- This should go without saying, but yeah these are custom cards. These are in no way actual official Inscryption cards, seeing as there currently are none. For some context, this is has been a bit of a side project of mine for the last month. I've been essentially making "what if Inscryption was a real TCG?" and these cards are the ultimate culmination of that work so far. More work is being done on this whole project basically daily, and I'm currently working on the Undead cards, which has been a lot of fun. The "talking cards" are quite interesting, they are most notable for being quite cost efficient.
I remember people always wanted the talking version of the "stoat" because its flavor text was just "Bad play."
I have to look back into this game. Because of how cost effective they are, I believe Gamefuna actually had to put these cards on the restricted list because they were actually dominating tournaments apparently. Also I remember there always being a rumor back then that their were different, even rarer variations of the talking cards that had different art work and dialogue as well.
I’ve been looking through my older things from when me and my grandpa used to play, believe it or not, I actually found my old stoat card. Idk but I always liked that card the most, but i never was one for card games, I was mostly interested in the, well at the time ‘newly expanding’ Internet.

@@RogelioALoya In the game Inscryption the Stoat, Stinkbug and Stunted Wolf respectively are indeed these people you described. They are 3 of the four Scrybes, the fourth is Leshy, Leshy trapped the others inside cards. Their actual names are P0-3, Grimora and Magnificus

These look so amazing, like this is how imagined official would look like. The little descriptions of the characters and telling you what the sigils do are really cool details. I would love to see further progress on these because they look fantastic!

Along with the cards themselves, your acting and script are very good! You sound nervous, but that actually helps a bit. I really like how you incorporated the talking cards into your lore especially! I hope you make more videos like this.

I believe the Cat was errata'd later on - its new text now reads "Nine Lives: This card does not perish when sacrificed. Each time you sacrifice this card, put a blood counter on it. When this card has 10 blood counters, remove it from play, search your deck, hand or graveyard for a card named 'Undead Cat' and put it into play. If you searched your deck, shuffle afterwards."

I think 'Many Lives (9)' would be a better way to put it.
Also isn't the Undead Cat usually a 3/6?

Found a rom of the game online played a little bit of it. Pretty fun game
Something to note with the cat card! If you sacrifice the Cat card nine times, you can search your deck for the Undead Cat and play it in its space! The Undead Cat is a 3/6 that can be incredibly surprising for your opponent if they don't know this mechanic!
Undead Cat doesn't need to be in your deck. It actually allows you to search your collection for it. Of course, in tournament play, this usually means sideboard, but the extra effect is far more powerful then people give it credit for.
Really like how in character you are here. The cards all look really good and I love the real world lore you came up with, excited to see what you make next.
I'm not sure if these are MTG inspired but I'm absolutely in love with the design. The little descriptions, the back of the cards. It genuinely feels real, and I love the energy you put in the video! Can't wait to see more!
I actually referenced MTG cards when designing these! Figured it seemed the most appropriate, seeing as the two cards we ever actually see are basically just MTG cards haha

as a player of the game when it was first in print i can tell some of the new fans about these talking cards:
there were 5 different ones in total 3 beasts 2 robots
out of the beasts there was a:
1/ 3 stoat for 1 blood
2/2 stunted wolf for 1 blood
1/2 stinkbug with stinky for 2 bones
out of the bots there was a:
1/3 fishbot with gift bearer for 3 power
2/1 wizbot with clingy for 2 power
they were really weird and probably a holdover from earlier in the design
maybe once it was themed around animals vs robots and all the cards were more powerful.

Hey just to help give more context, I found my older deck from when I was younger, mostly in well condition. I found a older set of beast cards and some other one which I don’t quite remember
Great white 4/2 - 3 blood
Kingfisher 1/1 - 1 blood
Beaver - 1/3 - 2 blood
I also found this weird card, bone hound.. it’s printed in a different shade but I’m not quite sure about it, can’t read its stats since it’s been left out in the sun and water spilled on it.
@@Timetraveler2411 Don't worry! I have a bone hound! I found it near the curb, looked totally out of the beasts vs robots type of thing! On second thought, I remember seeing somewhere that said there were supposed to be *4* themes. Maybe bones might be one of them?

I remember a friend of mine was searching for talking cards for a while and actually pulled two of them! There was a fish and it's flavor text was written in broken english, while the other was an ooze that mentioned it was in extreme pain. We didn't play with the ooze.
Oh yeah, I remember back in the day I found this one weak wolf card just on the side of the road. I don’t think I still have it, but it looked really neat. It said something like “that’s the best you could do” or something like that

@@CaptainWacky23 I didn't actually print these myself, I had them printed by a company who specializes in printing custom cards and board game assets. But, if you've seen Vladde's videos on it you're in luck, him and I are working together to have them available on his website with the same layout as his printable cards

I've recently played the steam game you talked about, it's weird that the first reprint would be beasts since the game looks more technology themed, I read in the original there were 4 deck themes (tribes, elements? i don't know how to call them), perhaps there will be a beasts DLC soon? I wonder how a beasts only gameplay would be.

@@lue64 The Inscryption we are playing it's the One Luke found (cause we play as Luke) since the great trascendence did happen then if You download the trascendant Inscryption (in Luke's universe) then p03 would be the dealer, not leshy
So I was really really young when the first run came out, but I remember my grandpa buying me a pack from 7/11 or something, and the one card I remember pulling was like... oroboros or something? I never played the game, but it was really really interesting. If I remember correctly it had something do do with sacrificing and it carrying over to other games? I did a little Google search and it was apparently banned at some point? All I remember is it being a 1/1 two cost.

Granted, it was really rare as well, which meant you wouldn't run into them as often but my older brother always complained about how competitive beast duels weren't much fun if your opponent could just save up two squirrels and then play a min 10/10 card to instantly win even if you dealt them damage in the first two turns. Honestly breaks my mind how anyone would have approved such an abuseable card for print?? Talk about bad game balancing. Banning it in tournaments was definitely the right play.
That being said I still remember how when my brother eventually got one (he spent way too much money on those cards if I'm being honest) he would convince 9 yo me to play the game with him for hours on the weekends just to get that darn card stronger and stronger. We eventually got it to 69/69 (very mature, I know) so he stopped bothering me about it.
After it was banned he was pretty pissed. I mean I would have been too if I had spent all my allowance on getting one card only to have it banned not too long afterwards. I think he dropped the beast deck entirely after this out of spite and instead started to build a tech deck instead. Apparently they fixed a lot of the balancing issues in that one? I don't really know since I didn't really play myself but he sure didn't complain as much anymore
So yeah, Tldr had a whale brother that complained about broken strats unless he could abuse said broken strats himself lol
Also if you still know where that card is you should definitely consider selling it, an original print untrained one might be worth a small fortune to a collector if it's in good condition! Go get that free money!!

These are so cool. I was thinking about how I’d love an actual trading card game or just a deck of cards for inscryption and here’s your video with absolutely beautiful cards. And the way you designed their appearance stays close to the original design in game, but also makes them useable if there’s an actual real life tcg which is awesome.
All good cards with stellar utility. Definitely are rarely ever bad cards to draw. That being said, not much synergy if your deck just has 3 squirrels and these 4 cards. Cat doesn't provide a bone for corpse maggots or stinkbug and no cards have a sacrifice cost so it's basically a 1 cost blood card that can't use its sigil that blocked a lane just as well as a squirrel can. Since that's the only blood cost card in this pack, you can only generate 1 bone via sacrifice. Might need to hammer a spare squirrel to get stinkbug out on the board. That being said, get this in a deck with more rounded utility, and you're pretty well off even if you can't find too many packs out in the wild.
They said this was the only pack.. I have some fond memories playing with my grandpa, a good bear or wolf could probably fix up the deck with the limited amount of the cards.

Back when I played Inscryption in school I always ran tech deck since I liked the theme the most. Big ol stall deck until I hit 3-6 energy. Since a lot of early game cards had 1 attack power, a L33pbot's 2 health made then very viable stallers. If they're doing more prints I might go ahead and try to run either a beast or magic deck. Stalling's just not my playstyle anymore.
Magic is pretty difficult to play since it requires Mox (some kind of Gem Totem) to be present in the field, though it has powerful effects such as 3 cards draw. Beast deck mainly used for early game play scalings, giving board presence and becomes a foundation for a more powerful beatstick. It also synergize well with Bone decks, since sacrificing a creature gives you a bone token.
The weakness of Beast deck is bricks. Especially when your hand only contains creatures that require sacrifices and there's nothing on your field. It also lacks milling capabilities (aside from Magpie's sigil which basically a deck search) which makes standalone Beast deck highly inconsistent and prone to bricking.
@@luckyalvin3947 Yeah, honestly the thing about Magic that prevents me from going for it is the different colour gems. It makes collecting the cards for deckbuilding annoying. Its not enough to pull a strong magic card, you have to pull a strong magic card for the color you want. This is especially annoying when it comes to the cards requiring two Mox cards. If you're not relying on rare mox cards (which you have to draw from your main deck) then you need to spend two lanes worth of mox in order to place your rare. Not to mention you're mixing your mox pool doing that. I don't like the uncertainty of being unsure what colour mox I'm about to draw, so I almost always go for a single colour deck.
Say, what do you think about the undead tribe? Personally I feel like they have way too slow of a startup. You can get some crazy combos off, but they just don't feel consistent. It feels weird, since skeletons seem like they'd imply a rush-type of gameplay, but bones take awhile to build up. Plus stalling for time is hard due to skeletons always dying right after you play them. Am I just misunderstanding them?
@@glowy3068 Undead decks always has slow startup, but like diesel engines. Once it has started, it only gets better. Beast-Undead hybrid decks is considered one of the most powerful combination. With Beast scaling sacrifices to provide the Bone tokens and putting down Undead beatstick using the tokens generated.
@@luckyalvin3947 That's fair. Personally though, I consider that to be more of a reason why Beasts are good compared to why Undead is good. I agree they have a nice synergy, but I think that a good deck should be able to stand on its own. For me, even once you start getting the bone engine going its really easy to loose momentum. Like, yeah, cards like necromancer and uh- that one that let you draw skeletons for bones (I forgot the name of it) are great for getting a bone engine going. Still, its fairly costly to get going, and if you don't get enough time to be able to get the invested bones back, you're in trouble. Its probably just my playstyle, I have respect for people who can skillfully play and utilize Undead. I really gotta get back into collecting cards for Inscryption. If they're printing new cards, I really hope that there's more talking cards. When I was still active, my rarest card was a Talking Lonely Wizbot, and I loved it. I think that the talking cards just have that extra boost of personality. I feel emotionally attached to them, and I like that aspect of the game.
I swear, these would be so popular if they actually sold TCGs like this. I'd be willing to spend hundreds to collect one of every card at least. Also can't forget the additional add-ons to make it a board game, like the Sacrificing Altar with Sigil Chips, Cave of Trials where you draw three random trial cards from the trial deck (Trial Deck Cards not included), The Trader/Trapper that come with 2-3 (Random) Pelt Cards and 5 Teeth, the little cubes with 1 random item each that they sell for waaay too much money, the campfire (with 1 burn sigil token included), SOO much money to be made...
Omg this is so cool! You're acting is actually very genuine too! I know as a drama kid in highschool- trying to sound like someone absurd is normal isn't always easy.
I loved this card game as a kid and this video really explains it so well, cant wait to make a deck of these cards once i get some packs of my own.

i wish devolver actually made a whole card game for inscryption. some things like sigils, sacrifices and powering up would be hard to implement. but it'd be cool to actually have these cards in your hands.
Man, nobody talks about this game anymore! Last time I heard about it was from a card TH-camr who found some packs at a garage sale. He mostly stopped posting after that video though. It was kinda weird tbh

@@speedybp5950 according to the mortician, there was not much of a face left. The police reported they recovered his camera and identified the kind of gun from footage he was taking, but the camera was later reported as stolen from the evidence locker. This is some deep S***

I don't have a discord server for this project, as I mostly post updates on my Twitter, and in the Daniel Mullin's official discord server. I'm also considering making it for use in TTS, but that'll be a focus later, objective one is just to make the cards.
And not to worry, no mistakes as far as I can see, you did great!
I do really like the design for these. It's close enough to the in-game cards that it works aesthetically, but it feel more tangible to an actual card game.
Whenever someone makes a IRL version of the game it's always based on Leshy's board and just the beast++undead cards, so I'm really curious how you'd make the other two.

I love this so much, the incorporation of talking cards and the whole premise of "just found these while at the store" is just so great. Plus not to mention how the cards look! I just love this whole video and premise, can't wait to see more
This is just a quick bit of input. Absolutely love this idea and trust me when I say I will/would buy these cards as soon as soon as I can if they ever became available, but one thing I noticed about the cards is that the life points and the sacrifice points are switched in where they should be on the card. Just a minor thing, not super important just wanted to put it out there
Yup, that was actually intentional! I designed the cards around using 6 sided die to keep track of their health, and having it down near the bottom of the portrait made it so, if you had a die on the card, it could get in the way of sigil's text. With it at the top it never gets in the way regardless of what size dice you might be using to mark your cards!

My favorite part of inscyption was the beginning, just because the gameplay was so clean there compared to the rest of it, but that’s just my opinion- anyway, that’s why I’m glad to see the Beast storyline cards being made with such care here!

Just a fun fact that you may have not known, the cat's "Many lives" sigil actually never says infinite sacrifices, and there is a reason for that. If you sacrifice the cat 9 times then it becomes a 3-6 Undead cat, no sigils.
Yup, I did! Child 13 has that too if you sacrifice them, you guessed it, 13 times. I'm simply not worrying about that extra, mostly easter egg effect since I'm making the other archetypes and their cards, and any of those with the Many Lives sigils don't change into anything after a certain number of sacrifices

Yeah, this video didn't show the blood well, since it only appeared on cat, which was a bad call on my part. But hopefully in a few days I'll have a substantial update on this

I really like this! Though if you want to be accurate to the game and stuff then you should probably be informed that the card pack props used in the lucky carder videos say that they contain "12 Trading Cards". But 7 is plenty so keep this up!

God i would love physical inscryption cards, if inscryption was an actual card game it would be great. Imagine being able to use physical cards to battle people and pick whether you want like technology or beast etc.

I remember this game! I used to play all the time as a kid. My favorite thing to do was to play a bot/beast deck deck, that ( usually) had at least one cat and two power circuits, as those cards were amazing because they allowed infinite of your resource. Another of my favorite cards was the Mox Capsule, because of the enhancement that a lot of bot cards get from it
Technically speaking, Tech would have Empty Vessels for their side-deck, though Leap Bot is basically the same thing in terms of usefulness and cost. You'd think that Empty Vessels wouldn't cost anything to place...
I'm mainly basing this off of act 2, where Empty Vessels don't exist. They also don't do much at all in a Tech deck without the ability to make them completely busted, which is why I defaulted to L33pbot instead. 1 e-cost, low statline, and actually helps Tech survive until they have the energy they need to do anything
I was told that a foil Mantis God goes for a couple hundred bucks. On the unrelated note, I haven't heard from the guy who told me for quite a while now.
I was half expecting Kaycee to be the fourth card.

I actually got a Mantis God Foil! I'm keeping onto it, when prices rise more.
I love this video. but at the same time I can't believe I watched the whole thing from beginning to end intently listening to someone talk about things I already understand
I feel the Sidedeck cards should have a symbol on them somewhere to denote as such.
it would be so cool if you made a pack opening on each scrybe's decks! magnificus's might be difficult, though. I'd love to see grimora's!
