You know the reason why Veronica was crowned Miss HK thus' runners up in this pagaent.. all cuz of her Family name - she is the granddaughter of the founder of 'VitaSoy' who happens to be one of TVBs top clients at the time.. we talking about millions of dollars in commercials annnually. Mandy still remains one of the least popular winners in the pageant’s history. She and Hong Kong’s high placements remain a mystery. New York should have won that year with Kuala Lumpur placing as well. I would’ve placed Sydney as third but not first. The judges must have been medically blinded that year!
Mandy Cho? I think she's pretty, but also think she's kind of wooden. I still think she's prettier than Veronica Shiu (the HK rep up there). I saw Veronica in "Come Home Love" and had no idea she was a Miss Hong Kong winner. They played her up like she's an angel in the show and I was very confused.

New York was also a favorite but only placed third. I felt her facial beauty, height, and confidence should’ve won her the title. Unfortunately the judges went for a more mature contestant that year. While Mandy gave a good performance, her face is quite distracting because the chin and her jaw is quite small/narrow. And she is the shortest contestant in the top 5. Still an upset and mystery to this day. I would’ve had NY winning with KL and Sydney taking second and third (or SY second, KL third). Hong Kong’s placement was way too high as well, she struggled in interview and facially, she isn’t as strong as NY. Very confused how she made it to second place. Must have been the hometown advantage.
I think Catherine should win. She is tall, beautiful, cute, confident, optimistic and talented.
