I'm attempting to move away from the computer and into a Leitner box for my language learning because I have to spend so much time on the computer for work I really don't want to add to the screen time. Additionally, it's more adaptable to what I need. I'm a firm believer that translation is the devil and vocabulary building is done by necessity, not theme. Therefore, I can curate what I learn and how I learn it to be most effective for me instead of having to adapt to a preset app (although I think some of the apps are pretty fun, but it all goes back to efficiency for me). Thank you for the videos!

So kind of you to leave a great comment! I totally agree with you. One primary reason (among several) that I go screenless when studying is because I'm eye-fried from spending hours on the computer and phone. How can people continue to study even more on screens after work???
And I LOVE your point about being able to curate exactly what you learn to make it most effective for you. That's another benefit for sure. I don't like to study stuff I don't want to, that has no relevance to me, just to satisfy a program created by someone else. That's why I like to focus on creating games and sharing methods that let people practice whatever they want.
You're welcome for the videos and thank you for your engagement! Good luck with all of your studies!

@@MatthewRaymondBoyle I'll have to let you know how it goes. My day job is teaching English to language learners overseas via online platforms, and I know many of my adults students have the same challenges and constraints I do with language learning, so I'm always up for trying new techniques.

I can't be bothered to make one in real life because I want to be able to study on the go and a Leitner box would make that slightly difficult. I prefer SRS flashcard apps. Especially because you can add audio!
I've considered making a video about Leitner Boxes before because making the cards can definitely be more helpful in remembering things as you'll have the memory of creating them. Especially if you do things like draw pictures, write fun example sentences, etc. I don't think I'll need to make my own though since yours are so good!

Haha! Oh, man. Mine are not that great. Sometimes I don't even cut the cards straight. But thank you. And I know what you mean about how it is difficult to travel with. You just made me think of a wild idea: what if a physical flashcard box and phone app could constantly be syncing and you could do either one each day?! --Matt
