Yes, the whole point of 'poppin' seems to be the illusion. This needs a full frame view, and if cuts are made to individual moves we can see them happening, rather than thinking, for example, 'how the heck did that guy just get from there to there?' For people who know how hard it is to side-glide that smoothly it's still impressive, it just doesn't look it so much...
Marius Cheek thank you for articulating what I was thinking better than I managed to. It really is that illusion quality to all animation styles that really sells it. When you see it from just one angle there are moments that don't seem real.

In my honest opinion, I think you should keep the camera in a fixed position. It helps the illusion of your dance moves. The multiple camera angles and camera cuts destroys that nice illusion and moves you do. I know it's not your fault and the camera man is trying to be more useful but, you miss a lot with the way you shot this video. Love your dance moves Johnny boy. Best I seen. Keep it up. Don't ever stop you.

I still don't understand why people using a camera filming soneone dancing thinks it's a good idea to zoom in on the face and missing the glide. Or zooming in on the feet on a glide. You miss the whole effect!
Set the camera low on a tripod. Wide angle lens. Focus. Hit record. It's it's really that hard?
