Hi mam, My kid is 22 months and he has a developmental delay... from 14 months he began to babble, now he is able to speak a few words such as Baba, Kau, Mama etc but those are not meaningful, he doesn't address anyone while speaking these words. Like you I'm intensely working on his speech by teaching him imitation, instructions following and all, also use story books while feeding him but the problem is that he's not taking interest when I show him pictures from the book. What to do???? I like your Idea of pretend play....I will try to use it.... Thanks for sharing such helpful ideas and keep sharing....God bless you and your family!

Richa ji, I wanted to add something, Hope it will be helpful for others(if needed) I use to give screen to my kid while eating but after watching ur videos I have stopped giving him screen fully. And the result is good. He is enjoying his food, paying attention to things around and also I am trying to utilise that 1hr also in a playful learning way..jaise ki I gave him a toy vch operates vth key,he needs to put An effort to turn the key to make the toy move forward vch is a fine motor activity. His mouthing is there so I am giving him some flutes to blow vch he is enjoying n also his Oral motor activity is happening there. Playing hide n seek vth him to increase eye contact. So I have found that the tantrums r reduced and he is Happy doing things alongwith me.

My kid is fussy eater, recentky he started eating variety of food but triggered his oral issues and hence tactile as well. he eat food just as per need. he is hypotonic(weak muscle tone), it is tough to go ahead with his choice of food and timing. any suggestion how can i make lunch time fun. Morning/ night he mostly do physical exercise so gets hungry but lunch time is a real terror for me

Exactly meri bhi wahi problem thi I cud not stop screen while eating but then I started singing the rhymes that she used to watch on screen while eating....jab bahut bhook hai they will eat few bites and then stop eating.... but I was persistent.... no screen... dheere dheere adat ho gayi... now she is completely off screen.... Agar screen dikhana bhi hai tOh in a different time not in meantime and don't show cartoons.... show kids dancing or real people or nature....

Exactly meri bhi wahi problem thi I cud not stop screen while eating but then I started singing the rhymes that she used to watch on screen while eating....jab bahut bhook hai they will eat few bites and then stop eating.... but I was persistent.... no screen... dheere dheere adat ho gayi... now she is completely off screen.... Agar screen dikhana bhi hai tOh in a different time not in meantime and don't show cartoons.... show kids dancing or real people or nature....

Also My daughter is 6 year old and non verbal..Doing therapy from 4 years…She never ask whatever she wants ..not even food or water.. if I am not giving her food.. she will not eat at all….she never ask for water too.. even i have to give her water every two hours or I have to remind her to drink water.. same like food .. she never come to me and ask me that she wants food.. that’s my big concern she never express Whatever her needs.
