These firefighters didn't have the correct information from dispatch and it's likely that their dispatching agency didn't know either. The incompetence here is not of the first responders or their dispatchers, but the government for failing to properly store the ammonium nitrate, for failing to listen to the security service when they warned them of what could happen, and for failing to actually care.
They didn't know they were heroes, they went because it was their duty. Had they known what was about to happen, they would have rightly refused. Great responsibilities will have to emerge, oh yes. Nobody deserved this cataclysm.
Port officials should of at least had explosive signs around that warehouse at the very least. For a fire to be happening and people who work at the port who knew there were explosives should've said something or at the very least called the fire department and told them that it's dangerous to go there because of the nitrate. No one was thinking that day, no one thought to raise the alarm. God bless their soles, platoon 5.

That was my first concern when I saw the explosion... the firefighters and other first responders on scene. What this government did reminds me of the soviets sending their firefighters straight into death with the Chernobyl accident in 1986. These deaths could so easily have been avoided if the government wasn’t trying to hide away the truth, that’s the sad part of it. Let their deaths never be forgotten and their views and courageousness be taught upon the next generation of firefighters.

Firefighters are the unsung heros of every city. From the ones buried on 911 to these men at this port. They are the first there and they pay the price for everyone else's choices.

These firefighters didn't have the correct information from dispatch and it's likely that their dispatching agency didn't know either. The incompetence here is not of the first responders or their dispatchers, but the government for failing to properly store the ammonium nitrate, for failing to listen to the security service when they warned them of what could happen, and for failing to actually care.

Port officials should of at least had explosive signs around that warehouse at the very least. For a fire to be happening and people who work at the port who knew there were explosives should've said something or at the very least called the fire department and told them that it's dangerous to go there because of the nitrate. That was my first concern when I saw the explosion... the firefighters and other first responders on scene.
What this government did reminds me of the soviets sending their firefighters straight into death with the Chernobyl accident in 1986.
These deaths could so easily have been avoided if the government wasn’t trying to hide away the truth, that’s the sad part of it.

I really become astonished to see the difference in the thinkings of people ...in one side they secrificed their life to save other life..and in another side the culprits who are responsible for this massive explosion ...i wish a balance could be done to their thinkings. .😧😧
Firefighters are the unsung heros of every city. From the ones buried on 911 to these men at this port. They are the first there and they pay the price for everyone else's choices.
These firefighter are the real heroes. May God grant them a place in Heaven and bring comfort to their families and loved ones during this terrible time. I can't believe that the firefighters weren't informed of the fireworks stored in the warehouse. The Lebanese government have a lot of blood on their hands.

IT looks like they didn't suffer, but when that's the only positive angle... I hope the people can find the strength to topple their corrupt government who allowed this to happen.
EDIT : I am pretty sure the people who sent them did not know and I believe the man who said they would create an exclusion zone had they known. All blame is much higher up than a fire marshall.

May the men and women lost change the world on how industrial fires are approached. Also I hope cities make logs of materials being used in buildings so they don't go in blind.
These were very brave people who lost there lives because of a corrupt government I feel so sorry for there families god bless them all.
