And with this excellent piece, I have finally become a Patreon supporter. Folks in the "west" are very much in need of reporting such as this. To see and hear the thinking of West Asia leadership can help those of us in "the west" understand and develop our own perspectives, outside of the punative and domineering mindset of the mongering west.

This is some rare real journalism Rania and an excellent interview with Sheikh Naim Qassem. Thank you for this. I live in Ireland and, over the course of the past 30+ years, I don't believe I've ever heard, seen or read anything in either Irish, British, European or American media that describes the domestic social and political policies of Hezbollah within Lebanon as enunciated by the Sheikh in this interview. Despite the fact that Irish UN Peacekeepers have been operating in south Lebanon throughout the past 30+ years, it is truly remarkable that no Irish journalist has ever sat down with Hezbollah and sought to discuss their policy stance within the country or externally, specifically in respect of Israel's continuing aggression against Lebanon and its continuing theft of Lebanese land in the south. Again, thank you for this.

There is no theft of Lebanese land. Israel occupied briefly part of south Lebanon after 1982 in order to stop terror acts, shelling and bombing. It withdrew because it suffered many soldier casualties. Reality is Lebanon would be still the "Switzerland" of the Middle East were it not for Hizballah.

I once knew an American major general and the subject of Hezbollah came up. When i told him that i always heard the worst about Hezbollah but after many visitations to Lebanon, i found that they were very much loved and respected by the Lebanese. And also saw that the Hezb were everywhere, every crossing with them was pleasant, kind respectful and helpful. The major turned to me and said, yeah we know. If anything they’re honourable people and truthful. That many in the service actually revered them due to that and their genuine care for people. Also said they were amongst the bravest men they had ever known.
I was shocked to hear him say that being America labels them terrorists. He shrugged and said yeah well thats where politics comes in.
After all this visitations and hearing from the people themselves, and the crossings i had with them, i started to see the bs back home with the media and how little people know of what is really real and who r the real culprits in our day and age.

Thank you for this informative and lucid interview. The Hezbollah representative’s answers and responses clarified the cogent and reasonable views of Hezbollah and their logical position within the framework of Lebanon and Western Asia.
This interview provided the possibility of listening to what Hezbollah themselves think and their reasons and strategies for improving the 0:03 life of their people and others in West Asia.
Please continue to introduce highly intelligent people who really care and and who act for their peoples rights and progress.

I am from India 🇮🇳 and 29 years old male. 2 things i understand after watching this interview completely 1st to last minute, and this is my take
    1. We should give chance to both of the side to express and explain/listen their thought before us to getting in any conclusion of who is right who is wrong because misinformation can create wrong Narrative that governs the society.
    2. We should make people(individuals)of respective regions to become more educated so they will not fall in any kind of propaganda as we all know no matter how big army you have at the end of the day you need people's mandate to function the country/society. Educate people so they will have clarity of thoughts to safeguard their own country by choosing the correct leadership.
Big thank to the channel for bringing in this kind of content.
    More power to you guys
May Allah Subhanotala keep you guys safe and healthy and gives you the courage as well as resources to bring the facts to the society ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Wow...Outstanding interview Thank-You Sheikh Naim Qassem and of course Rania Khalek, outstanding journalism. If one listens closely to this interview, there are many similarities here of what is beginning to happen in the collective west. One big difference, here in the collective west, we gave away our resources freely, thinking that the trillions of dollars of profits were flowing into the collective bucket of the people. Where as in other Countries the collective west starves and murders the people, destroys economies, and then plunders there wealth and resources. Imagine Lebanon pre Western Influence. Lebanon was the "Paris" of the Middle East. My friends if you are in the West like I, you only need to look to Lebanon to see what is coming to a town near you. I am 60 years old, for 50 years we were taught/told that they were the bad guys, boy oh boy did I get it wrong. It was not my government fighting for my freedom, it was organizations like Hezbollah, they were not going to be ruled over, and I think that we have come to a time in history where we ALL must decide not to be ruled over either.

You do realize hezbolah is just a front for Iran. In fact Iran is the biggest imperialist in the Mideast. Look at a map. They are in Iraq, in Syria in Lebanon, in Gaza and in Yemen. Their influence spread from Iran to the Mediterranean. This is why Israel protects its borders and citizens at all costs.

@@mydraftable6526 My friend lets make a few things well understood. Facts that have been well supported and documented for decades. Israel is an occupier, a terrorist state, and is guilty of several thousands of crimes against humanity, including genocide. NATO and its allies are also terrorist organizations, this has also been well established. I am quite familiar with all of the regions which you have referenced, these along with several other Countries have been targeted by NATO, It's allies and a variety of NGO's They have ALL been terrorized, and if ANY aggression comes it is in defense of their lives. I strongly recommend that you clear up your understanding because it is your door that the IMC will be knocking down next.

great interview as someone in Australia i find it very important to understand perspective of others from them not my media which sadly and frankly i can not look to for the true perspective of others in other countries from a Geo political sense , the point of view from my local media i have stopped watching other than to keep up with the one sided veiw of how we in the west are programmed to view , its was further eye opening hearing Sheikh Naim Qassem confirm (not that i needed it ) the use of isis/isil by american interests to serve their political shenanigans in the area , its not easy after many years to see and reach conclusion by the evidence of the Wests deception and lies beyond description as to how we go about subverting nations to gain control and using any level of chaos to achieve puppet regimes that serve our interests , there is no honor in the way now we conduct policy in 2024 and perhaps there never has been , to say i woke up in the matrix (as in the movie) in 2009 is an understatement , in finishing as someone of Celtic roots i found the mind set of these people with regard to having to help people escape colonialism and decide their own fate close to my own heart , i often say i want no kings or queens above my head but more importantly i seek no slave beneath my feet either , if you were to wrap me up in a sentence it would be that , freedom to Palestine , freedom for all people

What I would like to know is if Hizbullah is only made up of Shia people or is it heterogeneous as Lebanon also has Christians, Sunni's and other religious groups? Again, many thanks and keep up your wonderful work, both you and the whole of BT news!

This may or may not be helpful, but my understanding (as a westerner) is that Hezbollah is a shia organization. Their base is primarily in southern Lebanon where the shia population is the biggest. I think non-shia members are rare (Lebanese politics is very divided according to sectarian lines) but they of course have alliances with non-shia organizations. They also have support among some christians and other minorities in the region for defending christians in Syria from ISIS and other such groups.
It is also my understanding that Hezbollah was more fundamentalist and sectarian when the group was first established, but have since become less hardline and more "populist". For example they don't aspire to establish Islamist rule in Lebanon, they accept that Lebanon is diverse and that the different sects all belong to the same Lebanese nation.

    • @samirkheir9007

I am a shia lebanese. Be aware that the organization was founded as a resistance movement in southern lebanon to fight israeli occupation. Southern lebanon is mainly populated by shia citizens (more than 90% i could say). This is why it’s very logical for HZBLLAH to start as a religious shia organization. When they began practicing politics and reached beyond south lebanon, they created many units that include people from all religions and sects. Right now, most of the organizations run by HZBLLAH (hospitals, tv channels, etc) inlcude people from all religions, except for the organizations that express religious beliefs. For example, there is military training units where they teach religious stuff at the same time. These are exclusive to shia citizens. They created military training units identical to the religious units, but they don’t include anything religious in these units. This way they don’t force the shia religion on other people, they only offer it to shias. Whereas all units that contain non-shia citizens don’t apply any shia-related beliefs or religious conducts. Also note that any social help or humanitarian work aimed to help the citizens is always offered to everyone no matter their religion. For example, “al qard al hasan” is an organization funded by HZBLLH to give loans to people with 0% down payment and 0% interest and easy repayments. This organization helped tens of thousands of families pay university tuitions and install solar electricity panels after the electricity crisis in lebanon, regardless of religion or origins or anything. Anyone can benefit from their offers.

My respect to the sheik. Since my youth, I’ve seen the recurrence of the issues in the Middle East. I hope that all people in the Middle East will have peace, joy and prosperity. I feel the struggles of the Palestinians, the other Arabs in the region, and the Jews also. Everyone deserves freedom, happiness and prosperity in life. No one should be oppressed and controlled. The plight of the Palestinians is a desperate situation but it’s not as desperate as the fate of my countrymen in the 1950-1975. My countrymen here were the Vietnamese. We were blessed to have strong & resilient mentality and leaders. My ancestors fought back the impossibility. The Arabs in Palestine needs to have strong leaders. Back in the day, Ho Chi Minh (HCM), our charismatic leader, traveled to enemies’ countries to garner support internationally. I just think that the Arabs need a leader with such capacity as HCM. He built an army from nothing and a country from nothing. The Arabs need a leader who can bridge the support from the west or from China or Russia to support the Middle East. This will be the only way to counter the mighty Israel with its support from the West. This leader needs to be diplomatic, charismatic with his people and revolutionary at the same time to save the desperate fate of the Arabs. Hope that there will be peace to the Middle East. God Bless!
