    I love the looks, the interiors and the drive of this car!! It is sporty and economical at the same time. The interiors are Audi class. It doesn't feel floaty like the Camry or the Accord and is planted on the ground. Handling is spot on and the engine is adequate and much more sportier than most mid-sized sedans. Indeed a drivers car. Be lost in the crowd with an Accord or a Camry or stand out in this much better package all around.
    P.S: That silver looks really awesome on it!!

    I test drove a 2015 Mazda6 Grand Touring edition with the Technology Package and the i-ELOOP regeneration braking system. I was blown away by the comfort. It's just under $20K at an Infinity dealer. I'm taking a very serious look at this one!

      @@filipvatamidis6194 No, I didn't. I found a great deal on my "dream car," a Toyota Avalon Hybrid. I am not disappointed with my decision, but I was very impressed by Mazda after that test drive.

    I love how just after you mentioned about brights and wildlife you see an animal run across the background in your video (I had to hit pause to see it again). ;)
    I love how the front grille lights up at night.
    I plan to trade in my 2008 Mazda6 this Fall. I really would like to get a fully loaded 2016 Mazda6 specifically because I want the upgrades they put in on the 2016 model over the 2015 (i.e. LED lights, new infotainment screen, light up grille, etc).
    Love your review.... keep up the good work!

      @Sjrick 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well i drove it today and was impressed. From all the videos ive seen its pretty much spot on, sound wise. I didnt notice any issues with the sun. However my salesguy said he would cut me a break and take off 100 dollars. Im like , seriously ? Can you spare it ? So now its a process of getting the best price between multiple dealers.
      I did learn that you can get the Touring trim and add on the premium audio. It hits on all 3 of my interests. Premium audio, back up camera, heated seats. And i didnt have to go up to the Gran Touring trim level.

      +Sjrick I am also planning to get the Touring with the Bose and Technology package. It basically makes it a Grand Touring without the memory seats and leather seats (Although the Touring comes with the letherette seats which everyone including me thinks feels like leather and won't smell in 3 years). It saves me 2K overall with all the GT goodies.

    • @Sjrick
      @Sjrick 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ive had mine for 4 months now. The leather is by far the softest ive ever felt in any car. The two things that are annoying, The windshield reflection of the dash and the road noise ( due to the 19" wheels) But a loud radio fixes that. I forget how big it is. I love the large trunk. If i were to buy again, i too would go for the touring and upgrade the stereo. I have the GT with everything. Its more then i need. I went from 290 a month up to 360 for the GT. I leased it for 3 yrs. My only advice is to go alone and be sure what you want, I went to the dealer with my sister and she talked me into the GT.

  • @buchajo
    @buchajo 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Wondering about the dash reflection? How does that not happen in other vehicles? Why is it just a problem in this vehicle? I'm just curious about this one... never would've thought about this before. Certainly something to consider.

    I own this car in meteor grey. you missed two of the best features my favorite feature is the rear cross lane traffic alert when I'm parked between two large SUV's is very difficult to see who was coming when you're trying to back out of a parking spot with the sensors on the bumper the vehicle will alert me on coming pedestrians or cars the other thing is the headlights when you're driving the headlights track your steering wheel motion so if you turn to the left the headlights curve to the left and like that side of the road before you drive down it good job on the review I love mine it is an excellent car

    • @chadhaire1711
      @chadhaire1711  8 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @machpandac
      @machpandac 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      tell me again how you damage headlights? The one way i know is by having a collision. With that said, whether its 2k or not for the headlights to be repaired (probably NOT having seen aftermarket lights online at 200) its safe to say that 2k is the least of your worries.

    Great review! I work for Mazda and my favourite is the CX-9 and Mazda6. I was super close to buying a Mazda6 for my next car but I saw all their flaws. We get in a couple skyactivs every week in the shop that need engine replacements. Last week we had 6 come in with blown engines and 3 were Mazda6's. And they do have interior and exterior quality issues so I strayed away. Overall, though, the best midsize in the class!

    • @chadhaire1711

      chad haire Very funny! That was my Tiguan but I got a 2015 Golf. I live it to death! There's something about the way a German car is built and how it drives.

    • @chadhaire1711
      @chadhaire1711  9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Brandon Friesen And how they end up in the shop with $$$$ repair bills when the warranty is gone!!!

    • @brandonfriesen5389
      @brandonfriesen5389 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      chad haire I've had excellent luck with Volkswagen. My sister has a 2006 Jetta TDI with well over 300,000 miles. Only repair was two rear wheel bearings which came out less than $100. The rest of the money she's put into it is dealer maintaining it every 10k miles. Runs like a clock.

    • @chadhaire1711
      @chadhaire1711  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Brandon Friesen Well you are certainly beating the odds here. A German car dies when the warranty dies, and the Japanese last long after.

    I agree on the automatic braking, lane departure mitigation (where it actually nudges you back in the lane) but i'll have to STRONGLY disagree on radar cruise control. I don't see that as a safety feature or something that encourages lazy driving on it's own, but it greatly minimizes annoyance and frustration on long highway trips where everyone is doing slightly different speeds. However I will say if Mazda's radar cruise is anything like Honda's system it will be near useless. Honda's system is way too sensitive and panicky...slamming on the brakes when someone pulls in front of you, and slow to get back up to speed when they switch to another lane.

    • @chadhaire1711
      @chadhaire1711  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      radar cruise is dangerous.....the only thing that should be controlling the car is the driver.

    • @jbm0866
      @jbm0866 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@chadhaire1711
      If that's the case, I guess you don't like normal cruise control either? I agree about the other stuff, all you have to do is pay attention to your driving to stay in a lane or avoid hitting a car/pedestrian/bike, but on long, straight stretches of Texas highway I hate having to constantly adjust or cancel/reset cruise control. Thing is, neither form of CC means you can check out and take a nap behind the wheel, one just makes long distant travel less annoying.

    • @chadhaire1711
      @chadhaire1711  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Normal cruise is more of a throttle control that assists your foot rather than drive the car...it does not brake or accelerate so no I do not have a problem with "normal" cruise. Any car that brakes itself is dangerous--I have seen cars stop in the middle of the road with auto-brake and there have been many "cover ups" about cars stopping in traffic on their own....not a good idea if there is a truck in back of you hauling 20,000 pounds of gear...the future self driving car everyone is talking about is a stupid solution to a non-existing problem..will never happen in our lifetime....

    • @jbm0866
      @jbm0866 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chadhaire1711
      I want nothing to do with self driving cars, on that we can agree, however we're gonna have to agree to disagree on radar cruise control. Of course it all depends on the driver, if someone thinks radar cruise control and lane keep assist means they can pretty much check out from controlling the car, yeah that's dangerous and just asking for trouble, not to mention it shouldn't be used in certain weather conditions or anywhere you wouldn't normally use CC. (Such as heavy traffic)
      Radar cruise and backup camera are the only safety features I want, everything else turned off if so equipped. Even blind spot monitoring is unnecessary if you know how to set up your mirrors. (I`d guess 9 out of 10 people are looking at their rear door handles)

    • @MegaTechpc
      @MegaTechpc 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The radar cruise in my Mazda 6 GT is actually very good. You can set a fairly close follow distance and it is very smooth in operation. Also quick to resume once obstacle is out of the way.

    Those sky actives seem to be a great engine since the 2014 year cars and Mazda is sitting between Lexus and Toyota..you cant say better then that..and given the styling compared to Toyotas strap a grill on the front and then it becomes sporty ethos is as bad as ford 'nick the Aston Martin grill then call it sporty' approach.
    Shame the 6 isn't as sporty as id like but 184 isn't a dead head and its faster accelerating them a lot of its competition and a helluva lot better on economy...
    The only down side I see is the HUD..its just trouble waiting to happen and you cant switch the thing off..imagine when it eventually packs in and you have this thing sticking up doing nothing...but you have to take the thing if you want the top tech package.

    • @chadhaire1711
      @chadhaire1711  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      BusyBeeCompany The Mazda 3 is the same car but with less weight, slightly smaller size, and 4 grand cheaper, and far sportier to drive. I like it better. I have a video on it..click on my name--you tube page.

      mall...(wide and big) so I tried the 3 and it was a little snug..(my knee was running against the center console) which is ok for short journeys but long would drive me bonkers...the 6 im hoping has more room as its my favorite but I have the Subaru legacy to fall back on (the impreza had the same problem ut the top of the seat got me right were I have back damage so that was out...my favorite was the 3 sgt but that snug was too much...still a damn fine car...as is the 6 which car and driver are now recommending as the best midsized out there (not a fan of the new chrome inserts on the grill for the '16).

    The worst things about the 2016 Mazda 6:
    - Poor real world fuel economy of 26MPG according to Everyman Driver and TFL Car. That's below average for this segment.
    - Underpowered engine.
    - No AWD powertrain option.
    Buyers in this segment are looking for practicality. Mazda went for gimmicky tech features such as the HUD and lane assist instead.

    • @stefanschmidt6490

      Stefan Schmidt Anyone who thinks the Maxda 6 is under-powered has not driven one. Unless you are always driving in snow, you don't need AWD. I don't suck up the the car makers--if I tell you this car is in the top 10% it is because it is--which is why many car magazines rate it the best 10 every year.
      A great car.

    • @chimaeraSPK
      @chimaeraSPK 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      StealthTechz How do you back up the top two claims? The AWD option is negligible because most of it's competitors save for Legacy, Fusion, and 200 (V6) don't offer AWD anyway. Also, do you base your perception of a thing on other peoples' opinions? Or do you investigate, research and try to form your own? Look at fueleconomy.gov and you'll find that a lot of (real) owners are beating their combined fuel economy est. I've driven the car and its main rivals (Fusion, Camry, Accord, Altima, Malibu, Sonata, Optima). The car is not underpowered. It's no rocket ship, but it does fine in day to day driving and it gets up to hwy speeds (66+) quickly. Mazda 6 is currently the fastest accelerating 4 cyl. powered mid size sedan and if I'm not mistaken, your best friend at TFL (love you Emme!) recently took one in and averaged 33+ mpg. It has a lot of nice features, it's quiet, comfortable, and direct and precise and that's more than you can say for some of its competitors. Get your facts together before you start bashing.

    You are a voice crying out in the wilderness when it comes to such nonsenseas the automatic braking system & adaptive cruise control. When I firstbegan to drive they had similar devices that came with the driver- your own2 eyes ! What I was taught is that you pay attention to what is going onaround you. Unfortunately many consumers want the latest gadgetsso these so- called safety devices will be offered and probably endup as standard equipment. There is a major flaw to all this crap-if you keep a car for a long time as I like to do -I wonder what itwill cost when these systems need to be repaired?? Some of these items such as the back-up camera may be a good ideathen again .... I drove a Traverse with one for a day and the blastedthing drove me nuts ! I could see that looking at the camera is moreof a burden then helpful. I do think that rear sensors that alertyou to whatever is behind you is a great item to have. Unfortunatelythose rear view cameras will soon be standard equipment withsome sort of automatic breaking device.
