@@joseochoa5312 on the big rod… we have a phenix black diamond ratted 25-50lb…For reel we’re using a Penn Fanthom 2 (25) with 50lb braid and a 40 lb mono backing with a 25lb lider. For our lighter set up… my son is using an Iron Bass Rod 8-15lb ratting and a Lews Baitcaster spooled with 20lb braid and a 15 pound floro lider… I’m using a Phenix Maximun rated 8-15lbs… with a 3000 Shimano Sahara reel spooled with 20lb braid and a 15 pound floro lider…. The calicos were mid water column. We were using 2 set up. First set up was on a heavy rod, 20lb test on a dropper loop with live bait. Second set up was light bass rod, 15lb test with a 28 gram colt snipper. Both should work well. Hope this info help. Best of luck🎣🤙🏽
The only fish they usually go for is rockfish and they just bite on bait so no need for a rig, and all the fish are below 300 feet because of new regulations

Im heading out on the monte carlo weekend! Do you have any advice on what set up and what rig you use? Are the fish on the bottom or top?

You need to fish on top of the boat because if you fish in the bottom you will drown.
