I don't know why but I find this to be offensive. (I hope you know what I'm about to say doesn't apply to you TYLR ) Are those rappers serious? When they made that statement were they temporarily deaf at the time? I think that Mitch completely slayed this and was rapping very well. I've listened to a lot of rappers, but he is doing well here. So for them to say basically you suck at rapping so keep your day job. I don't know. Maybe I am just protective of them because of their sexual orientation and they were picked on growing up about it as was I. Anyways, thank you TYL for your reaction videos, especially when it comes to pentatonix and super fruit. For that reason I have subscribed to you. Thank you.
Mitch is a super good mimic and sassy Mitch is great. There’s a super fruit video (a sit down one) where he imitates a marker and it is hilarious. Problem is great, there’s a live version at a radio station too.
I almost prefer the radio station one, I think his confidence had grown a little bit since the studio version. And we can't forget the sassy rap from the Popspring2016 version of Can't Sleep Love.
Yes, PLEASE do the radio station version! It IS better than the official video. And the video and audio quality is good too so no issues there. m.th-cam.com/video/yFLhfqtIsTE/w-d-xo.html
Mitchy Poo! That's what Mitch's music does to you. Check out his alter ego, Messer, THAT will play with your brain. The depth of their talent is amazing. Never choose just one.
Hmm it's so hard to choose because I love both of them rapping. And the Mitch Rap Slap is definitely real, I've seen so many people absolutely floored when Mitch breaks out the rap. I think they're both so good at it because they were theatre & choir kids they probably had a lot put on them to annunciate clearly when speaking and singing. What's funny is in one of the Sing-Off songs they were doing a Kesha song and one of the judges feedback was to Scott that he had a kinda curse because Kesha sing-talks and he Sings too well to copy it, and I've always wondered if they took that as a challenge because one of their earliest songs was Thrift Shop, and then they did Starships (as someone else said). When it comes to who I prefer? It's definitely the sassiness in the Mitch raps that wins me over, I love a good Sassy Mitch moment because it looks like he's enjoying it so much. But I also really love the way Scott flows too. And it's even more awesome when you've got both of them together, that simultaneous rapping is so damn hard and so damn good because of how well they both flow & annunciation so clearly...they're spitting fast, but you can understand what they're saying. The beginning when Mitch said "Yo Scotty, they're ready" and you replied "Are you sure?" Had me rolling because I always answer him with "they aren't...they never are". Now, keep in mind that Problem was from when they were younger, so it's good but i feel like he wasn't quite as confident as he was here. Personally I prefer their recorded live for radio performance, because he'd been touring it a little so was a little more relaxed, but the studio version is probably a little sassier, so..., it's a trade off. Hell you could always do a side by side comparison, but I don't think you can go wrong with either version (I just love seeing them live). After Problem there's also Popspring 2016, which is a mini concert with 3 originals and the Evolution Michael Jackson. It's slightly longer, I think about 15 minutes, but most Pentaholics love it. In it we get a sassy Mitch Rap Slap in "Can't Sleep Love" (which isn't in the studio version, sadly) and it just lifts the song to the next level. As well as a Kirstie lead in "Water" and Scott just...going off in "Cracked". I can't help it, I can never get enough of these guys.
please definitely watch the live radio interview version of "Problem"! Mitch was in excellent shape that day. :) And somewhere you can also find a compilation video of mitch rapping. Including also some spontaneous clips from Scott while driving in a car etc...he's so good at it. A pity that he doesn't show it so often
Besides can’t hold us and problem I think the only other time you hear Mitch rapping is in a video called pentatonix random jamming/singing on the fly. The video is a compilation of a lot of different clips of the group randomly singing but there is a good one of Mitch rapping in it. The rest of the video is a lot of fun to react to also. If you want more Kevin and Matt rapping check out their live performance of joyful joyful from the evergreen experience or their mashup of Butter/Dynamite.
That was so much fun, especially watching your reaction!! I have to put my vote in for Mitchie Poo (LOL!!) They are both great but Mitch's sass and annunciation wins for me!
Once you've reacted to more Superfruit and Pentatonix you will come to realize that Mitch adjusts his singing and speaking voice to whatever is needed for songs or for what mood he's in when he speaks. His voice is not always high. His natural speaking voice is normal unless he is in the mood to speak in a higher tone.
So so so good! Sassy Mitchy Grassi all the way. Scott is great, too. I love his low register responses. Originally, Superfruit was going to be Scott and Mitch's anonymous rap duo, but they went another way with it.
You been watching’It’s me- Barry’? He calls Mitch Mitchy Poo too! Definitely on the Mitch side, and I think you’re right- it’s his sassiness. But then I’m just a tiny bit biased. Love these two.
love this one!! When you do problem, you should check out a live version too either in your free time or reaction - it’s just as entertaining to watch!
I agree. I'm a "Scott girl" but Mitch takes the win in rapping. They are both good, especially for this not being their main focus. But Mitch is really good
They are both great & have different talents & ways of rapping that I love. When it comes to flow & getting in character, Mitch wins for me. I agree that he is actually better than many rap artists today. I also love how I can actually tell what he's saying unlike a lot of rappers. His enunciation is always so clear (unless he's trying not to).
Mitch has a range of just over 6 octaves. Yes, he prefers his higher registers but no matter how high he can go 6 octaves means he can also go low. He refers to it as "masc," for "masculine."
Besides this video, a fairly underrated mitch rapping moment is Can't sleep love in their Popspring japan video. A very close second favourite mitch rap slap moment of mine. Problem is good, but Can't Sleep Love was on a whole different level of energy and sass from mitch. Would love for you to react to that as well. You get mitch rapping, original songs, and michael jackson all in one video✨
This was such an awesome video to start the morning with! I loved it. And if you were digging the sassiness, you're going to _love_ "Problem". Plus the babytonix did a cover of Starships (Nicki Minaj) I think you might like too :D
Terrific reaction. I think all the covers Superfruit and PTX have some personal info from them added/changed out from the original. For example: in "Can't Hold Us", they talk about "a little bit of couch" referring to their singing from a couch early on, and being raised in Texas, and Kirstie mentioning being on Broadway. I think there's a PTX reference in Trouble (Mitch rapping "Mitchie, Mitchie." and in Royals too at the end adding the last stanza about being bigger than they ever dreamed.
you really MUStT react to Empire medley, I never watched the show but the music from the 1st season is fantastic. They were asked to write this medley to introduce the 2nd season...needless to say Fox was very happy with the result. Blinding display of vocal prowess and arranging skill and I vote for Scotty
Knew you would love this Ty! The original song is Nicki Minaj featuring Beyonce hence the lyrics 'Stingin' with the Queen B'. I love that they have changed the lyrics slightly to fit them and to remove some of the more controversial words so in the original Nicki M says "Damn Nicki it's tight, I say, "Yeah ni**a you right" (Uh) He said, "Damn, bae, you so little but you be really takin' that pipe" and they change it to "Damn, Mitchy, you tight, " I say, "Yeah, daddy, you right." He say, "Damn, bae, you so little, but you be really usin' them pipes." as he points to his vocal cords. Which is sooo true Mitch has amazing pipes! :) In answer to your question Scott can rap really well but I agree with you that Mitch is very slightly better, I think because you expect it less from him. All the members of PTX can rap - with the exception of Avi, but Matt can now. In Problem, it's only Mitch who raps, but watch out for Scott showing his incredible singing range and singing really high! Keep reacting to both PTX and Superfruit. I love your reactions. With Defying Gravity you need to know that this was a birthday present from Mitch to Scott as Wicked is one of Scott's favourite musicals. Enjoy!
Mitch for the win! I also in general thing he’s the best rapper in the group, but Scott is really good too. PLEASE PLEASE do the live radio station version of Problem. I mentioned it in the Can’t Hold Us reaction, but it’s sooo good! Better than the official video. Mitch’s rapping is even more impressive, probably because it is live. Video and audio quality are good too no worries there. Or you could do both the official and the live radio station version. m.th-cam.com/video/yFLhfqtIsTE/w-d-xo.html
The original is done by nicki minaj and Beyoncé. You pointed out them changing up some lyrics and that’s because the original contains the N word numerous times so they replaced it with mitchy and daddy. The difference between the rap in this and problem is that he’s imitating two very different rapper’s style. One is nicki and the other is Iggy Izalia. 2 very different types of songs that the rap verses were added to also.
I left a long list of options in the last video , but just remembered their episode on Drop the Mic rapping against Bel Biv Devoe (sp?). That is really fun too- that was after Avi left and before Matt joined. They did great. th-cam.com/video/mtrwe_bgghE/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for this, Tyler!! I am biased toward “Mitchy-poo” 😂😂😂. Love everything about him!! Problem should be next for sure, and then you have to watch Can’t Sleep Love from Popspring 2016 (actually all of Popspring is 👏🏻) and finally watch Superfruit’s Empire Medley (Mitch and Scott being flawless per usual). 💜
Ok, while I like the song Problem, if you want to hear a Pentatonix rap cover, look for their cover of Thrift Shop by Ryan Lewis and Macklemore. There is rapping by Mitch, Scott, AND Kirsten in that one.
Personally...Mitch to me is the better rapper. His sass and unique tone wins out. BUT...those two together is so fun and they fit so well together...like a comedy team with Mitch being the funny guy and Scott being the straight man. Knew you'd love this, TYLR!!
Please pleasee PLEASEEE react to Twenty One Pilots! They are literally musically ingenious... they are also considered "genreless", so you literally get a bit of everything from them and they absolutely kill it at everything they do! They have a super awesome fan base that will help guide you through the journey because it's quite the trip! So if you get the chance PLEASE check them out, you WONT regret it! And if you do, start with their song "Ode to Sleep".✌️💚
i LOVE mitch so he def gets my vote
A reviewer commented onetime that rappers everywhere were happy that Mitch decided to sing instead of rap.
I don't know why but I find this to be offensive. (I hope you know what I'm about to say doesn't apply to you TYLR ) Are those rappers serious? Yes, PLEASE do the radio station version! It IS better than the official video. And the video and audio quality is good too so no issues there.
m.th-cam.com/video/yFLhfqtIsTE/w-d-xo.html
I remember when Mitch did the marker, it was spot on!
They are both so talented it’s ridiculous! Scott is famous for messing up lyrics so I have to give Mitch the rap win.
If you listen to the Popspring mini-concert, Mitch raps during Can't Sleep Love, it's fantastic.
Mitchy Poo! That's what Mitch's music does to you. Check out his alter ego, Messer, THAT will play with your brain. The depth of their talent is amazing. Never choose just one.
I freaking _love_ Messer.

Can't sleep love
Mitch rapping is my favorite thing ever!!!
That was so much fun, especially watching your reaction!! I have to put my vote in for Mitchie Poo (LOL!!) They are both great but Mitch's sass and annunciation wins for me!
You hear more rapping in Starships as well. They’re super young in that video, so I feel like it gets overlooked more than some of the newer ones.
I second the Popspring performance. Its a treat!

Yes, the 3FM version is amazing
I love Scott but I think I'd always have to go with sassy Mitchy Poo! So glad you did this!
I agree. I'm a "Scott girl" but Mitch takes the win in rapping. They are both good, especially for this not being their main focus. But Mitch is really good

Scott is having so much FUN.
He can’t stop smiling.
They are contagious.
Love it.
I told ya so, Ty! Haha. Thank you for the reaction. ❤️
Another fun rap one is Thrift Shop from PTX.
Mitch has a range of just over 6 octaves. Yes, he prefers his higher registers but no matter how high he can go 6 octaves means he can also go low. He refers to it as "masc," for "masculine."
I’ve got to give this one to sassy Mitch! Scott did his thing too but Mitch blows me away every time he raps.

If you look into early vlogs you will find out that Mitch was a DJ. Watching Baby Tonix vlogs, they were amazing. Gave you insight into the the group.
This was such an awesome video to start the morning with! I loved it. And if you were digging the sassiness, you're going to _love_ "Problem". Plus the babytonix did a cover of Starships (Nicki Minaj) I think you might like too :D
I always forget about Starships for some reason.
@@hawkeyescoffee6399 I love that one. Baby-babytonix!
And joyful joyful and bitter x dynamite for more rapping! Matt and Kevin!
First…Mitch rap slap..👍🏼 Second…Mitchie Poo..👍🏼Third…Flow-Sassy Mitch..☝🏼 Fourth…GREAT REACTION!!! 👏🏼I adore you!! 🥰

I love their lyric change. So clever (and needed.), the fact that "daddy" worked so well as a substitute is spectacular
Aww finally do see someone else shared original artist 😊
Yassssss I was waiting for this! 🎉😊
Mitch for the win! I also in general thing he’s the best rapper in the group, but Scott is really good too.

Opera version. You need to watch hip hop goes Broadway 1 &2
It’s no contest. It’s always a tie between these two. The difference you hear is the clarity of tone Mitch has vs the smokey/jazzy tone of Scott.
