  • Giratina-Altered has returned to legendary raid in Holiday 2024.
In Sinnoh Tour, Giratina-Altered has been defeated by Mega Rayquaza as neutral damage Duo Raid where Mega Rayquaza only used Air Slash and Dragon Ascent.
After raid system rework, Mega Rayquaza had taken a step forward and defeated Giratina-Origin as Solo Raid without weather boost. In which it remains to be the hardest raid challenge done in this channel due to how luck dependent it is while also requiring high precision rejoining at the same time.
With Giratina-Altered’s higher defense, Mega Rayquaza surely cannot defeat it as Solo Raid without weather boost. However, its defense stat is only 1 point higher than Palkia-Origin, which was defeated by Mega Rayquaza and Shadow Salamence last month.
This means Giratina-Altered can also be solo raided in Windy weather. Giratina-Altered learns Dragon Breath/Shadow Claw as fast moves and Shadow Sneak/Dragon Claw/Ancient Power as charged moves.
With Dragon Breath being boosted in Windy weather while Giratina also learns Shadow Claw/Shadow Sneak, the diversity of its moveset allows it to be defeated in 2 different way.
One can use Mega Rayquaza alongside with Shadow Salamence against Dragon Breath Giratina. Under this setup, it would be close to Palkia-Origin Solo Raid. It would overall be slightly more luck dependent since Shadow Salamence would want to take more charged moves from Giratina-Altered to quicker charge its Draco Meteor.
In the other hand, one can also use only Mega Rayquaza against Shadow Claw/Shadow Sneak Giratina, in which it would be similar to Giratina-Origin no weather boost Solo Raid. In this case, it would be slightly less luck dependent instead. With both Primal Reversion/Mega Rayquaza’s HP glitch fixed and Giratina-Altered hits Mega Rayquaza slightly lighter, Mega Rayquaza would require less rejoins naturally.
The second path (Mega Rayquaza Only) is picked this time, where Mega Rayquaza will challenge Shadow Claw/Shadow Sneak Giratina-Altered as Solo Raid by itself under Windy weather.
So in what way does this Solo Raid luck dependent? Overall, with Shadow Sneak being significantly stronger than Shadow Claw, Mega Rayquaza is very unlikely to be defeated with minimal HP left in each rejoin. That would requires Giratina-Altered to use Shadow Sneak in a timing such that it would either barely failed to defeat Mega Rayquaza with Shadow Sneak or it doesn't use charged move for an extended period when Mega Rayquaza's HP is running low.
In the other hand, Giratina-Altered might also not damaging Mega Rayquaza enough at the end such that Mega Rayquaza still have over half of its HP when the timer ran up. Of course, Mega Rayquaza do need to utilize all these remaining HP in order to beat the timer, which is why this Solo Raid is luck dependent. Thankfully, Mega Rayquaza has slightly more DPS this time such that this Solo Raid is not as strict as Giratina-Origin no weather boost Solo Raid.
At last, after some retries, Mega Rayquaza has managed to utilize its HP mostly except the 4th time it is on battle, which allows it to defeat Giratina-Altered with 4 seconds left.

    How to Solo a Raid:
Basically you need to be a Faster Reviver.

This honestly had caught me off guard since it was a while ago when I did the Origin form solo raid. It took me some attempts until I derust my quick rejoining. It took 6, 7, 6, 8 seconds on those 4 rejoins.

Great solo, I understand higher energy demanding charged moves sometimes don't even get to be thrown. But is it possible to land 8 outrage instead of 13 breaking swipe?

8 Outrage would takes around 20 seconds longer than 13 Breaking Swipe. So Mega Rayquaza cannot use that much Outrage.

Buddy boost won’t matter as long as you have max HP and Attack IVs
