The same audience will turn around and either ignore or boo the other students who are actually practiced and talented, passionate about their craft. The gag is that these gifted students are usually given the lame energy simply because they’re the talented and serious ones, and may be considered less outgoing and relatable to the masses.

Glo doesn’t fully know how to work the stage to me yet, but I really like her. Meg is always gonna give breath control and she’s the twerk queen, but I want her to switch it up more. Latto bored me a bit. I got a snack when Sexxy Red came on. Chloe, Coco, Victoria, Teyana, and Lauryn were my favorites of the night. Tyla sensed people weren’t feeling her and it seemed like it killed her self esteem. (I wish Zach could have seen the whole show for this context).

But ya know what, aside from some missteps and some WTF moments of the evening, 2024 BET awards was definitely ladies night. That's probably the first time ever that you seen so many female rappers performing on the main stage - not outside, not on the mini stage, but on the main stage! with production, with showmanship, with budget choreography and different outfits. Like that's huge!!! and overall female performance was consistent and throughout the evening. Just when you thought female artistry was dead, we had an evening of various performances from women. Tyla showed up and out, Chloe surprised alot of people, even Coco was steady with the vocals and the stage presence for a change. The Usher tribute was on!, Victoria owned the night! the last 6 months she has shown why she is the best new artist and I AM EATING IT UP!. She literally gave y'all an entire experience as a solo artist then ate it up with no vocals during the Usher tribute. Alot of people don't get the big deal with Victoria Monet but WE SEE IT! she's the total package. MIC is On, the dance is ON, the vibe is ON, the stage presence is ON!. she's sharp, dynamic and she's clearly studied from the school of Beyonce, Brandy, Aaliyah and Monica. CLEARLLLYYYYYYY!!!!

They definitely could’ve let Bryson Tiller, Tank, Jacquees, Trevor Jackson, or even Justin Bieber sing in Marsha’s place. Also I love Tinashe so much, but would’ve rather seen her perform one of her songs and one of the guys mentioned above do the tribute. If he he just wanted ladies, Muni Long would’ve probably been the better vocal for Nice and Slow. I love Latto down, but Ice Spice is not as bad as people make it seem. She had a nice set and full energy that night. Doechii, Saweetie, or Flo Milli would’ve been wayyyy better than having Nasty Red up there. Tanner Ardell and Doechii deserved a full spot, not snippet performances! The audience was a dry crowd too, because Tyla killed it! Victoria was THE NIGHT!!
