I am so pleased to see your new format and posting more videos. Being a late 1960's era pilot, I especially like your videos with the Mountain Dragon ... but All of your aircraft videos are enjoyable and educational. In this video, I liked the section where you filmed the effort of trying to get the skids into the same 'Snow Prints' on LZ (Landing Zone). Also, the part where you (Or your husband) were trying to do a stabilized touchdown on One skid was excellent and I don't think I've ever seen anyone document the process on TH-cam. I realize from other 'TH-camr' comments that producing decent educational videos is very tedious and takes some of the joy out of your own flying experience. Please recognize that you are helping interest people in learning to fly and that is a debt each of us took on when we ourselves received out pilots certificates. Our own gratitude for the gift of flight Must be passed on. It is also important that women see that they can learn to fly as well, so all of the videos of you flying as PIC are very important in their encouragement. Please keep up the excellent work ... and next time make your husband get out and film the freezing landings ;)
Thank you so much for your comment. That gives us the drive to continue making those time consuming videos. We 100% agree with you it is very much needed and also fun to share passion and knowledge with other people. We keep trying to awaken interest in all kinds of people for flying, and I, especially would love to see more women in aviation. Lol, he has been staying outside in the freezing cold many times to capture my landings... and i actually don't mind the fresh pure crispy mountain air in wintertime. Many greetings to you
Great video, the patience you need is amazing! By the way you don't have to tell us when your getting cold, I love it. Your video is never boring, I could watch them every day Really love you!😍❣
Mountain takeoff and landings in Winter are challenging and require experienced pilots to regularly practice their skills and stay sharp! Great flying videos, guys!
Very true. We need 50 Mountain landings per year to stay current... but when we train we make those 50 landings in two flying sessions of an hour each ;-)
Thank you very much. There is always a risk involved in flying, but we try to minimize it and enjoy very much to train and become better and safer pilots as we continue our flying journey. Also very blessed to have a SAR pilot who is taking time to learn us to advance.
Oh Switzerland is beautiful I worked for a season in saasfsgot to know the brothers who own the resort and village it's brilliant skiing my favourite place to skii verbier
That is amazing how good both of you have become at flying the helicopter in the mountains. That would be one way you could take some friends up to go heli skiing and pick them up at the bottom and take them back up to get your landing practice actually dropping off and picking people up. Keep up the good videos. I love all the different places you travel to
A quite nice video, showing part of the maneuvers that are routinely carried out in flight. The most surprising thing for me is how little the helicopter's skids sink into the snow, or the well-measured maneuver he makes when placing it on the helicopter's transport... it shows that he has a lot of practice. Finally, and as it cannot be less, congratulate you, the whole family, on the new year, and wish you the best. I'll see you in the next video, a strong and friendly hug.
Freezing cold, we could feel it from here... 🥶😮 Great flying and good to see that your always keep trained well. Thx for the rapid postings in the last weeks, you are spoiling us! 🤣👍👍👍
I absolutely love the videos you put out! You two are always learning new tricks of the trade. I really love your outfits that you choose. I think sometimes we wish the wind would pop up and blow a shirt sideways lol.
Hi Cornelia, it seems, during your presentation on your patio, it was very cold. Because there are two attributes, which indicate this circumstance very sure. OK, these two marks in front also, ha ha ha, 😉😊😀👍, but there is snow on the table (#one) and you had a wool cap on your head (#two). So and now, you can easily admit, that I`m a big gentleman 😀😂🤣😘. See you next time !
Hi ya I hope you guys are doing well…. I’m no pilot but love aviation….. but would positive G be when you approach your land area to fast to make stable landing and a vertical takeoff would help you to keep the aircraft stable on takeoff incase of strong winds and terrain….. like I said I’m no pilot but love aviation and am willing to learn….. anyways Thankyou for sharing such a wonderful wonderland. Its totally different where I am atm with extremely hot temperatures 41 42 43 44 degree forecasted for the rest of the week. After all it is the hottest part of the year for us over here… anyways guys please keep safe Much love 👍👌🤗🚁😘
You don't need to be a pilot to appreciate aviation. I never thought i would become a pilot one day. Love it, should have started sooner with flying. Positive G push you in your seat, Negative G create weightlessness and lift you out of your seat. Greetings to you from frosty Switzerland
That's okay. Positive G push you in your seat, Negative G create weightlessness and lift you out of your seat. And when you do a max power takeoff (or vertical takeoff) you want to stay over your spot that in case of Turbine failure you can land right where you took off from. Because you already know that this spot was safe to land.
Before you go fly you always do a sorrow preflight briefing and than you should know if there is a risk of avalanches or not. No plans coming to L.A. even though i love the landscapes of California a lot!
Simply put, positive G keeps you down in your seat, negative G lifts you out. I can see why you want that in a helicopter. Negative G means too fast of a descent.
Yes, simply said positive G keep you in the seat, negative G lift you out of your seat. A helicopter with this system (semi-rigid free to teeter and cone rigid in plane) always needs to be in 1G or more but not less than 1G. The fast descent doesn't necessarily create negative G's; but you can't descend with too much nose down attitude; you would first come in over exceedance of speed (Vne) and that would cause the retreating blade to stall.
@@GyrocopterGirl that’s far more than I knew about it, but I’m not a helicopter pilot and I know there’s a world of difference between flying helicopters and fixed wing aircraft. I always learn from you, thanks for the comeback 😘
It looks kinda cool there.
👏 Bravo, you were challenged to an Aruba fashion show in the snow. You accepted and fulfilled the challenge. You are a trooper. Beautiful!!!😊
Well not quite yet... maybe I dare more in the future... let's see ;-)
@@GyrocopterGirl I vote Yes 😁
I never thought I'd ever want to see you in a cold weather video until now.......wow
Wow. Beautiful.. It looks cold there. Happy flying!
Yes, thanks
So beautiful there loved the warm suit! Stay safe love you guys!
Thank you! You too!
Piloting skills are just awesome, lovely video ,and the introduction GG you are amazing. Thank you Cornelia xx❤❤

We did that already once, but didn't film it. Maybe we could do a video in that direction...

Good idea to have an experienced pilot help with the practice flight. Good vid you’re off to a good start in 2024.

I came for the spectacular view from the terrace but stayed for the ride through the mountains.
Wow.
Glad you stayed for the ride... it is magical to fly in the snowy mountains and you also get some insights of helicopter flying in the mountains.

Yes it was... that's the goal becoming better and better with every flight.
Hi, like like like. Happy New Year. Mark from NZ.
Thank you very much. Happy New Year too!
It’s very easy 2 tell that u were cold. Hopefully u went warm up with some hot chocolate? I love the shirt that u was wearing.

Very nice views. Wind is always a concern near mountains.
thank you. wind is always a concern when flying in general, but weather and wind in the mountains can be very vicious.
Beautiful!

the ladies are back in school ;-)
What, there was a helicopter???!!!
how much flight time do you have with a full tank of gas? an hour or more
4 to 4.5 hrs depending on which altitude. When flying like that in the mountain than less is needed and 4.5 hrs without reserve
hihihi and if I'm a Japanese wrestler and my translator ,have you a good turbine, to raise the Robinson Helicopter ????? hihihiiii
How can you tell an area is safe to land when dealing with avalanche issues. When you coming back to Los Angeles?
Before you go fly you always do a sorrow preflight briefing and than you should know if there is a risk of avalanches or not. No plans coming to L.A. even though i love the landscapes of California a lot!
