Love this! I’m new in this space while thanking the Lord for his grace and with the help of this video this girl has decided…Yes, to be Herself ❤ Because the Truth is that everyone else is taken.
Hi Aaron. I just want to say thankyou as your videos have helped me to get to the district level for the first time. Im not expecting to get any further than that this year. The process and mindset I've gained from you has been so insightful and now I just need my skills to catchup. But its really a great positive acknowledgement of what you have been trying to communicate.
I love the speech and his humour. The only point for improvement, maybe change from a handheld microphone to either a lapel or headset, like he did in his contest (unless Aaron prefers to use the handheld). I personally prefer to use both hands without the distraction of a handheld microphone.
Just came across this truly engaging gem, Aaron. Thank you for sharing your tips. Like many people, I feared public speaking (and still do). But I never thought to question why I had/have this fear unti your video! Will hopefully be enlightened by some self reflection. I undertook a course in mentorship which i am putting into practice with my trainees. Alot of what you said about mentorship really resonated with me. Thanks a million and will definately be recommeding this to a lot of people! Stay blessed 🙌
Great tips and stories. I resonate with your takeaway from the book Quiet; that changed how I view myself as an introvert some years ago. And I love how you closed your keynote with your One Rule speech. I needed that. Thanks!
Thanks for watching, Chris! Glad to know that you were also moved by Quiet. I definitely am not exaggerating when I say that it made a huge impact on my life and how I conduct myself.
I was searching for good public speaking videos for my son. When i first saw this 47 minutes long video i had all my doubts, would i be interested watching this till the end. But it was so amazing & didn't even want to pause for a minute...
Thanks Aaron, That’s great speech, I’ve learned a lots of thing from your speech. The way how you opened the presentation, it was so engaging and fun! Evaluate myself by Recording my voice and video and listen to it many time until I can change it ! Be myself!
@@publicspeakingmentor thanks! Aaron! That’s all good. glad that you spent time and efforts on this. I am sure that your videos has helped a lot of people!
Great opening! There was humor, energy in the room heightened, and it made a powerful point. I suppose it also worked because the audience knew you and liked you (so much). Would you advise doing that (something similar) with an entirely new audience?
Thanks, Chris. Your assumption is correct. Since the audience had a good idea of who I was already and what the world championship of public speaking is, it was easier to pull this opening off. For new audiences, I have a more reserved opening. Oddly enough though I used to do that opening when I was a 2nd place winner. That one I would still do with a new audience because it was done in a way to poke fun at myself. That element kind of went away once I won.
There must be a big cultural difference between the US and the rest of the English speaking world. The opening speech appeared to be attention seeking narcissism. My mouth was left open in horror and confusion. Stopped watching after a few mins. Intolerable.
Keen insight Dylan. It was most definitely intentional. My opening was used as a way to not only shock the audience but to create a contrast with my real character.

I can relate. Introvert here but love public speaking

Again you are perfect, Aaron. Haven't you written a book on public speaking yet?
I don't know about perfect, but thank you! No book as of yet.

Really interesting, and not sure if it was intentional... Aaron entered the stage like an extrovert. But left it like an introvert.

He spoke kind of choppy a bit robotic and a wee bit rehearsed until he was talking about asking out the girl 🤷
Thanks for the feedback. That part of the speech was the most rehearsed so it makes sense it was more fluid than the rest.
The bars behind you are kinda...distracting? Not sure if the audience felt the same during the actual live session.
It couldn’t be helped unfortunately. The bars were part of the stage and couldn’t be moved or taken down.
