Only 14 when she did this, what a talented young pop superstar! Like wow! Is such a feel good masterpiece of a pop hit. First heard in the end credits of Shrek, been in love with Leslie Carter ever since. What a voice and beauty. Gone way too soon and tragically, May she and Aaron be at peace in heavenly paradise. Loving the early 2000’s pop sound and lyrics, Like Wow! ♥️😍🥰😘🌟✨🤩❤🎵🎶🎙️🎤👑⚜️💎😇♾️📺🎞️
This album cover...she looks like my former childhood best friend. I remember playing this nonstop. This bubblegum pop music is sorely missed. She could've been another Michelle Branch.
Yes, she looked and acted much older that her age. Aaron who was just a year younger still looked like a baby at 13... She was so talented, too bad it did not work and she had to quit. I wonder why...
Sorry, I know this something we've heard time and time again, but this song deserves it one more time: Genuinely, what the actual hell happened to music like this??? Why is it that there's NO feeling of simplicity or innocence in songs anymore, especially by teenage artists today? There doesn't really seem to be happy teen songs anymore, everything teenagers are exposed to now always has some sort of toxic or adulterated or depressing or intense message to it from absolutely nowhere. Again, let me know if you know similar artists who do songs like this nowadays, cause God only knows I can't find them.
this genre is also a favorite of mine, and I recommend Carly Rae Jepsen! I loooove every song on her B-side of Dedicated, but I also love other songs of hers like “Gimme Love” and “Store” :D as far as other music that’s actually from this era, I also love Ashley Tisdale’s album Headstrong if you haven’t already heard it. I could listen to Positivity by Ashley Tisdale any time of any day!
A very happy song. I just found it very strange to be in the original Shrek. I didn't fit that movie, so having that song in it was very silly. Turns out the reason why it was in Shrek was because it was owned by DreamWorks' record label; DreamWorks Records.
I think they put it in Shrek to help the song get more popular, since the movie was a box office smash. Like how All Star by Smash Mouth wouldn't of been as iconic if it wasn't for Shrek. The song and the movie came out about the same time so it makes sense to me.
😑😑😑. She died literally 10 freaking years after her record got cancelled FFS. Her overdose was an accidental one, that stemmed from her prescription pills.
No. Her album was canceled in 2002. She overdosed in 2012 and was married, had a kid and was in a small band and had been on TV a lot, so I doubt she overdosed over something from ten years prior.
@@RussellGreerOfficialThere might have been an indirect effect. Her album was cancelled, locking her away from huge fame. She shortly afterwards likely went to a path that eventually caused her to overdose.
@@ranelgallardo7031she apparently didn't want a music career anyways. Her mother made her do it. She had a horrible time recording the music video for this song
this song goes hard honestly

I had the Shrek soundtrack on CD when I was a kid. I always went right to this track when I played the album on my portable CD player.
let it be known that no one out there should do drugs otherwise, they'll wind up like Leslie and Aaron.
It was probably a suicide attempt.

No, that's not the reason. It's just that having a good soundtrack in the end credits of a movie helps to promote the movie a lot.
