Thank you for your comment. Yesterday a man had his hand litterally shredded by a police grenade, and a man said his teenage daughter may be loosing one of her eyes because of another grenade. Since the start of the movement several people had to suffer an amputation of an eye, a hand, and testicles, as the result of massive levels of police violence. Students in Brittany said they were sexually assaulted while in police custody. Their testimony is terrifying. But the media just prefer to look the other way, and the perpetrators never have to suffer any consequences for their crimes. This is also a massive part of what make demonstrators so angry these days against the government. There's zero trust in the police.
then again, the problem is not the age going from 62 to 64. it's how the government passed the law : without a vote, without a consultation. they decided so, without asking the people. they simply said "that is the law now." in the country of Human Rights. now, we are as angry as ever, against a system that is unfair to people who keep labouring their lives away, and we are angry at that very system deciding for them. how on Earth is it fair ? how do we trust people who have a comfortable pay and retirement, to decide for people who will serve them until they literally die ? these protests are not against the age going from 62 to 64. they are against an unfair system that favours privileged people and how they decide on OUR future. we, the people who provide them for food, light, water, electricity, and any sort of service they wish for. and you know what I find funny ? both national and international medias are depicting the protests as extremely violent. this was absolutely not the case. I literally just came from this Paris protests and it was peaceful, joyous, engaged. from 2pm to 6pm, people were shouting slogans, singing, dancing, sharing. there was an incredible feeling of humanity in this shared anger towards a government that stays blind and deaf to its people. reducing the demonstrations to "explosions in Paris" is a lie, a blatant lie. shame on them. you are being shown only half the truth and I'm sorry this is the only side medias will ever show.

It is disheartening to see the streets of a prominent European nation turn into a site of conflict and unrest. The recent protests in France have transformed some of its thoroughfares into what could be mistaken for a warzone. The scenes of violence and chaos are a stark reminder of the deep-seated social and economic issues that have fueled this unrest. However, it is important that these demonstrations remain peaceful and respectful, allowing for constructive dialogue and meaningful change to take place

Oh, but setting a cop in fire is totally fine, right? You know they're humans too, right?
then again, the problem is not the age going from 62 to 64. it's how the government passed the law : without a vote, without a consultation. they decided so, without asking the people. they simply said "that is the law now." in the country of Human Rights. now, we are as angry as ever, against a system that is unfair to people who keep labouring their lives away, and we are angry at that very system deciding for them. how on Earth is it fair ? how do we trust people who have a comfortable pay and retirement, to decide for people who will serve them until they literally die ?
these protests are not against the age going from 62 to 64. they are against an unfair system that favours privileged people and how they decide on OUR future. we, the people who provide them for food, light, water, electricity, and any sort of service they wish for.
and you know what I find funny ? both national and international medias are depicting the protests as extremely violent. this was absolutely not the case. I literally just came from this Paris protests and it was peaceful, joyous, engaged. from 2pm to 6pm, people were shouting slogans, singing, dancing, sharing. there was an incredible feeling of humanity in this shared anger towards a government that stays blind and deaf to its people. reducing the demonstrations to "explosions in Paris" is a lie, a blatant lie. shame on them. you are being shown only half the truth and I'm sorry this is the only side medias will ever show.
merci monsieur!

Everything we got in France has been through revolutions… time and time again the people had to revolt, sometimes it was violent indeed, in order to have their rights respected. I am afraid we are going that way again… Macron has woken up all the frustrations, all the pains of the past years, showing only disdain, repeatedly, for the lower classes. Besides, representative democracy is only a sub-delegation of democracy. It is not directly the people who write their laws and have them passed.

It is clear that the citizens of France are passionate about their causes and are willing to take to the streets to make their voices heard. However, it is important that these demonstrations remain peaceful and respectful, allowing for constructive dialogue and meaningful change to take place

The legal retirement age is France is 67 (it used to be 65) except for people who started to work early and cumulated enough years of pension contribution to retire at 62, now they’ll have to wait until they reach 64. The workers who started early generally worked in strenuous and physically demanding jobs and arrive at the end of their career physically diminished, these are the people who are been asked to continue to work for whatever little savings Macron thinks the state will do. These new French laws and the retirement regulations are misrepresented in the UK, it’s quite tiring actually. It’s not what it looks like.
If you have planned for your retirement and have a decent Employers and or Private pension, the State Pension is just something extra.
