Never did get LED's installed in this car. My mother-in-law has it now and I'm supposed to be putting in new headlights for her this weekend. Maybe I'll make a video on it! I've put LED's in several vehicles and highly recommend them! However, it's tricky with the H1 H7 bulb type. I tried it unsuccessfully with our ford focus, so you may want to do a little more research before making a purchase for your Sonata.

i’m looking for a intake and full exhaust system. if you could point me in the right direction it would be appreciated. having trouble finding anything about them
Great question! I'm hoping someone can help you out more because I can only find one place that may have what you're looking for. If I can find something more later I'll leave another reply. There's a couple off-brand aftermarket intakes on Amazon which I'll link below. Not a lot of options but I suppose you could always use a K&N Filter on them instead of their unknown filter - so that's an option. I couldn't find any performance parts for the Hyundai 3.3l on rockauto.com, MBRP or Flowmaster (while Holley does sell some limited Hyundai parts). CARid is probably your best bet. They have some performance intakes for the Sonata. CARiD also appears to offer universal exhaust components that will fit, so you could build an exhaust. I've seen videos on straight piped 3.3l Sonatas that sound really good - so somebody's done it successfully before. I just bought one 2007 Sonata 3.3 GLS 109,000kms for $1,300CAD. What maintenance should I consider since it's 16.5 years old? I'm doing a cv axle, subs&, window tint, window visors, fully detailing it, Oil seafoam run, and oil filter right now
Great buy! Keep up on regular maintenance, oil & filter changes being the most important, and it should last you a long time! Sounds like you're already doing a great job! Pay attention to the wear items like brakes & rotors, tires, CV Axel boots, etc. for safety & to avoid any costly repairs from neglecting something. Check your engine air filter & replace your cabin air filter every 30,000miles. Even with lower miles, the rubbers on the car are 17yrs old now and don't age well. A lot of Sonatas have trouble with the OE shocks & struts going bad. You may want to examine them and see if they are leaky or bad. Luckily an easy repair and isn't really necessary other than for improved ride quality / handling. Keep an eye out for leaky seals around the engine, the biggest ones to watch out for are the valve cover gaskets. The valve cover gaskets like to leak & the let oil run down onto the alternator which can ruin it / cause complications there. The front one is easy to replace, but unfortunately the intake has to come off to get to the back which makes it a long / expensive repair in a shop. If you have to do them, make sure you replace the spark plugs and coil packs while you are there. Or visa-versa if its time to do spark plugs & coil packs, I'd do both valve cover gaskets at the same time. That'd save you some time on labor because they will most likely start to leak or seep at some point. Not sure what climate you live in, but these cars are pretty rust prone underneath. Biggest thing you can do to help is keep it clean & dry! I'm not familiar with these having any major transmission issues, but a good practice is to have the transmission serviced, on any car, every 60,000miles or as the manufacture recommends. (I'm not sure of Hyundai's recommendation). I'm not a certified mechanic, so make sure to do more research to figure out what is best for your car / situation. But treat it right and it'll keep you on the road for a long time!
@EYVO Auto I had clunking in the front end I spent 600 for a shop to change the sway bar frame bushings and sway bar links, it helped but I still hear a little clunking. Do you think it could be the OE struts like you mentioned?
@@brandonsmith6400 Wow, it sucks it's getting so expensive to have cars worked on. We had to change a broken sway bar too, but it was after hitting something in the road. It could be a strut, but the best thing to do would be lift the front end and shake everything down to see it something is loose or if you can replicate a similar noise. Look for wear marks where something could be hitting or loose & check the rest of the rubber bushings up there. When does it make the noise? We actually ended up with a front squeak & clunk with the new struts when we'd hit a bigger bump. At least until they wore in a little - so it's possible. You may consult with the shop that did your most recent work to see what they think it could be. They might even already have an idea after looking at / working on the car. Hope it helps!
I drive the same exact sonata and I’m having issues with my cruise control; I was hoping for some advice . So when I turn on cruise control the light appears but never sets; any suggestions?
Not too familiar with cruise control, but it could be a possible brake switch issue? If that is sticky or has failed, cruise won't engage because it thinks you're pressing on the brake. That's a super simple, easy to check part to start with. I'm not a certified repair technician. As an owner Hyundai forums are my favorite to see if there are any common failure points with a certain issue. That might be a good spot to start just to see if there's a simple fix before throwing a ton of new parts at it or paying a shop to diagnose. Anyone more experienced with these cars have an idea?
Good find! In today's market that's a pretty good price & still a very relevant & nice car. May even be able to talk them down $500 or so. Biggest thing on these is they can be very rust prone so pay attention to how bad underneath the car is. Other than that, shocks and struts would go at some point - not too hard or expensive to swap though. And the valve covers start leaking around 130-150k, which left unattended will ruin your alternator because of the oil leaking on to it. Good thing they can be swapped pretty easily with your spark plugs & coil packs service - the bad is the intake has to come off which makes it a lengthy repair - around 3hrs. Neither are issues that would prevent me from buying the car, these engines and transmissions were typically reliable with regular maintenance. My mother-in-law now has around 165k on this car, over 30,000miles of driving since we got it with no repairs out of the ordinary, shocks & struts, brakes, sway bars, alignment & tires, oil changes.
