that's all well and dandy but I'm having a similar issue with my 79 honda express but is there a way to check the magnets? i looked at them and they look intact and no cracks, i checked the system for continuity and it all checks out. any advice would be helpful, i have anew coil, key switch, points. the only thing i did different was the handlebar kill switch due to the button being broken. thanks

I hear you man these things are famous for no spark, I’m gonna be honest with you I don’t really know how to test the magnets. I just knew that mine were damaged. Mine is so frustrating. I have literally almost replaced everything and it still doesn’t work. I ordered a new nos lightning coil and capacitor, people say simple system 😂. Simple when it works , I would disconnect your kill switch to eliminate that from equation till you figure out what is your issue

@@schmidygarage7251 you got it, I’ve done all of the above. I’ll have to disconnect the kill switch and see what happens otherwise I’m stumped, I’ve never had a problem this big before and I’ve been working on bikes and cars for a long time. It goes to show, just when you thought you’ve seen and heard it all guess what you haven’t. Thanks for the advice. And people have the nerve to say that’s a simple system I think not, even the factory shop doesn’t help much with some of this stuff.
