Yes, this is a pretty horrible way to do it. If you look at the tabs on the removed jet you will see a channel inside of the socket that has a perpendicular keyway to allow the tabs to slide out. All you have to do is turn the jet all the way to the right and pull. LOOK inside the jet well and you will see the intended removal design.

That is what I thought I was like why are you not using some kind of rubber gasket between the wrench and the jet housing? Lol then he broke one and I was like ouch! Lol ugh at least he didn't go on 5 minutes on how you soak them in vinegar lol

Thank you! Had a twirling jet with ball bearings go bad after 4 1/2 years of owning a new Hotsprings Flair hot tub. Went to my local dealer where I bought it and buy my supplies and they gave me a replacement for free (5-year parts warranty I guess) and they said it was easy to replace even with water in the tub. Had to come to your video to see how it was done and you taught me that I needed my pickle jar grippy and some elbow grease and boom! Easy. Thanks for giving me the confidence to put some force on it! Works like a charm!

I own a 1998 Sundance Marin Spa. After previewing this video, I attempted to turn my 5" foot jet to remove. This was not a correct procedure for my model spa. My replacement jets snaps into the jet housing without removing the trim. I didn't see any videos showing this process for older Sundance spa's. Hopefully you will show this procedure in a new video.

Your video was good to show how to remove the jet, but wish you had shown how to put a new one back in. I got replacement DXL Sundance 4.3 jet from dealer as several old ones (2012) kept coming loose and floating around in spa. What holds the new ones in when I put them back to replace so they stay put and don't just pop out when the jets turn on? Is there something special I need to do when inserting the new ones in or do I have a part inside that is worn out so it won't hold? I can't see what is in the hole to hold it but there are two flanges that spring out on the base of the new jets. Thought this was going to be simple, now I'm frustrated.

Just push it in. If you find it won't go all the way in you can twist it 90deg either direction. Can't really mess it up. Just stick it in and give it a pop with your palm.

That is theine that primes the pump. It will generally have a line going to the tub or circulation pump. It allows the pump to fill with water before it runs. Not always necessary. You could try just capping it off.

I have the 5 inch jets and when I turn the silver ring to the left the ring just comes off. Basically the silver ring and jet are 2 separate components. I am assuming that all the jets are just old and broken. Water does come out of them though. Do you have any ideas on removing the inner part of the jet in order to replace with what you have shown in your video.

the chrome trim ring is just crimped over the outside of the housing. If you try ti turn it now that the metal trim ring is off, you may have more luck. On older spas the plastic degrades and removal becomes quite difficult

I realize your post is 7 yrs old now lol but thought i might ask anyway. Did you figure this out? I'm reluctant to just start cranking on the jetbody with channelocks since it looks like theres a flat white gasket that might not be replaceable.
