Did you know that Saint-Michel, with it's platforms measuring 118 meters long (more than the average standard of the network, which is around 100 meters), can potentially handle eight-car trains? The platforms of nearby Cité are also longer than average, making it possible to handle seven-car trains without elongating the platforms. If I had an opportunity to speak with the RATP, I'd propose to them to elongate the platforms of all stations on Line 4 (excluding Saint-Michel, which eight-car trains can just about fit) to 120 or at least 118 meters long, so that Line 4's capacity will increase.
