Texas very well may win this game, but the amount of disrespect for Michigan from Texas fans is insane. Truly hope y'all get humbled like last year when Washington whooped y'all and you had to get lucky with a RB injury to even have a shot at coming back.
I think UMs defense will keep it close into the 3rd quarter, but their offense’s lack of production will cause them to wear down and Texas will pull away late. Final score Texas 27, UM 13.
@@freeclimb5487 - Even the best defense will start to struggle if they don’t get help from their offense and vice versa. UM is at its best when they can play complimentary football and this offense is not there yet.
The ONLY way some will double digit beat Michigan this way is with a pick 6 or fumble return. Despite the media lovefest in Columbus and Austin, Michigan has the best defense in the country this year and it will get better each week. Texas may win 20-16 and Michigan can also beat Texas 6-0 if they have to. Michigan's secondary and LB's are actually better this year than the 15-0 team last year.
The biggest mistake Texas can make is not playing like they played against Bama last year. They need to bring the underdog mentality and play with heart. Don't take Michigan lightly. They will make it a game. Michigan could win if Ewers throws some dumb interceptions.
As a Michigan fan I have to agree with this prediction. It’s basically veterans vs. rookies. As much as I want the blue to win, I just don’t see it happening.
Texas by 3 scores. Michigan doesn't have enough bodies for all of the WR's Texas has. Good god they're loaded. They probably have the best WR corps in the country. Sark is a much, much better coach than an overrated Ryan Day. As long as Texas can move the ball inside or out, it'll create enough space for the pass. I just looked and Will Johnston in coverage had a Fresno kid go 6-90 on him. Johnston is a top 25 pick, but this is week 2, not week 10. He ain't ready for the Wingo, Bond, Golden, Niblack, Bolden, Cook, Helm, Moore Jr's on Texas' roster. This whole "Michigan hasn't lost in the Big House in 26 straight games" nonsense needs to stop. They can't do it forever. They lost too much to the draft on offense and defense, and they've had their other starting safety out for the season with an ACL tear, and a starting DB out for the season with another injury. Saban had never lost in Tuscaloosa by double digits until Texas. USC was the best team EVARRRRR until Texas beat them in their home. Ohio State hasn't lost at night in the shoe until Texas. Texas seems to have a penchant for ruining people's home winning streaks. The difference between Ohio State and Texas is Sark is a much, much better coach. Sark knows how to scheme. Wingo is a superior WR than Jeremiah Smith. Smith may win more 50/50 balls, but Wingo is an absolute freak and is a better all around player, and much, much faster (10.5) at the same height. I'll reiterate - Michigan wasn't winning this game with Harbaugh as the coach. Plus Connor Stallions is gone. His record before Stallions was 49-26, and after his arrival was 40-3. Think about that. Moore isn't good enough...yet. Michigan lost too much. Their entire starting o-line, their LB who called the defense, injuries, etc. There's a reason the line went up, and it'll go up again. Donovan Edwards is OK, but not a world beater (no clue why he was on the cover of NCAA 25). Their WR's are good, not great. Texas' defense has improved mightily. Michigan's QBs will both be starting their 2nd games. That's not good. Michigan lost their HC (wouldn't matter much), starting QB (he was just a driver), Corum (a great RB), entire o-line, tons of defense; this game will be good until the 2nd QTR. Just some food for thought.
Will Johnson didn’t play the whole game.. more camera views of him on the sideline then on the field.. he didn’t give up those catches the back ups did go watch… Johnson however did get beat deep once but the throw was sorta bad.. on a sluggo and since had throw it was dropped
Why so much hate for Ohio State? This is a Michigan-Texas video. You must see the Buckeyes as a threat? I do agree Texas is among the elite national title contenders coming into the season. But before you can win it you will have to get past a gauntlet of teams in your own conference. Let’s see what you do against the best defense you will face in the regular season first.
Will Johnson did get beat more than a few times last week because he kept going for that big play INT, and he finally got one to seal the entire deal. The only TD Michigan gave up last week was in "zero" coverage with an FSC Consensus All-American receiver (at Missouri State) from last year making a play on Michigan's backup nickelback. In fact, there were three backup DB's near the ball on that play. Also, if WR Tyler Morris keeps running on that one play where he was open but stopped while Davis had already thrown a nice ball out to him (for a sure-fire TD), we'd be having a completely different conversation today about Michigan's passing offense. At any rate, there is no way in hell this Michigan team is rolling with a similar game plan to the one they had for Fresno State. Speaking of Fresno State, I think their defense could be better than Texas'.
I think Moore still has that hate for Texass and has his defense fired up and they have the better defense in this game and the offense will be enough to win it
Anything is possible, but it’s been a while since Michigan’s defense has allowed an opponent to hang 30+ points in the regular season, and this defense is as good as any Michigan defense in the past 3 seasons.
Texas team speed will be the deciding factor in this game. The running game yardage won't be very different between them, but Michigan won't be able to hang with Texas receivers before or after the catch. By comparison, Michigan's passing game is an obvious weakness.
Michigan limited I Bond to 4 catches in the Rose Bowl. Will Johnson might be the best player in college football. Michigan got 2 INTs in the first game. Not sure where you got the idea that Michigan is slow or weak at the DB position.
@@SmashTheNumbersthe difference is Ewers as a passer is far better than Milroe, there were a lot of QB runs vs Mich which played into their strength of run defense, Ewers is way more creative than Milroe and flat out dominated him at home so don’t sleep on that Texas offense and they got more receiver and TE depth than Bama had
Been hearing that from OSU fans and most recently WU fans. If Michigan is physically dominant in the trenches like against all the speed in the world won't matter
I’m a Michigan fan and I don’t see us improving much in one week 27-10 Texas.. I think our defense will play really well but in the second half will get tired because they’ll be on the field so much because our offense will have a bunch of three and outs
Under estimate Michigan at your own peril. I am an Ohio State fan but I am going with Michigan on this one. The Michigan D has lost nothing from last year. The offence will be good enough by controlling the ball with the running game.
I’m a Michigan fan but I have a brain, we probably won’t win this one. Lost way too much on offense and our head coach. Love being the underdog tho. Still rooting for my boys.
Always respect JD's analysis. However, most people don't realize, Michigan's defensive scheme from 2021 on was specifically built to stop ohio state's "vaunted" offense with great QBs and WRs and slow them down with physicality in both trenches. Michigan 27-20
Finally someone else gets it. Michigan slowed up that great WU offense in the NC by hitting everything that moved and hitting them hard. Bring that intensity it'll be much closer than people think
I've been telling people already that Moore did not open the playbook at all. He played very mediocre that way the tape doesn't show anything. He's got a plan and he just got to believe.
@@daltonpalmer3897I believe you thought that number was Much higher for Fresno State before you looked it up, didn’t you? Michigan defense had an “off game”, yet still gave up less than 250 total yards and got two turnovers and scored a TD.
We all know that Michigan needs great QB play and their defense is solid. I hope their O-line gets it together. Sure, we need to pass the ball but we also need Edwards to get some big breakaways.
One thing that concerned me about Texas/Colorado state is Texas didn’t have a single sack all game, despite shutting them out. Also, State’s RB had well over 100 yards rushing. The pass rush just didn’t seem there, and the run defense looked a little suspect. I don’t know if it’s because there’s a lot of new guys on Texas’ defense starting for the first time/playing way more than last year and maybe they’re getting their feet wet. But not being able to get to the QB and giving up a good deal in the run game will haunt them during the season, against better opponents. Still though, Michigan didn’t just lose their head coach. They lost their starting QB and their starting RB amongst others. Texas SHOULD win this. Texas 27-13.
Michigan fan here, the QB and offense is what worries me especially since the play calling was so vanilla in week 1. Michigan defense has to stay solid and control the clock
Maybe cause your QBs are mediocre so yall didn’t have the ability to do so. What’s your excuse for Edwards going for 27 yards on 11 carries against Fresno state?
@@daltonpalmer3897let’s see what happens. I am optimistic that Michigan will be ready. Edwards is a Home Run hitter that does the best in Big Games. Also…He did have a big run called back on a penalty.
Alex Orji needs to come in as qb1 and set himself up to play the rest of the year. I think it’ll be a close game but texas pass game will drive and probably seal it with a fg.
That's what ALL the experts and OSU been saying for going on 4 years😂 Bama said the same shi* then we retired Saban. Washington who was putting up 450+ yards vs EVERYbody last year said the same. We held them under 200. You wanna talk speed but no offense in the country understands speed and power till they see our defense. We attack like honey badgers. Youll see speed this Saturday. Unfortunalty our offense has too many questions. However Texas let Colorado State rush for over 100. If you knew ball you'd know this is a terrible match up for Texas. They're a perfect match up for us and our style. If it's close at half time UofM wins 100%
We have sleepers on our offense that awaken in the BIG games. Wer playing in ann arbor too. Everything's adding up in our favor but the outsiders don't get it until there in a house and get hit with relentless controlled khaos 💪🏽〽️ Don't cry and disappear after UofM runs the ball down the long horns throat
I bet Texas is feeling confident, they are heavily favored, Michigan looked pretty bland offensively; I wonder what Mason Graham and Kenneth Grant are thinking right now along with Dono, El Hadi 😂
It will be a slow game. Texas expects that. The biggest question is whether Michigan can score. Texas isn't expecting to put up 30, but if they do it won't be a surprise. 24-17
Texas returns the entire O line, it’s QB, and 8 of the 11 on defense. Yes we lost a lot to the draft, but we replaced it well with five star back ups and the transfer portal.
At least we know Michigan’s field goal kicker is awesome - he made two field goals from 50+ yards away! Also they’re at home. I know everyone is calling Texas to win but I’m going to call Michigan wins 27 - 24
Texas isn’t scoring over 30on Michigan with that D Coordinator. But Michigan is still going to lose because Moore is unqualified and his offense will put can’t throw Orji in too much for no production.
@@TeeJGoBlue LMAO Ohio state scored 24 points on Xichigan in their house last year. They were the 45th ranked offense in yards per game, while Texas' offense was ranked 9th in the nation. You can bet the house that Texas will score at least 30 pts. The issue is that Xichigan can barely score 30 points on a non CFP playoff team.
@@darrylbrown8253 point differential in a UM vs OSU game is not a talking point lmfao. Ntm you’re way wrong. Michigan wins games. Period. Don’t care if they win by 1,10, or 25. Win is a win
Is Michigan's offense as bad as they looked in week 1? Can Michigan's D keep them in the game until they figure it out? Will Michigan make a trade for Manning before game time? We'll find out in a few days.
Decent analysis but you need to acknowledge Michigan substituted all game long in the secondary. So the D will be better vs Texas. Question is can Michigan overcome the stacked box with some passing. Not sure they can based on week one but I do think the game will be closer than most are picking.
Texas gave up a lot of rushing yards to Colorado st.. that’s not good and this is before the game got ugly obviously Colorado st sucks but their coaching staff saw something Michigan being a better team will exploit that and with the bad weather coming in AA this game could be Penn St all over again .. no one is talking about the weather it’s gonna about 47 at kickoff with a high of 56 and Rain
@@LionsSBCHAMPS it will age just fine since this UM team has no offense and only a mediocre QB. Now keep reliving last year's title for another 26 years until you have a fully developed team again.
Nothing's _easy_ against Michigan's defense. Texas might win, they might not, but it sure as hell won't be easy. This might be the best defense they see all year... right along with Georgia's D. Michigan's gotta figure out how to get some TD's instead of FG's, but I think it's gonna live up to the hype. GO BLUE 🏈
Everybody gave Michigan hell last year because they didn't run the score up like other teams did. When you are a 'run 1st' team, you score less points and run clock out faster. If i was a betting man, I'd bet on Texas, but I would be reeeeal worried about it. Michigan knows what the trophy feels like, therefore, they are dangerous.
I can’t wait to watch this game as an Ohio State fan and see if Michigan is for real this season or not but if they have a close game than OSU vs Michigan will be a great game
That's my thought as a Michigan fan. All off season Michigan players talked about the physicality of practices being increased. Big hard hits early and often. No matter the talent get smacked enough you start seeing ghost. WU players limping off the field after the title game. Need that level of intensity in this game
UM fans can not seriously think they can win this game. I understand homerism, but just accept reality that your team is going 9-3 this year…..at best.

Texas fan here, UM interior DL is a concern. Sark has so many weapons though they can’t lock them all at once. Much respect to UM but it’s UT 42 - UM 17
If Texas can go into Anarbor Michigan and win I would have to rank them no.2 that's a tall task I don't believe we will see another undefeated team in a championship ever again in this new system
If you sell out to stop the run that’s when the Michigan “smash” blocking works best. All Texas has to do is play normal defense and normal offense and they should win! If Michigan wants to win defense will have to play phenomenally and score a td or two.
As a Texas fan I’m surprised the amount of people overlooking Michigan. How can you overlook the defending national champions? Yes Michigan lost sole pieces but they deserve respect. Texas very well may win this game, but the amount of disrespect for Michigan from Texas fans is insane. Truly hope y'all get humbled like last year when Washington whooped y'all and you had to get lucky with a RB injury to even have a shot at coming back.
I think Michigan d fense keeps it close early. 10 to 3 in favor of Texas at the half but they will finally wear down. 31 to 10 Texas wins.
As a Michigan fan this sadly seems pretty accurate. Our offense is not ready at this point for a team like Texas
Michigan's kicker will have 9 points
I think UMs defense will keep it close into the 3rd quarter, but their offense’s lack of production will cause them to wear down and Texas will pull away late. Final score Texas 27, UM 13.

This is a double digit Texas win. UM is the 4th best team in the b1g this year.

Interesting take with the new teams coming in - Who are the 3 better teams in the conference?
More like the 5th best I think.
@user-pm7nm3jk1t no one is shutting Texas out. No one.
The biggest mistake Texas can make is not playing like they played against Bama last year. They need to bring the underdog mentality and play with heart. Don't take Michigan lightly. They will make it a game. Michigan could win if Ewers throws some dumb interceptions.
Ewers plays great in big games. Bama and Big12 as examples.
As a Michigan fan I have to agree with this prediction. It’s basically veterans vs. rookies. As much as I want the blue to win, I just don’t see it happening.
I never brought into the idea that USC team was the best ever especially after I witnessed all the great Miami teams in the 80’s.
I’ve enjoyed listening to your unbiased takes since joining. Great stuff!!! Go Blue!
Texas isn’t scoring 3 times you clowns are delusional😂

Texas ended a Nebraska winning streak too if I remember correctly
Why so much hate for Ohio State? This is a Michigan-Texas video. You must see the Buckeyes as a threat? I do agree Texas is among the elite national title contenders coming into the season. But before you can win it you will have to get past a gauntlet of teams in your own conference. Let’s see what you do against the best defense you will face in the regular season first.

@@darrylbrown8253that's what they all say. Don't mess with Texas
@@BradleyThomas-e2d Jalen would rather scramble. Ewers can read a defense. It should be a good game.

Anything is possible, but it’s been a while since Michigan’s defense has allowed an opponent to hang 30+ points in the regular season, and this defense is as good as any Michigan defense in the past 3 seasons.
Not at Michigan , its going to be a close game by just 1 td.
Damn close😮😮😮

I’m a Michigan fan and I don’t see us improving much in one week 27-10 Texas.. I think our defense will play really well but in the second half will get tired because they’ll be on the field so much because our offense will have a bunch of three and outs
Those who stay, will be champions. Michigan 24-20
Where Michigan at? They gonna show up to play?
Under estimate Michigan at your own peril. I am an Ohio State fan but I am going with Michigan on this one. The Michigan D has lost nothing from last year. The offence will be good enough by controlling the ball with the running game.
Where the D at? 🤘🤘🧡🤘🤘

23-19 Michigan. Michigan showed very little in game 1. No reverses. No trick plays. Just a base offense. That is by design. They still won 30-10.
