Billy'Paul's was a basement pub located beneath where Barclays bank is now, although the stairs leading down have gone the basement is still there although not used.
Billy Paul's was closer to the town centre than Jamal's? Jamal's is opposite Doc Brown's whereas Billy Paul's was opposite The Hogshead. You had to go down some stairs to get to it and it was located under the Madison.
What’s happened to the UK , most Towns, Villages and cities have lost a lot of their History, very sad to see , lose pubs and we lose a community Spirit , Lee Duffy wouldn’t notice The Boro anymore sad to see folks tbh ☹️
I remember old Keogh telling jokes outside the smasham. Camels hump was the trooper.I was taught how to play tactical pool by chalky white and denzil wonderful memories
the lost souls Very good point mate. I can’t even remember putting this comment on. But you’re right. It would’ve been no fun at all going out with your mates and Lee Duffy turns up in the same place. Funny how ones mindset can change over a year.
the lost souls the lost souls I’m 32 mate and still enjoy going out for a few drinks on the weekend with my mates and a couple of lines here and there. We all have a good laugh and have no trouble with anyone and vice versa. Duffys ego would’ve been even more through the roof if he had people asking for selfies with him which they would’ve if he had been alive in different times. If I was in a bar or club with my mates I know for a fact we would get up leave. And the football was definitely better in the 90’s, Newcastle weren’t fighting relegation every season! 😂
I’ve heard a few people say that mate about them not being the same after the Duffer died. Was he really that much of a force in his day? It’s mad to think he made such a rep for himself within his 26 years like.
