Underage actors can only work a certain amount of hours per day. So it makes sense to use older ones.
I wondered that myself for many years, then realized that the casting agent's were probably older themselves, and wanted 'Real' actors that could portay 'Teenagers'.
I agree with your statement, however, this movie is the one exception, everybody was absolutely perfect in their respective roles!
actor Robin Thomas (one who played antagonist principle) looks freakishly like actor from Modern Family's Phil Dunphy (played by Ty Burrell)
Insanity. I was born the year this came out TO A TEEN MOM who finished sophomore year with me in there 😂 a lot of her friends were fellow outcasts of their public school and I grew up with them.
They all had very similar personalities which was WEIRD!
