This was a special flight for AirAsia Philippines as this is an inaugural flight of their new route from Manila to Dumaguete and back. I am lucky to be aboard this maiden flight Z2641 utilizing their Airbus A320 aircraft.
This is basically the whole experience from airport to boarding, engine start, taxi, take-off, short program on board, snacks, midflight, landing, taxi, water cannon salute, and deplaning!
Hope to take you through this experience of being onboard AirAsia's maiden flight from Manila to Dumaguete!
AirAsia is one of the best airlines so far. I used to fly with it from Cebu to Palawan and vice versa. Great take off and landing. Great Captains and aircrew.

I haven't been to Dumaguete but from what I have heard and seen o videos it appears to be another very beautiful place in the Philippines. Glad that everyone had a safe flight.

I haven’t experienced a runway 31 departure from MNL since the PAL BAC 1-11 days of the seventies. In fact I did not even know that it was still an active runway. Thank you for the terrific video.

Thanks so much! T4 is small so no need for long walks. However if there are a lot of flights, the boarding area can get crowded.

I love Air Asia. And I always fly with it regularly between Manila and Cebu. I love their Malaysian tasting kind of meals.

I actually took that aircraft from Cebu to Davao last 2019. And there are actually 3 aircraft in the AirAsia PH fleet that have sharklets, RP-C8948, RP-C8950 and the one you are flying, RP-C8966.

I had a bad experience on AirAsia departing KL for Melbourne, they took off in a severe thunderstorm, the plane was pelted with large hail stones as it started to climb into the clouds

Yes the general term are either winglets or wingtip device.. However, Airbus calls their winglets 'Sharklets'.

That wing shaking is just like the shock absorbers of your car working. They are designed to shake for safety.

There are A320's that have sharklets too. Even Cebu Pac has them.

still the air asia has the hard landing airline pilots but the flight cost is cheaper than other airline, but still not impressive of the landing.
Sir, hard or firm landings are done for safety reasons. Its got nothing to do with your fare. Rather than a smooth landing but overshooting the runway which can be fatal.
AirAsia has horrible reviews on Trip Advisor.
Avoid AirAsia if you want a hassle free trip. Approximately, 20% of the confirmed flight passengers had a very bad experience with them because of confusing calls or texts on flight schedules and once you showed up on your original flight schedule, you're not on the list of confirmed passengers. How horrible experience!
My first time to see FAs with hair flying across their faces. That's something new. Not neat at all.
