I love how it goes from a soothing tune at the start and then suddenly becomes panicked and urgent when gumball sings. Then at 1:53 the instrumental dies down as gumball sings. It's literally saying "you've lost him there is no hope".

Maybe the glitch takes the characters that actually have good habilities, and can get good use of them, but characters like tobias which can only..change colors, are killed, since they are useless
And in the demo the game over animation bf gets killed by a corrupted character so I think video game characters HAVE to be killed instead of corrupted
There might be a reason why Tobias is umm... Like that... It might be a reference to "The Joy" episode where tobias doesn't get infected because of his colorful body, this might be related to this, so since Tobias can't get infected, the corrupted just decided to oof him
I think he does get corrupted at the end of the Joy, he's seen along the others at the end when the last teacher is caught trying get inside the office. He wasn't infected before because he was already colorful and the infected likely mistook him as already affected until the end. Also Alan and Banana Joe seems have got the same fate here, just less graphic because obvious reasons
Part of me kinda loves how long it stays normal and just continues slipping and only gets revealed entirely when gumball turns around after finally loosing himself. As if the last part of him thats holding on is desperarely in denial about what happened, the delusion manifested by everything LOOKING ok but theyre still just doing one thing in a constant cycle They arent actually there....not really And once gumball looses himself that thin illusion disapears with him (I love over analyzing things- that probably wasnt intented I just think it makes it cooler to think about)

I always imagined the other classmates as illusions, and Gumball at the beginning being happy trying to trick boyfriend into coming closer to him, getting him corrupted, and that didn’t work, Gumball tried to change his appearance to look like a scared survivor in order to corrupt boyfriend, when that also failed he just said fuck it.
