It doesn't matter how you got here, just that you got here! Misery Signals is pretty much the standard for metalcore; the grandfathers of it so to speak. Their album Of Malice And The Magnum Heart set the bar, and they keep nailing it on every album. If you haven't heard their latest, Absent Light, I highly suggest you hit it.
Mark Marchesini I remember my first time hearing Of Malice and the Magnum Heart, aww, I remember like it was 11 years ago, I was in high school and my best friend showed me them, and man, I fell in love with them, I have a shirt from them, its the Edmonton Oilers shirt that says "Misery Signals". Yeah, if you are new to Misery Signals, go check out Karl's side project Solace, the album is called Call and Response. Someone correct me if I am wrong about that, but anyways, you guys enjoy.
I remember seeing these guys live for the 5th time back when they were touring with After the Burial, and Within the Ruins. I was littering tearing when they played the original line up for the Mirrors Album, i lost my voice, i was screaming every line of this song!
We have to make things right brothers. Our loves, our families, our friends, faceless, headless. Sound the Alarms! Allegiance! The Brighter Side of Suffering!
This band has always been underrated and now that Jesse is back, they are touring more and writing new material I think 2019/2020 is when MS is going to show the world what they’ve been missing for the last decade and half. Also while I respect Karl so freaking much for his lyrics and role he had played in this band I do however feel despite his departure from the band being a bad situation that it was about time we heard some more material with Jesse.
when the heavy to quiet to building up/epic heavy parts can actually make you emotional or just sit back and think . . . . that's when you know it's a damn good band
I used to watch this song everyday after school on Music on demand for time warner cable haha. Eventually saved up enough money to purchase all the albums. Then I broke new ground when Spotify came out lol.

This part 1:16--1:38-- I have heard it like this, with a lil bit different drum rhythm from one metalcore/melodic hardcore band, but can't recall which one -.- If someone knows, but again this is a small community of listeners and ex ones, so what the hell. I just love it.
Hey throw some stuff on here everyone and let's reminisce. Maybe I'll mention one you haven't heard in a long time and maybe you can bring back some stuff for me. Gwen Stacy's album The Life I Know (the only album I like from them), Before There Was Rosalyn, Life in Your Way's The Sun Rises and the Sun Sets and Still Our Time is Endless. Those are just some albums/bands that had so much heart and helped me through some crazy shit around the mid 2000's. All very melodic, for the most part.

Lyrics:
Breaking dawn will bring revenge
We should know by now we're so sick
It was building up and no one was watching
We're running out of darkened corners
To sweep the waste into
In our distracted focus no one had a chance
When we lined up at the edge, we were open wide
Like fools waiting for a sign
It was a free fall, an act of desperation
Our backs against the wall
It was a free fall
It was an act of desperation
Down we go
As we all went blind
Like an answer to the call of an outstretched hand
The hell we beckoned crept inside
The vultures circling overhead
Starving to pick the skeletons we leave
On the eve of the end as the world around us burns
(The ashes shall rain)
Somehow we still beg, give us a sign
Dawn brings revenge
Patience won't mend the broken
Promise of something greater
The cables wrapped around our throat
Tonight pitch red cast over
Senses adrift, I lay me down
Plague wraps it's arms around me
Down we go
It was a free fall
An act of desperation, our backs against the wall
It was a free fall
It was an act of desperation
Down we go
As we lined up at the edge, we were open wide
Like fools waiting for a sign
Still modern , amazing !!! Luv these songs till death

As we all went blind, like the answer to a call of an outstretched hand.... My favorite part, talking about how shitty we are to one another. The "give us a sign" part... WE are the sign. Science can only go back to the big bang. They don't go further. What was before the big bang?
on the second line it sounds like he says "We'll bring wheat thins!"
+elliott corder lol, it does
LMAOOOOOOO
LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I remember seeing these with Eighteen Visions :)
that guitars are really emotional. I fucking love this band
I wish I had discovered these guys earlier. Amazing blend of aggression & melody!
1:05 that part will never get old, man. Used to play these songs on the regular. Loved that era of music :)
I really like their sound, new fan here
i agree. mirrors has such a raw sound and i love it.
I watched this video today and it made me feel exactly the same way I did when it came out. There is not many singers who are really into their songs like this.
Old school metalcore
Idk what it is about this song I discovered it about 9-10 years ago on my metal=life dvd and it still remains embedded in my brain love it!
cant believe this song is almost 10 years old, remember all the times I moshed to this lol great memories, classic album
2020 and I'm still here. Wish they had an HD version.
I first heard this song 6 years ago..... and to this day still my favorite song. Ill go months without hearing it, but i always come back to it...and my God it never disappoints. It is a masterpiece and will always stick with me no matter what. Can't say this about any other song in my life...thats how good I think this song is
I miss these guys from when they were part of my local scene. Great dudes and they always played great live.
listening to bands like volumes and reflections is what brought me here, i know im probably gonna get a lot of shit for that since everybody here hates modern metalcore but whatever. i actually remember seeing this video on headbangers ball years ago. dont know why ive never payed much attention to this band their sick as fuck
Mark Marchesini
I remember my first time hearing Of Malice and the Magnum Heart, aww, I remember like it was 11 years ago, I was in high school and my best friend showed me them, and man, I fell in love with them, I have a shirt from them, its the Edmonton Oilers shirt that says "Misery Signals".
@CircleOfFifz This one moves my bowels the most.....
love the progressive elements in this song! can't believe i haven't heard this before.
Wow Great Song for my Ears!
Can't believe i found a Melodic Metal Band again
i love you guys so much. thank you.
I'm addicted to the old school band, and i always searching band like this in this new era
Try Counterparts
Boundaries brought me here so you may like them
they have a great blend of styles and they are all excellent musicians, especially the drummer
damn, this is a really good metalcore band, i just might become a fan :)
I love the lyrics....I'm guessing they deal with humanity and our behavior? Any input on this is welcome
I never really gave these a chance back in the day but boy, am I regretting that decision after finally taking a listen now.
Most amazing metalcore band ever !!! Amazing music, touching lyrics and a lot of emotion ! And Karl's vocals, omg he is the man!!!!
That opening has been forever in my head since i first heard it.
This band has always been underrated and now that Jesse is back, they are touring more and writing new material I think 2019/2020 is when MS is going to show the world what they’ve been missing for the last decade and half. Also while I respect Karl so freaking much for his lyrics and role he had played in this band I do however feel despite his departure from the band being a bad situation that it was about time we heard some more material with Jesse.
this is my favorite rap song
These dudes were so awesome to hang with back in the day
when the heavy to quiet to building up/epic heavy parts can actually make you emotional or just sit back and think . . . . that's when you know it's a damn good band
I used to watch this song everyday after school on Music on demand for time warner cable haha. Eventually saved up enough money to purchase all the albums. Then I broke new ground when Spotify came out lol.
@CircleOfFifz Misery Signals, For the Fallen Dreams, and the band that moves me the most.. It Prevails. loves all of them so much
We are the ones that will one day inherit this earth
With all the problems they’ve left behind - witness the cleansing
And rid this place of the infection that fed on the minds of the weak
In this age we live in of mass communication
There’s no limitation on what we can achieve
15 years and im still here for the vibe
sooooooooooo amazing and melodic! new fav band!
10 years but still awesome
Absolutely love this band
i wish the whole album was like this.. there are like two maybe three songs
This part 1:16--1:38-- I have heard it like this, with a lil bit different drum rhythm from one metalcore/melodic hardcore band, but can't recall which one -.- If someone knows, but again this is a small community of listeners and ex ones, so what the hell. I just love it.
00:14 REEEGGEEAATOOON.
lmfao hahahahahhaha
i just saw them last night on the weight of the world tour....all i have to say is wow insane show
Still soooo goood! Always will be a favorite.
Certified ripper. What a song.
Wish metalcore still sounded like this or at least a remnant of it.
nothing has been the same since djent. we need more original bands like this. Melodic metalcore.
Counterparts are keeping this sound alive in their very own little way.
@@youtuberobbedmeofmyname yeah agreed djent sounds fine don’t get me wrong but it’s boring after awhile
Boundaries, Counterparts, Foreign Hands, Renounced, August Burns Red, Erra... thank me later fr
It's been five years since I've heard this song. Holy shit I miss this, and I feel old lol
