Taylor may not actively reciprocate, but she does encourage him. When he confesses his love to her, instead of telling Thorne that she will never love him, she ignores his words and acts surprised when he actively pursues her. Throughout 1997, Taylor continues to lead Thorne on even though she never loved him.
Well. She likes the attention of only one man wanting her rather than Ridge being between two women. Under the circumstances, I guess I can see where she's coming from.

I don't think I can follow Thorne here (but he is drunk, so maybe I am not supposed to ). Thorne states that Taylor is only looking at him as a brother and will always only look at him as a brother - and that Macy looked the same way at him.
?? Macy and Thorne at that time had been married already twice. Macy definitely hasn't looked at Thorne as a brother or she wouldn't have married him twice.
I was confused when he said that. I think he is such a jerk at this point and is so obsessed woth taylor. That he will say anything to dismiss macy

Sheila was very obsessed with James and plotting against Maggie all the time ( that I love a lot ) Maggie pushed her over the edge , her character was made for that , being a rival ennemie to Sheila , and good for 1996-1997
No matter how tame or sane Sheila seems for a moment. She's only a click away from total Freaking out on someone because she feels somehow slighted.
