Fun stuff. Thanks for sharing! My Dad was a Paratrooper in the 11th ABN during WWII and they were taught and practiced combat knife throwing. It was considered a legit skill in that time. I watched him several times, pick up a random knife, weigh it in his hand, then cold throw and stick it. I sus pect he knew how to gauge whether the knife needed be thrown by the handle or blade. Look up WWIII veteran Skeeter Vaughan...recorded longest combat throw. It's a fascinating story.
