The reason Jin is there is because Xenosaga Episode 1 was originally suppose to include Xeno 2's story as well. The reason he has glasses is cause the creator wanted him to look more like Citan Uzuki from Xenogears (I think).
@@fazeslasher7927If you still haven’t tried it: it’s a very slow-paced, linear early PS2 JRPG with a LOT of cutscenes, but given those caveats the game is okay. The world and story take their sweet time to get interesting but eventually do become interesting. It doesn’t have all that much in common with Xenoblade (except maybe Xenoblade X) apart from being by the same creators.
Yep. XS1 and XS2 were originally one game. But time constraints, and Namco not wanting to delay the release, forced them to split it. Which is why we have the "missing year" flash stroy, and only a recap of the "Gnosis Terrorism" events at the start of XS3. That stuff was to be the story of the original XS2.
Soraya didn't get fired after half of the script was finished. She and Takakashi gave Monolithsoft a full script for the game. Monolithsoft's new scenario writer took their script and rewrote it. She completed scripts for Episode I and Piped Piper. After Pied Piper's script was finished, Monolithsoft didn't rehire her. She has never been a Monolithsoft employee. She's been freelance ever since leaving Square.
Well apparently, according to what we see in this trailer, Xeno 1's story was suppose to incorporate Xeno 2's story as well. This is very evident due to the Jin vs Margulis duel, and Proto Omega which is white in this trailer. Xeno 2 was suppose to be Xeno missing year and Xeno 3's story combined. How awesome would that have been?
@SBaby Episode III at least kept nod to Citan alive somewhat, with how Jin looked. Also, the scene was entered into Episode II at least. Shame about how Namco and Monolith handled the series after Episode I though.
I think it would've been neat if they took "some" elements from 2 and put it with 1. I did like airing and downing enemies, but it took too much to do it and it was the only way to deal decent damage to the enemies. Also, they took out the cool techs. I think if they some how incorporated techs in and balanced out the system in terms of making airing and downing enemies not SOOOOO CRUCIAL it would've been much cooler.
wait, that looks like 1 and 2 combined, i think that was originnaly planned, i mean, we didint even see jin in the first game, and he was fighting with margulis
IMO, the graphics are really close/similar. From the trailer it seems that Episode 1 and 2 were originally one game. It would've been interesting to see what it would've turned out like since IMO the Episode 2 that we got wasn't very good.
It‘s so weird seeing Xenosaga 2 scenes in the graphical style of Xenosaga 1. In an alternate universe, Xenosaga 1 and 2 were one Game (not counting the DS version)
Yeah. I originally thought that Xenosaga 2 would use Xeno 1's battle system (albeit with some streamlining), I mean .hack had the same battle system through and they came out quite quickly.
@KOSMOSinusa68 True, but as I recall you don't actually see him on the Woglinde, and you barely see him during the credits. (Hell, I thought it was Kevin Winnicot at the gravestone at first, until I played the second one.)
Perhaps mainstream was the wrong word, I mean more simplistic so that it would be easier for mainstream audiences to enjoy. Of course, that failed as well. But yeah, The script heavily changed after disc 1 (since Soraya got fired after half the script was written.) I mean when you play disc 2, you can notice the.... absence of dialogue after Shion runs off with Dinah until you get to the end.
Soraya Saga, the series co-creator, said that Namco had nothing to do with all the staff changes and changes to the game after Episode I. It was all Monolithsoft's decision.
Ah. Monolith are morons. They kicked out Soraya Saga and a couple other main creators during the production of number two. They wanted to go another direction with the series. They had to start all over, creating the bull crap we call Xenosaga 2. What we see in this video is the ghost of scenes from the original number two. l read what was supposed to be in 2 and it sounded way cool. Like, a three way battle between U-DO, Kos-Mos, and older Jr and Albedo. Darn. To bad it will never happen.... :(
I read some places it was Namco and others Monolith. (The places saying Monolith seemed more reliable) But was 2 more mainstream? It didn't sell nearly as well as one did. They failed in the long run.
"Pain" is such a great song, I downloaded it on accident one time, and I was like, this is SO FAMILIAR and it bothered me for like a week and I went,, EUREKA! *pops in Xeno I disc, A HA! The ending theme!!*
I noticed that the chaos and KOS-MOS scene definitely looks different in here... *curious* Oh, and I agree with the Jin comments. I'm glad he didn't fight Margulis in Ep.I, too. lol Where did you download this clip?

this video can never die. a relic of an age like the zohar itself
just so the public knows, i commented on here 10 years ago as Silenthillmaster755. god i was so cool
is this game worth playing? i played online xc2 and i like it

The Xenosaga trilogy deserves to be remade with the original intentions Takahashi and Saga had in mind.
I'd like Xeno 1&2 from the DS script to be remade so that we get a more fleshed out episode 2 and then a 3 remake.

This was the first trailer they released. So I think some scenes weren't finished yet, like the no blue eyes.
I thought it was Namco who wanted Monolith to take it in a more... um... mainstream friendly direction.
wait, that looks like 1 and 2 combined, i think that was originnaly planned, i mean, we didint even see jin in the first game, and he was fighting with margulis
Yeah. That was cool. It would've been cool if they had those shadows images in Ep2
more like jin looked like citan.
Damn, Abel was in the very first trailer? Looks like they had this all planned out from the begining.
IMO, the graphics are really close/similar. From the trailer it seems that Episode 1 and 2 were originally one game. It would've been interesting to see what it would've turned out like since IMO the Episode 2 that we got wasn't very good.

Yeah. Wish we got Episode 1 the way it was originally envisioned.
Wow, this was interesting, thanks for putting this up :)
Yeah. I originally thought that Xenosaga 2 would use Xeno 1's battle system (albeit with some streamlining), I mean .hack had the same battle system through and they came out quite quickly.
Yeah. Abel was also in the game during the ending.

Abel IS in Xenosaga I. Only in a cameo in the last scene, though.
I got the trailer from an old Xenosaga website that is now gone.
Soraya Saga, the series co-creator, said that Namco had nothing to do with all the staff changes and changes to the game after Episode I. It was all Monolithsoft's decision.
OMG I MUST HAVE THIS TRAILER!!
D:
I don't think they used motion capture for the fight, so their movement is "different"
This is pretty cool.

hahah yeah. There should've been a one on one duel against Margulis in Ep3
I wonder what Wilhelm says at the end.O_o
I noticed that the chaos and KOS-MOS scene definitely looks different in here... *curious* Oh, and I agree with the Jin comments. I'm glad he didn't fight Margulis in Ep.I, too. lol
Where did you download this clip?
yup exactly.
Why is Jin there?! And why is he wearing glasses?! O.O
Is there an Englsih dub of this trailer? No offense, but this is a little bit annoying to listen to!
