Love these simple tutorials, pretty straightforward as well P.S. As a heads up you don't need to use sudo when you copy to a folder that your user owns so you wouldn't need to use chown either
Just found this video and really enjoyed it. Very much to the point and easy to follow. I've used pre-configured versions of bspwm in the past but have always wanted to try Void, so I'm using this as an excuse to try setting it up on my own. Have to created any follow-up videos on your bspwm configuration? I really like the look of what I saw in the video.
@@JakeLinux Hey ... thanks for the very quick response. I would be interested in seeing how you complete the set up and configure it. Your video was so much better than much of what I see on TH-cam in that it was clearly presented and explained step by step so that it was not only easy to see what to do but also why you were doing it. I'll take a look at some of your other videos. What is your favorite WM? You have clearly explored several.
Arf already on bspwn... wanted more good stuff about the less known herbstluftwm... it was started to be very interresting with all these neat script features
I was trying this out on OpenSUSE and did not find a bspwm/examples folder under /usr/share/doc... directory. I will try again on my testbox in a VM and see if it might be improper install or just a Zypper install fail.
Really nice!! I used to use BSPWM for a long time on Void Linux on an old Laptop but unfortunately it had Problems with connecting to wireless Lan after rebooting. As far es I know it is because you have to use a third party session manager. Do you have any issues using it? Anyway, nice Video as always! :D
@@kremelkeyz5985 do you have git installed? I have not worked with oracle in any form before so I am not experienced in that area. If you have git installed you can use git to clone all 3 of them (bspwm, sxhkd, and dmenu) and install them that way. Are you familiar with using git?
Jake you have one of the best intros and commentary I have seen on a tech channel. Keep rocking with your amazing skills 👌
Thank you, I appreciate that.
I feel like your outros have gotten better, it was a nice summary, very well made

Thanks for watching I'm Glad you liked it, I did not continue because it did not seem to be too popular, I can create a follow up soon if you'd like.
@@JakeLinux id be interested as well

@@JakeLinux must've been a Suse issue. Tested it out on Fedora and now going to use it on EndeavourOS (Arch).
do you perhaps still have this polybar config?
Surprisingly I do still have it, I didn't think I did, I will get it pushed to a repo here today or tomorrow.
@@JakeLinux Awesome! Thanks a lot.
