I use a Trailer Valet Dolly XL to move my 5000 lb Rockwood Mini Light (2109S) and want to add that it is very important to align and tighten the Valet coupler lock with the spanner wrench as tight as possible BEFORE lowering weight onto the Valet with the trailer tongue jack. Proper alignment of the coupler with the hitch is very important and the Valet is heavy to lift so I usually remove the security pin to release the coupler ball and lock from the Valet before installing and tightening it to the trailer hitch. After the coupler lock is aligned and tightened I then lift the Valet onto the coupler and re-install the security pin. Now the trailer tongue weight can be lowered onto the Valet.

Very good point! We’ve learned this a few times the hard way and had it slip and cause quite the panic. Are you using the drill attachment more than the hand crank?

I use the drill attachment for pushing the trailer up our straight driveway then switch to the hand crank for turning and tight maneuvers. The Valet works best when pushing back against the trailer on a flat or slight upward grade. The Valet is not good at pulling a trailer up a grade, it will try to rock forward and pull out of the hitch. I also keep the tongue jack foot lowered to within ½ inch of the ground while moving the trailer with the Valet. The jack serves as an additional point of contact in the event of a failure (collapse) of the Valet attachment.

I was sure that downspout of history. 😅I've seen other dollies, but this one seems to be more precise. I'll never complain about side yard again. Great job! Estelita is a new subbie!

Thank you for the comment! 😍The downspout was saved because of the Trailer Valet XL! 😆 It is really precise, especially if you're just using the hand crank.

Tell me about this tow dolly? What brand? How much? Do you take it with you when you travel?

Hi! Yes we linked the item in the description If you wanna check it out. We bought it refurbished last year at a really good price. The item is a trailer valet XL by the Trailer Valet brand.

We just need it to get in and out of our house, so we leave it at home until we need it and don’t travel with it. You definitely could travel with it, as it’s not that heavy.

Wish there was a way to let Trailer Valet know that your how to video is better than theirs. A friend helped me and he is buying one now too.

Do you think the regular Valet model would work. XL is rated for 10k lbs and Regular is rated 5k lbs
My camper is under 4000 lbs.??

Hi there, you know I’d have to say it will depend on the surface you’re working with. This one we use with our trailer here struggles greatly on the slightest grade, but does fairly well if it’s concrete and flat. So I couldn’t imagine trying to pull it with the regular one on something that’s not perfect level. Hope that helps!
