Russell Crowe really didn't want to deliver the "Husband to a murdered wife" speech in the Colosseum and tried over and over to get it re-written but he eventually had to just go along with it and it turned out to be iconic.
I've seen it at least 3 times back in the 00s and I barely remember it. It's so cheesy and innacurate that my brain refuses to take it seriously. Since he mentioned another piece of shit, Troy, which has nothing to do with this, I'd highly recommend Odysseus 1968. That is a masterpiece in every level, including being faithful to that book.
@Usrpw73 it's so cheesy you watched it at least 3 times.😂 makes sense. People watch movies to be entertained not to learn history. It's documentaries and books for that
Thank you for proving my point that is cheesy and innacurate, to the point that you find it laughable and unbelievable how forgettable it is. Thank you for supporting my words.
Hey, friends, greetings from Brazil.🇧🇷 I would like to praise this reaction format, with the film in the background and in the window, a great idea. It was just a little difficult to maintain attention with such a beautiful woman competing with the film.😍
There were gladiators who chose that way of life for glory. they came often from wealthy families and even as gladiators they were free men. but most gladiators were forced to fight in one way or another. Most people these days are also seen as expendables. also what we call entertainment these days slowly degenerates. everything is for sale so we one day get back to that point where people will fight each other. In that regard we didn't change that much people do love chaos and carnage. that thing with throwing bread into the crowd before a fight. it had a deeper meaning. bread and circuses.distract people and give them bare minimum and one will be able to take even their freedoms. and they won't even notice what they lost. If you would like to see Rome one day, be sure to visit Ostia. An old seatown located not that far from Rome.
The liver on the left side of his body ??? Only 99% of people who have lived it is on the right under the protecting ribs. On the left you do have the lungs overlayed of the stomach, with all its acids for food breakdown. Just a opinion.
Oh for goodness sake aggh! He wasn’t “just cut”, he had a six inch stiletto blade shoved in his lung. Absolutely no need to poison him, where do these people get these ideas and what are they looking at? Just think of the loss of blood and what effect it would have. Sorry, didn’t enjoy the reaction at all, to begin with I wasn’t impressed having to watch the clips over the top of your heads and your settee. Far too much unnecessary chatter which was distracting. Missed a few very salient moments out as well. Never mind, many will have enjoyed it.

Every emperor was called Caesar after Caesar
‘Wow’! Such strong emotional engagement. Said absolutely no one. And I think Gladiator 2 will really appeal to you both. Good luck with that.
You skipped the most important quotation in this movie - Maximus' speech at the beginning
Yah, I've seen Gladiator but I don't remember. 🤣 Dude, if you've seen Gladiator, you'd remember.

My favorite movie of all time since it came out in 2000
Great reaction!
Maybe next check out a movie based on true events Spartacus (1960).
Dude ruined the movie for her. Please just let her watch during the emotional scenes, no need for pointless commentary. WHat a terrible reaction
Well I won't even start it then lol 😂
Ong shi was annoying af😂
As for me, it’s better to have a British accent than an American one... Nothing personal, young lady, but it’s a fact)

My advice is don’t watch the sequel. One of the worst films I have ever seen!
I like her. Let's keep her.
ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED!?!?
He was stabed in the liver no poison
