The thing that really hit me in this video is when you mentioned that not all the artists were professional. I mean, sure, on a technical level, the video would have been incredible if you just reached out to professional or professionally trained artists and animators. But there's something so much more visceral about this version that we got, and I think that could only have happened by making this video the way that you did.
This is AWESOME. Not only to have this huge amount of creative genius, but also to be able and willing to tap into the collective creativity of humankind... Astonishing.

The SIDE BY SIDE. Yes, the animated one is so much more dynamic than the original. You can tell it's a lot of different artists, but it pulled together incredibly well. (And a handful of those artists were incredibly talented. Damn!)
i saw the music video and i was absolutely amazed at how lively and bright it was, and when i heard that over 30 artists came together to draw over 3,000 frames i was just shocked. Honestly that just might be the most frames i've ever heard made for a project

I'm so amazed at how jarring and disjointed the slower frame rate looks on film, but as soon as it's animated, it looks smooth and fluid. Crazy how we accept a slower frame rate from animation or that we don't perceive it as being anything but a normal frame rate. Great job with the video, by the way! Came out fantastic!

I remember seeing the calling for this on tumblr, and wishing I was a good enough artist haha. I love...all of the expression that the artists gave to it with their choices of color and background effects. It's just so mesmerizing every time. It really really makes it into something incredible.
