Hey Dimitri. Thanks for the comment. Glad you found the video useful. I wish I had more minis to practice some OSL on. It's an awesome effect but takes practice to do well and I haven't done it much. I find it tricky to go from the most intense light right around the light source to then gradually blend out to the softer light. Especially on smaller minis when there isn't much distance to do that with. I hope you enjoy the other videos too!
Thanks for the video and voicing your struggle with identifying the miniature parts & materials. I'm experiencing the same while painting it myself. While I like your result and it is definitely better than my own result, I do think you missed the theme for this mini. There is a card containg a drawing of this being. It doesn't show what is what, but it does show that colors are dark and the only light is blue. While your mini turned out warm, the game art clearly shows it should be cold. In addition, the further game lore defines that they are stone-shapers, so I think the parts that are hard to define are made of stone. I'm painting mine aiming for a grim-dark stone-armored ruthless alien, I hope it turns out like that.

I never saw any art for him before painting (didn't even know which deck to start flicking through!) so I looked a bit at how others had painted him and the brief mention of them in the little bit of text at the start of the rule book and that's just how I interpreted it. Don't expect much, I'll be my first Grim Dark and my second OSL. Earlier this week I gave the model a base coat and used AP leather brown for the bandages and shoes, but I'm hesitating if the result is to 'warm' so I want to try something else today.

@@theplasticcanvas Thanks. Yeah, at 4:36 for example, I can see the label clearly. 09037 Pure Black, Water soluble, made in USA etc. Just couldn't read the bit at the bottom :)
