Billy....awesome video man and it's just crazy how you can use the DJI Power 500 all the way down to an Anker power bank to power up the SL mini. That is just mind blowing to have 150+ Mbps down practically anywhere
the Mini Roam plans have just been updated. Now you can use the Roam 50GB plan Internationally as long as you don't stay there over 2 months, and go more than 12 miles offshore. That is a lot cheaper than mobile priority plan for international use.
$140 each months for both of your subscription plans? Damn, that's a lot. I merely pay $20 for my home DSL and 4G/5G internet on the go. The reason for it being that cheap is because I annually call up my service provider and tell em to cancel my contract. Since they don't wanna lose any customers they simply reduce the price again or stay with the same plan as agreed with from the beginning. It works pretty well.
I'm used to be on the local WISP (Wireless ISP) which provided 3Mbps/0.5Mbps, their maximum speed plan. It was $89 monthly, and I paid for two accounts so I could work from home without getting interrupted when the kids wanted to stream whatever. For those in rural communities where the local or regional alternatives really suck, the price of Starlink is worth it.
@@seanwan30 Yep, still available. It's actually VDSL2 (vectoring). downspeed rate is at 100Mbits and 20Mbits up. Fast enough for my daily work or usage and for only (fixed) priced at $10 per month.
When I'm working on the road/during the day I generally wait until I return to the hotel to do some additional editorial. I'm not going to set up in a hotel parking lot or in a rental so my question is how does this perform in an average hotel room? For practical purpose this would be essential.
I’ve been on the fence buying this for work, but after watching your in depth review I will be buying. I work for JPMorgan and often need to take zoom calls with clients. A Verizon hotspot isn’t fast enough.
What's up, I like your video, so about Starlink Mini, you can bring it everywhere everyday without troubleshoot, problem with the variate locations ? You can configure and change your address and locations as you wish ?
Yeah but starlink works everywhere. This is for people on the move. Not 9-5 commuters. Getting 5g speeds on an isolated island or middle of the desert is the appeal.
For the guy that always needs to be connected, this is it. Great review, this is a nice setup.
It sure is a lifesaver

It's nice to have a high speed connection anywhere! Thanks for watching!
thanks for showing the watt consumption. exactly what I needed.
ditto
thanks for the video. Good explanation
I love my regular starlink for my rural home, I’m so getting this mini for when we travel.

me too, advid camper
Couldnt you just use your regular starlink as a *starlink mini* ?
Starlink needs to make a star, ink mobile for your vehicle so you can have Wi-Fi as you drive down the road
I have Starlink in my house… I love the service ❤
yes we have been out of internet service for 9 days but starlink got us back on line- Hendersonville nc ,yep hurricane Helene survivor.
When is this available in Canada 🇨🇦
The upload speed is amazing considering how the device sends 20 mbps worth of strong signal to a satellite hundreds of km away.

DSL is still around? What are your speeds?

@@javaman2883 you mean 3/.5Mbyte or Mbit per second? Last one would be really slow for a mobile connection nowadays.
@@seanwan30🤣 yea. I have’em from AT&T and i get 25mbps. Its straight cheeks so I’m browsing

It might work. You would need to put it outside the window in some way.
I've never had high speed internet in a hotel, maybe 10Mbps down and 2Mbps upload at best.

Eddie, please use my link in the description.

Only get the MOBILE REGIONAL, it’s unlimited. The 50 GB is capped.
Make sure if you use a USB-C the plug has a “PD” outlet.
Yes good point
Note to self, bring a chair, when i'm out and about lol.
lol
You can use 3rd party router for Mini, just like a standard version
Hi, Billy… do you have a link for the USB-C adapter cable you’ve shown? Thanks, great video.
Yup - amzn.to/474BOnn
Thank you!
is there any option that make me to turn off the wifi? i connect the cable to my own router.
I’m not sure you can do that
Can you pay when I use it and not pay when it is in storage.
Yes
@@billykyle Great , I just need for my RV when I used it.
wonder what gaming on the mini be possible i got the gen 2 and good but mini be nice as uses less power
Only thing I would worry about is the latency
Where can I get the adapter cord?
I got mine on Amazon, look for a DC to USB C PD convertor
Do you know if it works on Cruise Ships?
Depends on the plan that you have.
Link for adapter?
Here you go - amzn.to/474BOnn
12hr period is for satellite orbital data to be downloaded.
Satellites are the thingies up in space.
Oops
I’m about to watch as I just have failed at using my Starlink mini while driving
Yeah, you need a special plan for that
Yeah, I’ve come to find out that it’s best to mount the Starlink mini on top of the sunroof and not under the sunroof
@@billykyle what special plan is that? The $150 one you have is shown as being able to be used in-motion as is the 50gb mini plan
If you use the Power 500 100 watt USB-C port it will last even longer.
For sure
Billy speaks normal speed if you adjust the speed down to 0.8X 🤣
Loo😂
OMG that’s hilarious, I adjusted it .75 it’s almost normal speaking.
@@boywonder2799 glad I’m not the only one slower than Billy 😂
Imma truck driver will this work for me I’m using it for a pC
Yes
Its an antenna not a satellite those are in space.
O
Now Elon needs to get Starlink make a mobile unit that circulates on the top of the car so you can get satellite service driving down the road.
Why do you have a connectivity work flow? Once you connect thats all there is to it.
When you’re on the go?
You can use it with your own router via RJ45
I pay $30 for my home internet

No

Maybe you shouldn’t be on the internet while driving? 😅
His license has to be revoked
My plan with Starlink Mini doesn't allow for usage while moving.
