I love when characters reveal things in the interrogation room and the other characters can’t react but inside they’re “WTF YOU NEVER TOLD ME THIS?!?!!”
I feel like his character was trying to figure out his new department that he was unfamiliar with. All the characters had adjustments from the beginning of their svu careers. Benson struggled when she partnered with Stabler and Fin struggled when he came and partnered with Munch. They became better over time.
He's one of my favorite characters and I just really wanted to hug him last night after he told that story from his childhood. I love the development he's gotten so far this season!
What happened in this episode is exactly why things like physical or emotional abuse need to be taught & have a light shed on it early in life. Otherwise, it can escalate, & you’ll end up like Kyle’s father & his family
I like how when she said,"You didn't make that up, did you? That really happened to you didn't it?" The face Carisi gave her I would've done the same thing-
I love how the second Carisi came out of the room Rollins knew the story was real and after Fin's joke said it. And though they don't talk about it, it's clear that Carisi is touched that Rollins knew that it was a real story.
I'll admit, I was a little worried when Carisi was introduced as a super Christian character (no offense, I've just had a complicated personal history with Christianity), but I have so much respect for him now. Whenever he's on the screen, I shout out, "that's my boy!" and everyone watching SVU with me knows I've adopted Carisi as my son.
I love the handsome, talented and interesting Peter Scanavino, he is a very good actor and he does excellent work as Dominick "Sonny" Carisi, Jr on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and I love his character development too, his first appearance on the show he was perpetrator and victim, a few seasons later he came in as a detective then and he should have been recurring and then he became a regular and while working full-time as detective he went to law school at night, he graduated with honours, he passed the New York State Bar Examinations, he quit the squad and he is now an Assistant District Attorney ADA of Manhattan, his character has quite a development and he is the best.
The mom during that episode really pissed me off! Their dad just continuously abused his sons and the mom just sat there and let it happen and just defended him when he got caught!
Yeah, she didn’t come off as sympathetic at all. I mean I understand that it’s hard to leave an abusive spouse, but she just came off as so pathetic. Meanwhile her oldest son risked getting beaten to death in order to prove their father’s abuse and save his younger brother from prison.
You know the character I liked in this episode was the oldest brother. He tried to convince his brother to tell the truth but his stupid mother kept cutting him off. So then he provoked his father and risked getting beaten to death so the man’s true nature would get caught on tape, and it was all for his brother. Now That is something great. Something to be proud of. Something that makes a boy a man. Not using violence against a more sensitive boy to toughen him, but be courageous and selfless enough to put your life on the line for the people you love.
This episode was so tragic and realistic in the sense that many bullies have been bullied themselves (aka abused). It is a vicious cycle that is difficult to break.
So would I but unfortunately life doesn't always give us happy endings. If it did then Christopher Meloni's character Detective Elliot Stabler would have stayed happily married to his wife instead of their marriage crumbling. I agree that it's upsetting when two good characters cannot stay together or be happy together but again... it reflects what happens in real life.
AGREE 10000%!!! I am madly in love with him, he is hot inside and out and I love the silver wavy hair. Reminds me of Eliot Ness or something the way he has it 😍
my BABY, poor Carisi, he's such an interesting and loving character, i simply love him and it happened like automatically, not kidding. I'm so excited to know more about him and his story. edit: lol no way i'm wasting my time with those questioning me calling Carisi "baby", but simple explanation to this is 1- i don't sexualize my favs; 2- imma just gonna keep treating him as a baby, wanting to protect and all because he's freaking cute and i'm soft for him.
Rollins KNOWS..... *doink doink* Lol I want to see Rollisi together more than any other tv couple ever. At this point I am so invested in them as a ficticious couple. I just love them both so much.😍😆
Wait, nothing happened with Carisi's dad. He was bullied as a kid, and violently assaulted by one of his bullies. That was what we found about his tragic past. Nothing to do with Daddy issues.
The reality of when secrets literally cause further deeper unnecessary hurts. When people turn a blind eye they allow these things to continue. So many people have suffered unnecessarily due to old wounds. Things that they dismiss in their own minds. If I pretend it didn't happen it didn't happen. If I don't acknowledge it.. it doesn't exist. However just like the deferred pain of a physical injury there's a deferred pain of the heart and mind.
It was pretty obvious that the hockey dad was trying to live vicariously through his kids. He mentioned at one point he came close to playing pro himself (presumably the NHL.) which is why he was pushing them to be hockey players. And he just seemed to assume that the middle son would make it to the NHL. The oldest son was right. He was a loser
Remember when he played that character who was that janitor? He killed somebody he thought was molesting a girl. Turns out he was her coach and was legitimately helping her stretch
Not many Law and Order SVU fans didn't really like Carisi his first season even SVU team didn't think much of him but he grew on me and the detectives too and now he and Amanda are getting married who knew right?
When Carisi first came, I wasn't too sure. But he grew on me. Good character development
I liked him more when he got rid of that mustache.
Agreed.
Ikr
So glad he shaved da stache💯😂
Bud Jones Me too. The acting is superbly done.
I love when characters reveal things in the interrogation room and the other characters can’t react but inside they’re “WTF YOU NEVER TOLD ME THIS?!?!!”

I love that too!

If Carisi ever leaves SVU I’m legit going to cry my eyes out. Like that’s not funny to play with my heart like that.
WRITERS BETTER READ THIS
He has left to the da office
He is Stabler Light
He's in ADA now and it still breaks my heart
when carisi first joined i HATED him (cause i was salty about nick) but now he’s definitely my favorite
TaylerMarie13 Rollins didn’t even like him either. Now they’re basically bffs, lol
Really? I hated Nick towards his final season.

Yeah. She knows him well. One reason why it’s no surprise they became so close and slowly fell in love…❤️

I adore Carisi. He needs to be protected. He's so endearing, he honestly makes my heart melt and I got tears in my eyes just listening to him.
Ahhhhhhh this made me cry so much watching how Carisi just opened up to this innocent and vulnerable kid
a hug for Carisi

Honestly I was scared on how they would protray his character due to my past experiences with christians but I love him so much
Elliot too

Protect this angel to all cost. I love you, Sonny!!
Carisi has turned into my favorite character, good actor!!
I really liked the acting of Lincoln Melcher who played Kyle Turner on Law and Order SVU. He will be a good character in the future
He plays Griff Jones on Bunk'd, if you're interested.
BookBird 2963 And he also was in jail
When Carisi came on the show, I didn't even like him at all. But now I respect the guy. This episode made me cry at the end

I have been a diehard fan of this show since the beginning.Enter Peter Scanavino....and now it’s better than ever.
All these detectives have brutal childhoods
I loved Carisi as a cop. It took me a while to get used to him as a distinct attorney, but he owned up!👍
yesss but I do miss him as detective so much
I love this show and I will never ever get tired of it
Carisi’s story was so real, I almost felt like something tragic happened to the actor in real life

Another reason for Carisi to be a fan favorite.
Lincoln is such a good actor
Rollins sees right through Carisi's bravado....

I think I've had a crush on Peter Scarvino from day 1 on this show. I dunno there's something about him that I just like. 😍💕
Same 😍. He’s done indie films before he was on SVU.

CARISI is a brilliant person he will get people cases work out in that court room. If he have to get on the stage in court he will tell the truth.
Lincoln baee😂❤️❤️
Right in the Rollisi feels
I saw this episode a few months ago, it was quite heartbreaking that a Father would tell his son to do something that could have killed him.
Why do all the male characters on this show have Daddy issues?
jkrfan7 all the characters have daddy issues I think
jkrfan7 I hope they talk more about Barba's dad
Wait, nothing happened with Carisi's dad. He was bullied as a kid, and violently assaulted by one of his bullies. That was what we found about his tragic past. Nothing to do with Daddy issues.
Even though Rollins is a female why won't she talk about her dad?
Captain Cragen never talked much about his dad either
