Great. An Londubh. (The Blackbird). A version of this tune was first recorded in writing in 1707, approximately 17 years after the Siege of Limerick 1690(1) which makes it an old Jacobite tune. The name "Blackbird" was one time a reference to Ireland/Irish freedom. There are several different Blackbird tunes in the Irish musical repertoire and the set dance is one of the only where the steps are the same all over Ireland. Great sound on that whistle.
