The Evolution of Caeleb Dressel's Sprint Freestyle Technique

- I look back at every tapered 50 freestyle Caeleb Dressel has swam over the last 9 years. Starting with his 22 at 17 years old, all the way to his three 21.0s and his comeback this year at the US World Trials. How fast will Caeleb swim in 2024?

I liked the race where he had 33 strokes. Higher distance per stroke always wins.
Me too a stunner in 2019
Efficiency is king!
"The Evolution of Caeleb Dressel's Sprint Freestyle Technique" -- incredible video Sonny
I thought you’d like it Swimnerd
I think in Paris we'll get two sub-21 in one final with Cam Mcevoy and Caeleb Dressel. That's insane, but quite possible if they will push each other to that barrier
On paper it’s certain possible, but the reality will be much harder on the day. Both 20. Were swam at national not international meets
he might drop a 20.98 and Mcevoy a 21.00 at olympics it's gonna be very close because of caeleb's mentality, he saw how he swam at nationals and it might have brought a flame back of improvement in himself
Woah that’s a bold prediction, both that close but no WR
I can't see Caeleb beating Mcvoy any time soon. Mcvoy has been on the grind for more years straight going into this olympics. He has time to focus just on perfection while Caeleb needs to get back into prime shape. It will be interesting never the less.
Love this style of video rolling back the years to present day. I would love to see Caleb be on top in the LC world…. Just don’t see it though.
The rise and fall of a great competitor. It happens to everyone. His greatness will never wane however.
He’ll be back
Great breakdown analysis 👌 BTW. Love your accent mate. 🇺🇸
Well, for sure, he has probably the best start out there. How fast can he go? No clue. It is interesting to see his progress and change in his technique. Interesting thing about stroke rate is how variable it is from person to person. For sure, you can pull through the water faster than you can ever go, but what is the best stroke rate can change from day to day.....
You are drinking the kool aid of the bs total immersion method mate. Olympic level don’t need cookie cutter approach like TI bs.
Your post makes no sense. The total immersion method is not mentioned at all, and no where did I mention anything like a cookie cutter approach. Swimming is highly variable as to what works best for the individual, and I said that.
I love you wear a Hong Kong tee, and of course you have a detail analysis, thanks
Reckon he’ll pull something out the bag next summer.
20.8, shock the world n all.
2019 was A BOMB🔥🔥
I think next year is the 20. swim!
Well done. You have spent a lot of time analysing the swimmer. Please do so for others too. Would be useful to have a table with a few columns at the end displayed for 15 second on the video illustrating ;
Year, place, time, stroke rate and stroke style.
With regard to who will win the 50m men freestyle next year. This is such short race that anyone has a chance depending how they get out of bed and how they feel like mentally (whether they show up or suddenly pull out). I guess that’s the excitement of this event. Because of this unpredictability, I disagreed with Bill Sweetenham and would have taken Mark Foster to Athens as he had a chance of getting something ( not because how good he would have felt on that day but how badly the others could have).
With regard to betting can I bet on women 1500m freestyle?
I’ll make a chart for a blog post on my website
Cam McEvoy has the form right now
Without doubt and does so beautifully
Did his catch change at all over the years? Like experimenting with how deep he caught the water compared to his recovery?
Damn Cam looks like he’s the man 😂
when is the new mizuno review coming out I thought it was supposed to be posted today?
I haven’t even got the suits yet
I think Fred went 20:94? I may be mistaken
Most swimmers will improve 1-3 seconds in freestyle just by a straighter arms in a 50m free sprint. In the long run, those that swim straight arm will quit swimming or get frustrated because of such motions. Good Coaches should always make swimmers love their sports. Training above 4000m daily is an example of bad coaching that will wear out swimmers in the long run.
I thibk its Ben time
baller video
Favourites: 2017/2019.. next year 20:97(?)
In your opinion, is Dressel's 50 LCM faster than cielos? Given the suit difference?
Ones 20.
Ones 21.
@@TheSwimsuitGuyFair enough
Please make a video about cam mcevoy!
Hopefully one day with him
Its going to be hard for Caeleb to beat Cam
Will there be a sajan prakash bday vlog?
Absolutely

When I get them, I head to Japan on Tuesday
i think its liam weaver actually
Don't forget Ben and flo
Do you see that crypto comment? This guy wasted his time generating 21+ accounts to reply to himself about crypto on a swimming TH-cam video. Although, I've seen worse things being incentivised by bots in TH-cam comments.
I was gonna delete but May as well leave for explanation now ahahaha

Haven't finished watching yet. Still I agree he is the "fastest"
I don't agree he didn't do "well" at trials... sure compared to himself in peak, he sucked. His peers around the world, he sucked.
But for the amount of time he trained, the frequency of his practices going into this meet, and the time he took off. I think in that context, he actually did very well. I was expecting him at that point in his come back to do much worse
I mean Cam had a year off swimming and his FIRST time in water was a 22.8
@@TheSwimsuitGuyYou're not wrong. . But I don't know how hard he went once he got back in.
Considering dressles mental struggle and how little he did when he got back into the water for months and leading up to the trials, I still think he did good.
Good if you compare to me, not good for him. He wouldn’t be a champion if he thought it was good. He hasn’t been that slow since before 2014!
@@TheSwimsuitGuyIt's all relative. I don't know him, I'm not even a fan of him.
But I did see interviews about when he got in the water. How much he swam AKA how little he swam getting back into it and leading into the meet.
For what he did, he did good. He knows what he needs to do in order to be anywhere near where he was or even being able to compete for a spot on our national team and against the international swimmers.
He wanted to be a bit better but in reality. Swimming is relatively simple. You largely get the results you deserve for the work you do at this level. For the work he did, the results for what it's worth in IMHO were good.
But yeah for "Caleb Dressel" or any A finalist at Olympics or worlds. Those results on their own are trash. When it's just the times and the name that goes with them, it's trash. I'm rambling now but there's more to it than just that.
hello am 10 years old my 200m breastroke time is 3:28 for lcm and scm is 3:25 can you please help because I have this mistake when I drop my elbows.
