    Hey man great video.
    I also bought one of these and it's my first kit. I definitely expected it to be perfect out of the box but boy was I wrong! It ended up turning into a project, like you said, but it's been really fun. It definitely taught me a lot about RC cars. Finally got it set up to how I like it too. I also am using MST uprights, but also using wrap up y arm's and an aluminum steering rack. A lot of people like mono-shocks, but I haven't gotten around to ordering that yet.

    had to do a trial on this car it handles rough bought off road tires n still handles rough I wonder if my motor is too much or not enough

      derrick brandon reason It's handling rough is because it lacks a diff marking the car pretty much bog on every turn the d4 is a purpose build drift chassis please don't use off-road tires or any grippy tire at all it will either snap your belt or burn out your motor eventually but either way have fun the kit is super fun!!

    Thank you for the info on this kit. It is a toss up between this kit and a fxx-d. Do you plan on getting the awd version of this kit?

      @EvolVillainRC  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +shadowtrap696 probably not, I already have tons of AWD cars.

      no I dont do awd or anymore, once you have the ideas on the technical tuning bits
      otherwhise join d3/d4 brotherhood on Facebook and il talk you through setting the car up, I run on a pretty slippery surface and with minimal changes drove fairly well adding kickup in the rear will be the last little bit of traction to allow me to be at the same pace as the other guys

    Do you like eagle racing better?

    i adjusted my toe and ran some rims with more offset and car drive fine for me

    • @EvolVillainRC
      @EvolVillainRC  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Michael Willett I'm sure a lot of it has to do with the surface you're running on. Early vids its running on carpet in stock form and it works because they don't need all of the steering angle. On polished concrete its not so good in stock form.

    • @michaelwillett1990
      @michaelwillett1990 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was running on smooth painted concrete and now running on highly polished concrete
      Try a bit of kickup and 0 rear toe and running a little toe out on it and alot of camber
      Dont follow the whole getting the wheels flat I run rear battery tray on mst red dot ga26 all round
      Altho I have been slowly changingbthings to alloy as I see then available

      +Michael Willett its not really rear traction where I am having the problem. It's the the scrub on the front tires caused by all the Ackermann at near steering lock. Changing out to MST knuckles made all the difference in that department because it did away with almost all of the positive caster and reduced the Ackermann. It also allows the knuckle to achieve more angle without the interaction of the steering linkage. I have some MST low scrub knuckles in now I just need to install them. I've seen other setup with these and it pretty much does away with any issues. 3Racing has a revised knuckle as well. I may try that out as well. Glad to hear its working out well. Mine will get there, its just going to take some tinkering. Can't complain too much on a 115 dollar car.

      +Evol Villain RC I can think of other things to adjust that would uave given you the same result, but each to there own

    its 2020 are these still viable or are they going to die out

      I think this thing has basically stood still. Its still available, but no where as good out of the box as the current MST or Yokomo offering. Hard to beat the RMX 2.0 out of the box and bang for the buck.

    • @EvolVillainRC
      @EvolVillainRC  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @ get the RMX 2.0, the 60 dollar difference is worth it to save the headache driftitch.com/2017/09/09/mst-rmx-2-0-first-look/
