So after they traveled 20 years into the future, kinemon suggested to be called father while he would try to call momonosuke without adding -sama to the end.
I think youre over thinking it tbh. He does legitimately care for Kinemon. I think it kinda discredits this scene to say he was actually thinking about oden primarily.

it's just so difficult for me to understand the genius of this man like, how many years has it been since we saw Punk Hazard, and yet the continuity has never failed. We all read/watched these scenes and thought "ah yes, a father and son" but then, freaking 7 years later we get to know that it's actually servant and master and the real father of the child has died in the past months (for their time) and just! meeting Momonosuke and Kin'nemon, which we may have thought as just random charas has led us to see the amazing world of Wano and getting to know a crucial but secondary character as Oden who not only traveled with Whitebeard but actually helped Roger become King. I need to lay down, I love One Piece so freaking much.
