    gettay mate the rhino rack backbone is that the 100 series one that fits the 105

    • @blissniques
      @blissniques  ปีที่แล้ว

      Pretty sure mate they're both exactly the same backbone part, the platform is meant for the 200 series, I didnt like how wide the recommended 1 was for 100/105 series so got the slightly narrower 1

    Awesome rig mate, have you done a gvm upgrade?
    Looks like you are way over mate, have you put her over a weigh bridge?

    • @blissniques
      @blissniques  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey mate cheers, nahh its not way over, all materials inside basically weigh the same as the 5 seats that came out, actually think the seats were heavier, will be getting a gvm upgrade in the future have already had talks with packard automotive about it, they have 2 upgrade 1 to 3400kg the other to 4200kg, which is quite alot more, I want to finish everything on it first before getting the upgrade so I know which 1 will be suited.. no point going 4200kgs if I only need the 3400kgs, have been cutting out weight everywhere I can to keep it down, without jeopardising comfort

      Going through the GVM now mate 4.2T, I have a video a cpl of months ago on my channel on the GVM 👍 not sure on weight yet I reckon im around 3800-3900 fully loaded

    Great looking rig! Plenty of inspirations here and I’m keen to try some of these out in my own rig. Does the water tank make a sloshing noise when you 4wd?

    • @blissniques
      @blissniques  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheers mate, still a working progress, it never ends haha, I didnt put any baffles in it, the shape of it sort of stops it sloshing badly, can only just hear it from the front seats if we dont have any music playing for some reason, dont really notice it at all, 🤙

    • @blissniques
      @blissniques  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey mate, I actually got it custom made through a stainless steel fabrication place here in Perth, just measured it all up and made the bracing brackets myself.. certainly wasnt a 5 minute job, fair bit involved but definitely recommend it.. can also get custom water bladders that can go inside your rear quarter panel.. check them out on google 🤙

    Nice walk around and well considered layout for your style. Very informative.

  • @lexicase8805
    @lexicase8805 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Very nice! Out of curiosity how close to or over gvm do you go when loaded? I know a 105 with just bullbar, scrub rails and a couple of full tanks of fuel isnt that far off gvm, though with both rows of rear seats gone they weigh about as much as a baby elephant, so not as bad as im imagining? Id love to see it go fully loaded over a weighbridge.
    Also the gas shower, i have the same one, where do you store it? I find it a bit painful with the hoses and their fittings protruding, makes for an odd shape to pack away

    • @blissniques
      @blissniques  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cheers,yeh ive been asked a few times about the weight, I haven't weighed it yet but definitely want to, and see if I will need the gvm upgrade, I do have heavier springs all round 350kgs in the back and 200's in the front by memory.. those middle row seats are crazy heavy for what they are, and the 3rd row, the heaviest thing in there are those drawers which are 70kgs, and the water tank is 53kg when its full, everything else combined I reckon would weigh maybe 80-100kgs all up including the fridges, so I couldnt see much difference in weight between the 5 seats and whats in there, maybe just a bit more, ive tried to keep the weight down in ever spot I can, fully loaded inside and out I couldnt see it being any heavier than transporting 5-6 adults with all the seats in.. but definitely want to weigh it and see how accurate I am ha.. the gas hot water I found the perfect size plastic container in bunnings that fits it in perfect and that just stays in 1 of the drawers.

    • @lexicase8805
      @lexicase8805 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@blissniques nice, yeah issues with gvm are getting even worse with newer models, the 200 series sahara with full fuel tanks and two decent size aussie blokes is over gvm... they base the recommended passenger weight at 65kg per adult x2, and 3x 35kg kids in the back. So legally if you wanted heavier people in the car you've gotta have 1/4 tank of fuel remaining 🤣

    • @blissniques
      @blissniques  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lexicase8805 crazy aye, I have heard of a gvm upgrade that takes them to 4200kg, has to be engineered, and anything that involves engineers means $$$, 1 thing I will do is upgrade the front brakes, looking at the Bendix kit you can get for them.

    • @lexicase8805
      @lexicase8805 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@blissniques yeah if the gvm upgrade is done before first registration, it can be done as whats considered second stage of manufacture, and i believe it can be taken to 4500kg even though nothing is physically different between the 4200 and 4500kg vehicle, its just numbers on paper. Thats whats usually done when places like creative conversions do the cab chop and chassis stretch to make wagons into utes.

    • @blissniques
      @blissniques  2 ปีที่แล้ว

  • @c.wright1048
    @c.wright1048 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Unreal mate,
    I'm assuming you build the left and right hand side panels, what material did you use? Not too heavy?

    • @blissniques
      @blissniques  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used marine ply and varied the thickness from 9 to 18mm thick to keep the weight down, mainly 12mm.. marine carpet, all stainless steel fixings with locknuts so nothing should come loose with corrugated roads.. and the frame is rectangular aluminium.. so overall not that heavy at all.. cheers

    • @c.wright1048
      @c.wright1048 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@blissniques so the frame is held together by bolts and locknuts? no welding?
      have you got any photos of the build or the frame? sorry mate not as clever as someone like yourself and i need to see something before i have a crack

    • @blissniques
      @blissniques  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nahh no welding at all, just bolted everything, im definitely no professional I probably over engineered it tbh, hate things that break or come apart so yeh extra bolts and screws throughout, ive actually got to replace the tv with the new 1 I just got (the old brand was no good) and got to install a Converter as well so I can probably take some photos when I take the inside panel off to show you the frame setup.. I used the 2 handle hole on the roof to bolt it to the car up top
