So LeClos ended up with 2 silver medals in Rio while Phelps added another 5 golds and 1 silver to his collection of 28 total. I wanted to see what LeClos would do after Phelps retired and in Tokyo he was a total flameout. The thing is LeClos is a lot of bluster whereas Phelps lets his swimming and results do his talking. Overall, I think it's clear that the gold LeClos got in the 200 fly at the 2012 Olympics was not so much about him winning as it was about Phelps losing. Had Phelps trained and had his head in the game, LeClos would not have even gotten one gold medal at an Olympics as evidenced by how he has performed since.
