- A full festival set of my own music! This was an absolutely legendary hour. Initially it looked like we'd lost the footage, but after a little digging and help from some very generous fans, we have a set. Hope you enjoy this one! Gaz x

Wow, thank you Gareth for actually playing a memorable "Insomniac 30th anniversary" set. I've been listening to trance/edm music since 1997, but the past decade, I've been blessed to witness trance artists evolve over the years. I've watched you progress in the music world over the past decade or so. Your songs "Concrete Angel" and "Sanctuary" actually reeled me back into the Trance world, so thank you!
So you might say trance is your sanctuary?
Sanctuary gives me the same feeling from the day it released, sadly I couldn't make this set :(

I have been listening to Long Way Home and Sansa since Gareth released them. I know it hard to believe, but I play them every day. Your music gets me going. Thanks for letting us know about Sansa. By the way, I'm 76 Years Old.

It's amusing how people don't realise the track list and actual mixing/djing is pre-created & programmed... thats how they can make allthe background visuals also work with the music.
Incredible sets though. Can't wait to see him live.
@@driftwud Hello! If you're interested about what goes on behind the scenes, this set and tracklist isn't pre-programmed. Other than knowing I was starting with Breathe / Mezzanine, I had very little idea of where this set was going to go, and just followed the energy of the crowd and my own instincts.
We have pre-made visuals to 100s of tracks, but due to a nifty bit of software called ShowKontrol, I can play entirely live and the visuals will follow the music. It's seriously cool, a lot of artists use it. Then there are tracks where we have no pre-programmed visuals and the VJ is 'bussing' (ie: doing it live) - for instance Hands, Lost and Exposure are three tracks like that.
It's always a challenge having a fully immersive visuals experience whilst keeping it fundamentally live but I think we got the balance right here!

This is the Gareth I went to see in DC and I've been following for a while. I'm not a big fan of the commercial songs he has played on his last 2 EDC shows at the main stage. This is his true voice, original music with feeling! That one last song it's a master piece with the true essence of Gareth Emery's style.
This was my favorite set of any show or festival ever!!!
This was so good I was crying at one point. This really was a beautiful experience!!! When I saw he was playing at Quantum Valley I knew he was gonna kill it, visuals and all. Ten ten tens ! ❤❤❤

Agree… i guess it’s what this gen of kids like to listen to… just like Armin last year… his set in Quantum valley was so much better than his set at the main stage…
Quantum usually has some of the best sets from artists. They can branch out and drop some tracks that aren't very mainstream. It brings joy to those who frequent quantum valley
@@leejones7347 but this year’s Quantum valley was pretty weak though… considering it’s 30th year… especially Sunday… if anybody remembers 2014 EDC 20 to me that year had a pretty good line up
@@VincentS327 I probably fit within the age range of young ravers (I’m 22) and I prefer this era of Gareth Emery. A lot of what he played in this set was what I listened to when I was in high school. You can see me having the time of my life at the rail. I’m the one wearing the Wooli jersey and Monstercat hat.

My bestie and I were fortunate enough to have seen this set in person, I’ve seen gareth (my #1 fav artist btw) at least 6 times and this set was without a doubt my favorite, not only of his but of all of EDC that year. The energy from the crowd as we all shouted the lyrics at the top of our lungs was unforgettable. Certainly one of my most memorable moments. Love you Gareth ❤

That little psy trance drop @41:10 is so unexpected and incredible. I absolutely love how he worked that in. It's just enough. gets everyone moving to a different bpm, then brings it back. AMAZING! I like psy trance a lot but sometimes a whole set can be a bit draining. love that little touch in this set!
