Thank you Doc for a good detailed explanation of such an important topic . You didn’t rush through and made sure you make the laws understandable 👍 . One of the best explanations on occlusal interferences .
It is a pleasure to see you blessings in the form of appreciation. We shall continue to serve better and better doctor. We thank you for your kind words.
Extra ordinary explanation doctor ☺️..... i have doubt like benett movement is defined for working condyle but during lateral movement the working condyle only rotates!! Then how can we say that the benett shift takes place on working side bvz its predominantly rotating??????
Thank you for your kind words! It is a pleasure and an honour to make these lectures. Let’s break this point down to help us understand the concept of Bennet’s. 1.) during laterotrusive motion, if the mandible moves to left side then the left condyle is known as “working side condyle”. And the opposite is “non-working “ so far simple. 2.) the working side has 1 predominant movement which is “rotation” and a slight bit of translation. This is known as bennet “movement” when it rotates majorly and translates minorly then it is known as “movement” 2.) in the same instance the non-working side does two equal motions: 50% rotation and 50% translation therefore it would look like that the non working condyle shifted a little forward, downword and lateral. That is not just a movement rather is a full shift. Therefore we call it a “bennet shift”. 3.) so in summary, working side has less translation and more rotation therefore it is bennet movement. And nonworking side has equal rotation and translation therefore it is bennet shift.
Amazingly you explained in detail. Thank you so much.
Pleasure is ours 🙏🏻
