Hello Dave, Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video. We have just released update now with the fix for the quiz issue. I have also taken the notes about other issues and will be fixed within this week.
Thanks for the comment Sekander. If there is enough interest, I'm happy to make a follow up video when the bugs are squashed. It's very impressive everything you've been able to accomplish.
@@dave-swift I concur! I'm just shopping around for an LMS that fits my particular needs. LearnDash looks great and I love the new focus mode but it's a bit of a Frankenstein to be able to make it work. Hiding the admin bar should DEFINITELY be part of the core! LifterLMS is an all-in-one solution but (no offense) it's not the prettiest. Tutor LMS ticks all the boxes and it's gorgeous! Not to mention front-end everything! It's an awesome user-experience for both the student and the instructor. I haven't even finished watching your video here (just 12 minutes in) and I'm already like "Where's your link to buy this thing??" Good thing I've only just paid for LifterLMS add ons. I'm definitely getting my money back and moving to Tutor LMS!
hey thanks for this great work, just a simple question about the register and login translate option , i mean for multiple language website, any help or document about how we can fix it please thanks
Hey Dave, after watching few of your videos I decided to watch your videos before I buy any life time deals. Most I like about your videos is honesty towards your viewers and make them wise decision weather to buy it or not instead of just promoting and selling deals. Also will always use your link to buy anything in future. You doing a great job. Thank you so much for taking time and making these videos.

Thank you for walking through this my wife and I run a small local private music lesson business that is going well and were looking to expand to offer digital online courses. Currently just researching the different LMS options to see what might work for us best.
Great J.D.! I used to run a small local private music lesson business myself. If you're hoping to have a marketplace where you instructors can sell courses, I think Tutor is a great option. You can also do it with LearnDash, but it requires extra plugins.
Thank you for this video. Could you please make a video on how to sell the entire website course (LMS website) on membership plan (let's say, we have 2 subscriptions plan 1. Access to entire website courses for 6 months with a particular price and 2. Access to entire website courses for 12 months with a particular price) using Woocommerce Subscription and PMPro plugin. Thanks for the great overview! You mention that you'd prefer to create a sales page and then connect to WPFusion. In that case, would you still set up the connection between the WooCommerce product and the LMS course? -- Or does WPFusion handle the connection: WooCommerce purchases creates WPFusion tag, and the tag grants access to the course???
Hi Danno -- good question. It was a while ago that I made this video, but I'm pretty sure I'm thinking of my workflow with LearnDash. With LearnDash I'd use WooCommerce to sell the course and then use WP Fusion to tag the buyer on both WP & my email tool. There isn't another benefit to doing it that way, so if you use a WooCommerce integration to enroll a student in a course it's not a negative. I hope that clarifies the matter a bit! :)
Thanks for the quick reply. I'm experimenting with the same tools while still trying to keep things as simple as possible. I love what WPFusion brings to the table, but it seems like it would get in the way of some of the fancier payment stuff Tutor LMS can (like sharing funds). -- So still plenty to think about... Anyway, I'll be sure to use your link for Tutor!
Thanks a lot for this video. I've added cartflows. But I can't figure out how the whole checkout/registration proccess works. A video would really be appreciated. Thanks again
Is the plugin WP MultiSite compatible (either FREE or PRO versions)? Can find any clear documentation about that. AND.. is the 20% discount coupon ONLY for the Lifetime license offer, or does it apply to the annual license offer too?
Hi Paul, the coupon is good for any order. Additionally, both versions are WP Multisite Compatible however the Pro version needs a license for each sub site.
Please pardon me about the Video storage u mentioned in the video(custom URL) because it need it to store some of my video and preventing them from download

Hope this makes sense. Haven’t been able to make it work. I created a user and use incognito so that it’s not me Wordpress site access info that’s being used.
Jose - sounds like you need to setup a redirect based on the WordPress user type. Off the top of my head, I’m not sure if this is built into Tutor LMS or not. There are several plugins that do this, including Login press (living.thatltd.life/loginpress). Login press has many other nice features, I do have a full review of it on the channel. First you might want to check with the Tutor docs to see about redirecting to the student dashboard after login.

Is the front end course creation of the nature that I could allow approved instructors to create/upload their own courses, set prices and schedule? I'm thinking of a continuing Ed site in a specific niche where it would work best to have a number of different instructors providing specific topics and I'm hoping that those instructors will carry the load of setting courses up rather than then providing me the info to build. Would this (or other recommendations) fit my purpose: build a question bank (multiple choice questions) which I can map to the chapters of the book (a table of contents, course outline) ? Also build mock exams separately from the qbank for my students. And that’s it, no video lectures nothing too fancy just a solid a ank and mock exams. Thank you !
The great thing about a VPS is that you can easily scale up when your traffic increase (note scaling back down isn’t as easy, so move up conservatively). I host my sites at Cloudways. You could start with a $10/month digital ocean server and scale up as your online course site grows. They have a big Black Friday sale running right now (huge shocker 😂) Here is my Cloudways link: link.clientamp.com/cloudways
Hi Vincent, you'll want to create a student registration page. Here is the doc: docs.themeum.com/tutor-lms/tutorials/student-signup/?ref=clientamp (affiliate link)
Big THANKS Dave! Honest and detailed review really! I do have a question though please; Regarding uploading the course video part, you’ve mentioned VooPlayer as the best to host the video for security reasons, I’m considering it. Though, their annual membership starts from $167 annual. I was wondering, if I upload the video files on my good unlimited host web server instead, would it be efficient? Would it be possible to secure the video files from downloading? Many thanks on advance, Adam
Hi Adam, I don't recommend storing your video files on your host. Your hosting is not meant to deliver video files and the files won't be secured either. You could use a CDN to serve the videos, but they will not be encrypted without considerable additional effort.
Thanks for your tutorial. I am using learndash but I have not been able to use it because of the high technicality involved. Out of these three LMS which one of them has a student's Dashboard. It looks like learndash does not have a student's dashboard. Do learnpress and tutor have student's dashboard? I need an LMS that has a student's dashboard please recommend one for me. Thanks
LearnDash does have a student dashboard! It's just a simple shortcode you can add to any page. Here are more details: www.learndash.com/creating-a-learndash-user-profile-page/

Hey André - I would recommend LearnDash for that purpose. I have a lot of content coming on LMS platforms (including an update on Tutor) I would not even consider Sensei :) get.profitable.tools/learndash
Hello I am facing an issue Can you make a video on "hosting for lms website" where I host my video . What are free option and can I host my video on Facebook and then then connect to my video to my lms site . Or use youtube but on TH-cam any one easily copy the link and easily find my video then my hard worked educational video will not buy. Please help
You say in the video that costumers imideatly get enrolled in the course, when i add the product, the course, in woocommerce, but that do not happen. Why?
The gutenberg editor is ONLY available for the course description, and NOT for actually building out the lessons. The lessons are just a "text editor" and there is no way to change this behavior.
I like LearnDash for most people because it has the most compatibility with other software you might already be using. Tutor is really great too though, so you can’t go wrong between these two. I would definitely go with Tutor if you’re creating a site for multiple real estate agents to make courses and you want them to be able to sell individually (like a marketplace).
Now I have made 2 courses with Tutor, and 1 student has bought a course, BUT can't get acces to the course??? She get a membersside, but there i no link to the class! Do you know why?
Heights is an all in one hosted solution. It’s easier to setup and get going. It’s a one time cost and you’ll only have to pay if you want their video hosting or become successful enough that you need more students. But you’re stuck with the features and designs they provide you. LearnDash is a massively larger learning curve but is completely customizable design wise and completely extensible, so that you can buy or create add-ons so that your online course platform is exactly what is best for your business. It requires ongoing costs (hosting) and maintenance. Which is best? It depends on your needs and values! For me, I prefer the modular approach that system like WordPress provides.
@@dave-swift thank you for the reply. I recently bought LD but the quizzes options are not enough for my language course. Do you have any recommended plugins for me to use for more options for my quizzes? Like flip flashcard, or dictation quiz? Thanks a lot and alsp for the fast reply.
Hi, I have launched a free online course, but when someone clicks Enroll Now, a login screen appears how to get rid of the login screen, coz when someone wants to create an account it gives 404 error. Kindly help
Possibly, you miss out on some features with the free version so you'll have to decide if you need them. Here is the comparison chart: www.themeum.com/tutor-lms/free-vs-pro/?ref=clientamp (affiliate link)
Tutor LMS isn’t a theme, it’s just a plugin. For a free theme, I think it’s tough to beat Astra. When you’re looking to go paid, you could check out the theme designed for Tutor LMS - Docent (My link: www.themeum.com/product/docent-pro/?ref=clientamp)
Please allow a question My name is Mohamed, PhD researcher at the university (I want to apply educational content + achievement test for students) The goal of my research is to provide (reinforcement or feed to the student immediately after answering the question, and this enhancement be text or voice or animation such as Emotion) Question here Is the addition of Thrive Quiz Builder within the site WordPress benefit me in this؟
Hi Mohamed, I'm not positive I understand your question, but I don't recommend Thrive Quiz Builder at this time in general because it lacks the ability to integrate with several other tools that I find essential and ThriveThemes isn't very active in their development.
Thank you for a super nice video :-D What happens if people try to pirate/share an embedded video. Will that be impossible? What I mean is. If I upload av video from my Mac and embed it in a paid Tutor LMS lesson. Will that secure my course from being shared?
Hi Nille, access to the course page is protected but you will still need a video host in addition to Tutor LMS. You could use Vimeo, Wisita, VooPlayer, VdoCipher, or even TH-cam. If you’re concerned about people pirating your content, you’ll want to look for a video host that provides encryption on the videos, so that even if people download the video they can’t share it. My current choice for this is VooPlayer. The pessimists will say that you can still pirate a video by doing a screen recording, and while that is true, it’s very inconvenient. There will never be a way to block piracy completely, we can do a few simple things to make piracy inconvenient.
@@dave-swift If you had to choose between tutorlms , learndash, masterstudy or learnpress(eduma) which one would you choose if you want to have multiple instructors? Also build mock exams separately from the qbank for my students. And that’s it, no video lectures nothing too fancy just a solid a ank and mock exams. Thank you !
Yes, you can create an unlimited number of quizzes and questions using Tutor LMS, and build a question bank with them.
Great review! I would also love to see Hosting specs for various scenarios. I mean do we need Dedicated Hosting for X numbers of visitors?
Online courses are resource intensive. I’d definitely recommend a VPS for an online course that’s getting regular traffic.
@@dave-swift thanks do you have a guide on how to choose a VPS for such a case?
The great thing about a VPS is that you can easily scale up when your traffic increase (note scaling back down isn’t as easy, so move up conservatively).
I host my sites at Cloudways. You could start with a $10/month digital ocean server and scale up as your online course site grows. They have a big Black Friday sale running right now (huge shocker 😂) Here is my Cloudways link: link.clientamp.com/cloudways
Thank you very much. I want to able to assign student/trainee to particular course. I dont want online payment platform. pls how i do it?
Hi Vincent, you'll want to create a student registration page. Here is the doc: docs.themeum.com/tutor-lms/tutorials/student-signup/?ref=clientamp (affiliate link)
Hello, is it possible to know how much time each user spends doing the course? Thanks a lot
how this compare with learn press and learn dash?
Thanks for this review. Have they gotten any new updates?
A lot! This video is due for a refresh.
Big THANKS Dave! Honest and detailed review really!
I do have a question though please;
Regarding uploading the course video part, you’ve mentioned VooPlayer as the best to host the video for security reasons, I’m considering it. Though, their annual membership starts from $167 annual.
I was wondering, if I upload the video files on my good unlimited host web server instead, would it be efficient? Would it be possible to secure the video files from downloading?
Many thanks on advance,
Adam
Hi Adam, I don't recommend storing your video files on your host. Your hosting is not meant to deliver video files and the files won't be secured either.
You could use a CDN to serve the videos, but they will not be encrypted without considerable additional effort.
@@dave-swift Your advice is appreciated Dave!
Very helpful, thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Tutor is multi vendor platform? i mean when new teacher register on my site, he be able to add own courses and lessons?
Yes! That’s right.
Hi, I'm on the free version of Tutor LMS and can't win with setting up a cart and checkout page even though my Woocommerce is installed & set up. Are these Pro Membership options?
No they're not! WooCommerce support is available in the free plugin.
Does this plugin have virtual classroom , like video, sharescreen, whiteboard, etc?
No, it is for pre-planned courses.
Hi Dave, Very good review. I'm in the process of choosing an LMS and I stil Hesitate Between Tutor, Learn Dash, Sensei and Lifter LMS. We are a consulting firm that does a lot of trainning for CPAs. Any recommandations ? I'll be happy to see a tutorial for CartFlows and WP Fusion ..Thansk again
Hey André - I would recommend LearnDash for that purpose. I have a lot of content coming on LMS platforms (including an update on Tutor)
I would not even consider Sensei :)
get.profitable.tools/learndash
Tutor LMS is very delicate. Slight change to one thing affects another. Changing themes affect the Student registration. Not so stable.
Sorry to hear that! I want to update my Tutor review as they have made a lot of progress in the last 9 months.
Hello I am facing an issue
Can you make a video on "hosting for lms website" where I host my video . What are free option and can I host my video on Facebook and then then connect to my video to my lms site . Or use youtube but on TH-cam any one easily copy the link and easily find my video then my hard worked educational video will not buy.
Please help
Yes, I will make a video about this :) Thanks for the suggestion.
@@dave-swift thanks
Sir what name programme you used for montage of this vedeo
Adobe After Effects
You say in the video that costumers imideatly get enrolled in the course, when i add the product, the course, in woocommerce, but that do not happen. Why?
Just replied below, checkout this guide and make sure you didn’t accidentally miss a step :) www.themeum.com/docs/configuring-student-signup/
The gutenberg editor is ONLY available for the course description, and NOT for actually building out the lessons. The lessons are just a "text editor" and there is no way to change this behavior.
Thanks for pointing that out Walter. I plan to revisit my Tutor review as it's been a year since this was published now.
Which is the best platform to use to make a realstate course. Honestly is appreciated to many IT guys seem to just blow smoke up my ass. Its annoying.
@@dave-swift thanks. The school i go to uses canvas. It kind of sucks. Im making a home inspection software for people to get certified (70 hours).
Now I have made 2 courses with Tutor, and 1 student has bought a course, BUT can't get acces to the course??? She get a membersside, but there i no link to the class! Do you know why?
Hey Nille, sorry to hear you’re having problems. Did you see this guide on the Tutor website? www.themeum.com/docs/configuring-student-signup/
is this better than learndash? pros and cons between learndash and tutorlms please
Kindly help
Have you tried contacting Themeum support? They have a chat widget in the corner of their website.
If I was to ONLY wish to create one course to sell into one specific niche, would the free version of Tutor LMS suffice?
Possibly, you miss out on some features with the free version so you'll have to decide if you need them. Here is the comparison chart: www.themeum.com/tutor-lms/free-vs-pro/?ref=clientamp (affiliate link)
Thanks a lot for this video, I just downloaded the free plugin and it seems the default Tutor Lms theme is not installed
Please allow a question
My name is Mohamed, PhD researcher at the university (I want to apply educational content + achievement test for students)
The goal of my research is to provide (reinforcement or feed to the student immediately after answering the question, and this enhancement be text or voice or animation such as Emotion) Question here Is the addition of Thrive Quiz Builder within the site WordPress benefit me in this؟
Hi Mohamed,
I'm not positive I understand your question, but I don't recommend Thrive Quiz Builder at this time in general because it lacks the ability to integrate with several other tools that I find essential and ThriveThemes isn't very active in their development.
Thank you for a super nice video :-D
What happens if people try to pirate/share an embedded video.
@@dave-swift Thank you for SO fast end good answer! You made my day.
I love your videos btw, and will study them all this winter:-D
Hi sir
I need your help
I don´t have the Course Type option of Paid or Free..why is that?...is it because I have the free version. What can I do if I have the free version?
Do you have WooCommerce installed?
@@dave-swift If you had to choose between tutorlms , learndash, masterstudy or learnpress(eduma) which one would you choose if you want to have multiple instructors? I am looking for lms that does not use woocommerce but can still handle the commission percentile form for both admin and instructors. Woocommerce or edd are too heavy consuming plugins. thank
they have 50% off for black friday
Yes, they do! You can find all the black friday deals here: thatltd.life/black-friday-deals/

No problem... I’m looking to update this video soon as there have been a lot of new features.
How to add phone number in student registration ?(Tutor lms)
Hmm... it should be do-able. I'm not sure off the top of my head. I'll look into this.
How do i remove the star ratings?
Add this custom CSS to either the single course if you just want to hide for one course or via customizer to hide it across your entire site.
.tutor-single-course-rating {
display: none !important;
}
@@dave-swift Thank you very much! and is it possible to hide how much people enrolled too?

Are you aware this video is in 360p, Dave?
Check your TH-cam settings. I have mine set to 720 to balance speed and quality.
Nicolas Moisset Looks like TH-cam took a while to process this one. It’s 1080p now!
Hi Dave, thank you very much for reviewing Tutor LMS. And, I can assure that the issues you have pointed out here will be fixed immediately. Well, I am not sure why you did not get the "attachment" upload and remove UI but seems it's already available d.pr/i/1da5iR

This theme is very expensive comparatively
Tutor LMS isn't a theme :) It's an online course creation plugin. There is a free version. The pro version is priced similarly to competing plugins.
