  • The Swedish capital of Stockholm is arguably the best in all of Scandinavia. An archipelago of 14 islands, the city offers great attractions and museums such as Fotografiska, Erik's Gondolen, Monteliusvägen, Gröna Lund, Gamla Stan, Riddarholm Church, Royal Palace, Vasa and ABBA Museums, and the Stockholm Tunnelbana. I try to get to Stockholm once a month to check out some place new and to take my drone to capture a new part of the city. And this is a compilation of all my footage. I hope you enjoy!
If you're heading to this city and want to know what is worth seeing, check out my blog post on it here: Why Stockholm is the Best Scandinavian Capital

As for the drone regulations: to fly in Sweden, one must have registered within their home European country and passed an exam in the A1/A3 drone category. As always, drone rules such as maintaining visual line of sight, flying no more than 120 meters in altitude, and never flying over crowds must always be adhered to.
**Also, there is footage within this video in areas of Stockholm that are now deemed restricted to fly in. This includes the areas near the State House and Gamla Stan. You can still fly near Gamla Stan, preferably on the side of Skeppsholmen, at a height of 50 meters. Please refer to the Swedish Transport Authority app for a drone map:

Could you please let us know how did you get a permit to fly a drone in this area?

You need to be registered with transportstyrelsen first. Then for certain areas within helipads, you have to contact the people in charge and ask if they have a helicopter coming in or taking off in that airspace. As for the Gamla Stan footage, you are welcome to take off from Skeppsholmen, but are only limited to 50 meters high and to not cross the boundary a few meters from the coastline of Gamla Stan. So flying in this area needs no permit provided you are registered and adhere to the elevation and flying conditions as stipulated in Transportstyrelsens website and drone map.
