Wow, what a great episode! We need more people like Ryan in Orlando. Brilliant, driven, and ambitious people want to make a positive change in Orlando that puts the people first. Here's to more walkable neighborhoods. Thank you for having him on Ken and for all that you do!
Silent viewer for the last few months. This is a great conversation. Ryan has great spirit being in such a money hungry business. I love his investment in a community that has been so impoverished in this city for so many decades. Gentrification will happen but how it impacts the community is what matters.
I’m only halfway through the interview and I feel so heard and identified with the topics. Human urban design, mention of transportation, true architecture. I see SO MUCH potential in Orlando and it’s so hard to communicate that sometimes but you did great!
His honesty is true. As a daily downtown user, I hate to say it, but it's a ghost town anymore. I'm so sad to see the LYMMO BRT ending. Bring back OSCar! Downtown has so much potential, but it's definitely being underutilized for sure. I'm hopeful for Society, but it's striking to see downtown with so few cranes.
Yeah honestly I feel a loop based streetcar might be decent for colonial and orange blossom trail while creating a sort of belt line for downtown and parramore.
Adaptive Reuse!!! Have you seen what they did to downtown Chattanooga (old rustbelt city) They did a great job with reusing the old buildings with a Modern twist. Great Podcast!! 😎
Downtown Orlando is in such a desperate need for mixed development with less parking garages making most of the area. I went to the Orange County Administration Center and it was just filled with parking lots and garages which is the most off putting for a city. Most people want to go to a city when it's not filled with parking garages for every block.
Thank you so much for this amazing video! Just a quick off-topic question: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?
Orlando is the biggest tourist city in the world. Yet, tourists who DARE rent a car are subject to constant, insufferable tolls that can't be paid by the tourists with cash because the system only allows for transponder based electronic tolling. As a result, the tourist (or the occasional resident who finds himself HAVING to use a toll road once in a while) has to pay an exorbitant Pay-by-Plate service fee on top of the toll. This is a major rip off and should be ILLEGAL!
