    The only reason why the next Ghost Recon would fail is because of Ubisoft. Not because of its community.

    I really would like to see if we could command our Team into different formations, instead of just pointing them to stay in one place or to go to another place. I wished we could have some sort of formation like when storming a building, going in an organized column. Or let's say we are being caught in open grounds, having someone to protect my back and flanks as well. Ghost Recon is a team game, not a solo game. If I wanted solo I would play Hitman or Splinter Cell.
    I really think team formations could open up a new different experience. The developers could even add a skill tree unlocking different formations that would bring in different advantages in different situations. I would prefer team formations to individual orders.

    It's because of you and Drewski that I bought the game during the summer sale. I'm about 20+ hours in and I'm really enjoying it. Thank you for the content and videos, they helped alot.
    I too hope the franchises future is positive as I've played the earlier ones, I can at least trust Ubisoft to be self aware of how cheesy and CoD'y they've developed the Tom Clancy universe (at least R6) now and not the somewhat-political modern/scifi military series that is used too be.
    The scene where Deimos confronted Harry tells that Ubisoft is aware how they turned a unit of cold killers into esport larpers.
    Lessons were learned in GRBP year 1, let's hope the next GR can come out better. If not, it is what it is.

    You know what’s going to happen? Sony is going to release a new SOCOM game and it’s going have features and systems in it that will force Ubisoft to be more competitive in that space. Right now, as far as console is concerned, they don’t have competition in the third person tactical shooter space. So they experiment with Ghost Recon and don’t listen to the community and breakpoint was terrible at launch because of it. BCG, you all are doing gods work and giving our niche community a voice. I hope a new SOCOM comes out and I hope it’s successful. The SOCOM community and Ghost Recon community are similar. Competition invites creativity.

    Ubisoft shouldn't underestimate the Ghost Recon fan base. It may be one of the smaller ones out of their IP catalogue but hot DAYUM is it passionate about the game and what it wants. You don't ignore a rabid fanbase, theres good money there if you listen

    I agree! I’ve been playing GR since it launched on PC. Breakpoint was too much of a departure from what worked. Future Solider and Wildlands were the high points, Breakpoint was the low point. Breakpoint has improved, but honestly I felt as if it were just one big DLC for Wildlands. They need to work on a solid story w/ character development, more customization w/ gunsmith, and character customization to refresh the franchise.

    I don't think Ubi understand the Tier 1 fantasy we are after - Get a couple of good consultants like for eg Jack Carr to truly let them know what the SpecOps small unit fantasy is all about. Some of my favorite experiences from Wildlands were the insurgency strikes; where your team and the insurgents did a hi-vis raid on a local event or compound directing your units and raining HE from on high. the Towers etal from Breakpoint the "oh really guys this isn't just a reskinned FarCry" as they did in Breakpoint was bad. I need my team, some missions solo sure but I want my spec's along with me, I want interaction with a local population on Scale with Wildlands not Breakpoint. Breakpoint felt so empty. I want "Wolves" type counter-insurgent forces trying to narrow in on my base of ops, I want distributed ops bases with fractions among the insurgents - militant high vis death death insurgents, pacifist insurgents, lone wolf insurgents, politically motivated insurgents both Right and Left. etc etc. I want regular intel briefs and debriefs. I want geopolitics even if its fictitious or the players are not clear. I want interpersonal drama and feature missions for my squad that highlight who they are and what they do. Then I want a narrative structure that has a solid through line and takes the elements mentioned above and organically fashions a cohesive story line. I don't want any "Boss-battles" like the one in Breakpoint utilising the "Punisher" (and I fucking love Jon Bernthal as a person and actor - he is after all "a real one" lol [his podcast]) stupid future tech robot drone shield super anti personnel exploding cloaked super machine gun pocket flying independent drones. NO. I DO want detailed gunsmithing, bomb making, bivouacking, quasi survival mechanics. No stop-playing-sit-for-three-minutes, drone flyovers. No mega-tanks, or super agile alien like drones or nanotech bullshit.
    Why not a storyline about trying to rebuild a faux Syria and glue things back together and promote stability ... Or fuck it just give me an updated Wildlands with new missions a Wildlands 2 and I'd be golden.

    • @Rogdub
      @Rogdub ปีที่แล้ว +2

      nearly everything about wildlands was great. i do prefer the slower combat from breakpoint tho. imo it was a tad to fast in wildlands. i would love to have more control over your teammates like in the original ghost recon. the originals were kinda more immersive also, looking more military-esque. f.e. the menu could be displayed on a sky15-p20 display ingame. i think that would add to the immersiveness.

    • @epone3488
      @epone3488 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Rogdub I agree with everything you say in your reply; It's not that Breakpoint didn't have some great small additions or that it was all bad I like the survival lite elements like the biv's and the bandaging. Yes the play loop was good too and would ramp up better when engaging Wolves vs the La Unidad which imho became unrealistic in their spawn in (it felt too artificial). Also agree that anything to increase the SpecOps Tier 1 fantasy is a positive.

    They should change the interact buttons cause some are X to open doors or Tag supplies.. A is to hop over or Climb.. and B is to Cancel but other Ubisoft games it's Climb. If they make A stick to walls and B hop over like Division we'd be able to stack on walls and order our team to do so as well. I loved using the drone to order the team to do stuff and watch them act them out. Would be really nice if they focused on that cause we should be able to order our team to clear out a room after reconing the inside of a building and marking targets the same way we do recon before we enter a base. I should be able to point at a door and order my team to stack up by pressing A as if I were marking a target. Think RB6 Vegas 2 + Ghost Recon Wildlands. Breakpoint was smooth and looked great but the story and drones sucked. The sliding doors should've been doors that could be interacted with. That would've made it way better. So if we focus on CQB and team functions along with gear and weapon system and were good to go. Take out the special skills, there's no need for that. Maybe end game content if at all. Ghost Recon Wildlands 2 Danger Close. They got the open world and recon down now we need to focus on the details and doing recon inside addibg more to the tactical aspect. Wildlands 2 Danger Close.

I like the sam fisher missions which could still be incorporated in to ghost recon but sam fisher could also be retired for a fresher face with a bit more of an indepth story like having to rescue him and then he needs your help maybe, I'd also like to see them stay away from the over skell tech theme and keep it more real as it was in wildlands which many players could relate as it was real world stuff . You could keep a certain amount of tech for the ghosts as a real ghosts I assume are always using new upgraded tech but nothing to over the top.

    I was playing Wilands the other day. The games amazing cause you get to tackle missions from all different aspects. Lately I've been using the drone to send my team in and watch them clear bases. And i though it would be really cool if I could see them clear out the inside. Then I remembered RB6 Vegas 2 and Seige have the ground drone and snake cams. So we we can incorporate that into the team functions along with repelling from buildings it'd be way more fun. Cause after we clear a base it's kinda boring just running into buildings with no doors or suspense. Or climbing a ladder and running up stairs to the roof becomes pretty repetitive. Since the game is still so good YEARS LATER it should be possible to use Wildlands as the foundation to add to an make better. Breakpoint feels and looks great and probably would've been better had they had door interaction and not just sliding doors. So they should make Wildlands 2 and make it TWICE as hard by adding to recon inside and out making missions twice and long and twice as suspenseful. I watch videos of people playing all the time and just imagine what it would be like had enemies been on the other side of doors holding hostages etc. Especially with the AI system they already had.. If they just keep what works and make it better it would be in a class of its own

    • @ShadowDreamer100

      They did add breaching as a mechanic in the R6 missions of Breakpoint, but only Ash would ever break down doors, and not on your command. It would be great if they gave the players a bit more control again in terms of team mate movement and actions.

      @ChuckBoss201 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ShadowDreamer100 Yeah they had a few areas where they had doors and we could hold action to kick them in but only items were behind them. Rarely enemies. There's also a side mission thst has enemies inside a compound and the mission doesn't start until you blow up one of the doors and then you have like 2 mins to clear the little building . That couple of minutes is always fun and intense so I imagine it being similar too that . Just hope they don't change what works

    Ubisoft with their massive resources, have brought some great visuals to the game... but that's about where it stops. The physics needs a ton of work. The weapons metrics are HORRIBLY INACCURATE. The game play has suffered tremendously in all aspects. There are way too many hidden metrics in the game. I don't mind a few cosmetic glitches... but the grossly invasive glitch count for Breakpoint was almost break-game.
    I won't bother going down the full list... but suffice it to say, Ubisoft needs to either get on-the-ball, or sell the rights to someone who will.

    Here's something I have a problem with, and maybe it's not what you intend. But when I watch your video I hear things that basically say "We want the experience to be X (which we've already experienced) and if it's not, we will consider it a failure". Is the fandom open to an evolution in the experience of the game, or does the fandom basically want a remix of everything it liked in previous games. Is it even open to new things that may or may not play out as hoped? Is there room for the devs to craft a new game that isn't Wildlands 2, or does the fandom basically want an a la carte experience where we pick and choose the elements we want to see? I'm reminded of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.... originally lauded as a "return to form" by returning the franchise to a certain kind of story and jettisoning the politics of the prequels, but it's since come to be viewed as a pale imitation of the original trilogy, a "greatest hits remix" of all the moments we loved without bringing anything new to the table.
    Is that what we want from Ghost Recon?

      I definitely don’t want a force awakens ghost recon game. I think what people are saying is please pay attention to what type of game we want. Look at frontline a total departure from what gr fans wanted so they binned it. Force awakens I believe was loved to begin with simply because star wars fans were starved of content in live media form. I actually think the last jedi killed force awakens more than just force awakens on its own. We are not starved of gr games we just want a game that adds to what worked

    Breakpoint was good mechanicas customization places but npcs were so dumb and story was not strong yet charming because of the face of frank castle, at least for me. Outfits coulda been better. With enhanced mechanics playing in a big city like newyork as an lone wolf or with a team in a environment like middle east would be nice to see for me

    I never played Far Cry, but the ads made me think of it as a GTA5 competitor. And GTA5 has been released on 3 different generatons of gaming consoles, and is still very much popular. So Far Cry (like GTA5) has a much wider audience than Ghost Recon.
    Sounds like ubisoft treats GR just like how EA treated MOH compared to Battlefield.

      They certainly need to give gr more attention but need a good game too to be able to back that up

    I do not agree that the Wildlands structure is a positive thing. We need a modern GR1 Sandbox game with multiple maps from various countries.

    Main reason I think that breakpoint failed because they hyped it up as a survival and evade type with a unimaginable enemy that will be extremely difficult to beat. Then whem it came to beta and nda testing it wa slilw what the hell is this, this wasnt all the hype they were pushing.... granted i still bought the game because i love the ghost recon franchise thats all to it.
    I do say they fixed breakpoint throughout its time but the final touches should've have been when it was first launched. Breakpoint had and still has so many potential to it, they could of have put a survival mode like they did in wildlands my god i wouldn't have gotten off this game of they did. Added a bit more cosmetic items, the mod community is having a blast and sadly im on console and us console players have to sit outside amd watch pc players have all goodies. Yeah i can buy or build a pc but im not going spend alot of money just to play one game.
    They should buld of wildlands but with some breakpoint mechanics as well, such as leaning, i think the character movement is a bit more fuild in breakpoint then wildlands in my hinest opinion. Then jist git ride of the teir loot, the teir loot was unnecessary tbh, they should of added a mechanic like the clean paint on your weapon were instead of clean the paint but keep your weapons up to maintenance if not then accuracy will decease, loading becomes slower, jams will happen. I can go on and on what should of happened but its in the past and what little hope i have for the next title.
    I think they should of kept up with small updates, added events in breakpoint to keep the community engage still because i bet it could of have kept alot of people engage in the franchise still. Dropping new Cosmetics, new camo, a new fun enemy like the terminator which i lived for until they took it out. The game just feels empty now.
    This is what i honestly fear, is people will slowly move away from ghost recon and once they realize the community isnt active as much they just scrap the project and deemed it as a lost cause amd yet there are alot of people who were let down because we all waited for a new game.
    If i can be frank im losing interest in breakpoint. I have almost 946 hours invested but other games like phantasy star online new genesis as my attention, wu long has been a blast and im replaying the gears franchise again (campaigns) spending more and more less time on breakpoint because its dead and i love the game but there is so much you can do and do without something new and exciting. When conquest was dropped i was hoping for a new dlc to continue where tue ourcast turn on the ghost bringing a whole new battle to fight for the homesteaders, fighting back the outcast.
    Other then this mate, cheers to the video, all we can do is hope but have little of it.

    Ok 22 years later. What other form of entertainment hasn't changed on the last 22 years?
    Movies, music, games all have changed. Not saying for better or worse. Just they all change to keep up with the times.
    Like in WW2, women didn't serve on the front lines. But the new games say they did.

    Trusting ubiscum to get back to making well crafted GR that's faithful to the Red Storm classics is like giving money to a crackhead who keeps promising he'll get help and it never happens. That goes for the rest of the money/data gouging fun genocidal's backlog of classics ubiscum like most of these creatively bankrupted cesspools have proven over the last decade they're no longer fit to make videogames for us old time fans. I hope to see a respected Japanese game dev do their own version of GR, Rainbow Six or Splinter Cell based on the JSDF.

    I don't think the future of the franchise is pinned to the success of Project Over, unless Ubisoft is sold to a bigger corporation. Ubisoft execs are afraid of trying new things and would rather keep pumping out new games for the same popular franchises, over and over again. So I can't see them telling their flagship studio, Ubisoft Paris, to create a brand new IP to replace Ghost Recon, after 20+ years. They know people buy Ghost Recon games, even if it doesn't sell as well as they hoped. Where as a brand new IP is a much bigger risk.
