The bishop's speech may not have conformed to the traditional idea of a prayer service, but it wasn’t meant to be a typical sermon or worship moment. Rather, it was an appeal to the president to act with compassion, driven by Christian values of mercy, justice, and care for the vulnerable. Many see figures of authority in the Church as having a responsibility to speak out against injustice, especially when it aligns with their faith. The bishop may have felt it was necessary to use the platform to advocate for those who are suffering, making it more of a prophetic declaration than a standard prayer.
@@ih21180The people in that church weren't there for her performance that she gave. The people that were in that church were there for a traditional prayer service which she failed to deliver. If she wanted to express herself to the president then she should have made an appointment with him. How shameful and disgusting was she to stand on her soapbox and preach woke ideology. There's a time and a place for everything. But that place in this aspect was not the house of God. And if she's speaking for the Episcopalian Church, and that is their stance of the church's opinion and of how they prefer their prayer services to go then shame on them. In any other Church she would have been removed from her position. I would never see anything like that in a Catholic church and I would never see anything like that in a synagogue. @@Ancient1Pisces I understand that you may feel that a traditional prayer service was expected, but I believe that this moment was not about deviating from tradition for the sake of personal ideology. Instead, it was about applying the values we hold dear in our faith to a world that is in desperate need of compassion, justice, and mercy. Religious leaders, particularly those in positions of authority like bishops, have a responsibility not just to lead worship but to also speak out when the lives and dignity of vulnerable people are at risk. The bishop’s message wasn’t about “woke ideology”; it was about the core of the Christian faith-loving our neighbors, showing mercy, and advocating for those who cannot speak for themselves. Yes, the bishop may have used her platform to call for change, but isn't that what prophetic voices throughout history have done? They’ve used their positions to challenge power, call for justice, and lift up the oppressed. In the same way that Jesus spoke out against injustice, religious leaders today have an obligation to do the same. The church isn’t just a place to hold private prayers; it’s also a place to gather, reflect, and take action as a community of believers. Sometimes, that action requires addressing the real-world struggles people face, even if it doesn’t fit neatly into the traditional format of a prayer service. I think it's important that we don’t separate our faith from the world around us. As a church, our calling is not just to pray but to be active agents of love, mercy, and justice in the world. If we can’t speak up for the vulnerable in our own communities, then where are we living out the example Christ set for us?

As I recall, the bishop was simply following in the footsteps of her employer. Now, I don't know the fella's name, but he kicked a bunch of the merchants and the money changers from the Temple, preached that the meek would inherit the earth, insisted that we love our neighbors as we love ourselves, you know, that sort of thing. Kind of like she did now that I think about it. Recognizing science and doing away with pick and choose your sex and deporting trespassers is not objectionably wrong or immoral. God is truth itself.
The so called 'bishop' simply oozes smugness. 1/ the 'bishop' is Anglican and therefore irrelevant (i'm ex-Anglican) 2/ there are no such things as 'female' bishops (unless you think the Lord Jesus Christ - the Word Incarnate - got it wrong) 3/ the Anglican communion is outside of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church (although there are many good people in it). It doesn't matter what she said. Of course there was no mention of the Lord Jesus Christ in her 'sermon'.

@@Vivid_Sky23When I was forced to attend church by my parents, my pastor told an excerpt that stuck with me. It was a story of two christian women, one was a hard worker contributing to the church and never missing a day of it, while the other was a vehement follower who listened and followed the practices but didn’t attend church often and stayed at home spending her time in prayer. Don’t remember it exactly but I believe when they got to heaven the hard worker wasn’t allowed in because her faith wasn’t strong enough, while the one who spent her time praying was allowed in. He then went on to tell us, it isn’t our attendance to church that is weighed, but our faith in him. You can still enter heaven while not having entered or supported a church so long as you practice and follow his principles, because it isn’t the church you should be supporting, but god himself. He got alotta backlash from his superiors for this and retired in the next year.
@doob62 The fact that this got backlash tells me the whole story. Because really all he said was "good people regardless of faith will see heaven one day," and that is somehow controversial
It wasn’t a prayer, it was a lecture… she had the “bully pulpit” and they couldn’t get up and leave so they were stuck there and she knew it… it was unbiblical while she was using God’s name in vain… it wasn’t led by the Holy Spirit it was led by her own political views.
She was just being human. And fair .You can't kill every gay and transexual in the world and you can't judge and accuse every illegal immigrant of being a criminal.
As someone who was raised Christian, it's really sickening to see how *hateful* "Christians" have gotten. Jesus spends all his time talking about mercy and forgiveness, makes friends with all the outcasts of society, and never tells you who to hate and even saves a woman from an angry crowd trying to stone her for adultery saying, "Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her." But the "Christians" of today in this country are so obsessed with punishing all the people they hate. You have to wonder, if Jesus never told you who to hate, where are all these republicans getting it from? 🤔 We need more Christians like this bishop.
That hate filled political rant clearly violated the separation between church and state. The Episcopal church dhould have their tax exempt dtatus revoked for such an act.

A pastor asks for mercy for others. Did you ever go to church ? She did a wonderful job supporting her congregation. I fell sorry for you. You lack compassion for others. Just want it all for yourself ? Well your future looks dim.
@@sharonsonkin4846 Don't be so naïve, this was pure virtue signalling and "activist" hate-mongering . You will never see anything on the centre/right as full of as much hate and mental health anger as the modern left in western politics.
The most shameful, disgusting and outrageous moment in US history is a few days ago when a convicted felon and insurrectionist took the oath of office... the same oath he defiled four years ago. It's little wonder why he chose not to place his hand on the Bible this time around.
@@sharonsonkin4846where was compassion when laken riley took her last breath? Even Christ had to overturn the corrupt moneychangers.
💯
Same mercy that when they were trying to impeach him
She is LOST so is that church !!!
Who ever directed Trump to that service should be fired. Not necessarily for this but what else might they do. It could be something far more important.
nah..... Prez. Trumpissmarterthanthat, Putting that blasphemous woman front and center allowed the world to collectively see what we are fighting against even clearer
Keep expressing your political beliefs. I bet the cathedral will be thrilled when they lose tax exempt status.
What a scam!!??a gay bishop!!?😂😂😂😂get serious here! Didn’t someone tell her they stopped DEI hiring!
Everyone out here calling it everything expect what it actually is... Demonic. Lord have mercy on us all.
Mercy may be a core tenant of the Bible but acceptance of sin is not! Love the sinner not the sin.
She was totally out of line! Never belonged in the prayer day.
People have the right to call themselves 'anything they want' ---HOWEVER, FACTUALLY AND LEGALLY "YOU ARE WHAT YOUR DNA SAYS YOU ARE".
It was not asked... it was lectured.....
As an Episcopalian I have always appreciated that my church has been accepting since the 1980s and earlier. Until now I have never seen any pastor call out a singular person from the pulpit. A christian simply shouldn't cast stones. Of course, she could talk about bringing the country together. She has a right to her opinions but not when she is on the pulpit. A Shepard cares for all of the flock and doesn't cast out the one.
The Episcopal church has become a den of woke nonsense.
Accepting or allowing sin.
Thank you for saying what God wants him to do.
I wish the president and family had gotten up and walked out. One should never remain where evil and sin are preached. I hope you all pray before too late and the evil one will leave. But no further services should be offered and place good people under the cloak of satan
I watched it several times. She forgot about Genesis and John. I can understand asking for mercy, but mercy cannot be fostered by compounding evil.
Leave Political Issues OUT of the Church. Period.
Asking him to have mercy is implying that he’s going to do something directly towards them. Its not like he pardoned his kids that hadn’t been charged with anything
This woman is a disgrace, turning Activist during a sermon 🤮!
Sounds like he was pretty activist to me.
THE BISHOP CLEARLY HAS NOT READ HER BIBLE THEN SMH
A core tenant? Don’t lecture me when you don’t even know what you’re saying. The word is tenet.
Now ask her about abortion. She’s just an activist and wanted her fame.
Trump should’ve just left but didn’t outta respect for the church. The fact that he sat there and listened was mercy enough 😂
No excuses will make her political speech any more pastorly. It was quite woke.
While watching this, I was thinking, this is exactly what Jesus would have done in his time, speaking out against the rabbis and tax men
Quite funny.
Are you serious? The rabbis in many cases were objectionably wrong. They were often hypocrites as Jesus pointed out, praying in public for show and admiration. Kind of like she did now that I think about it.
Recognizing science and doing away with pick and choose your sex and deporting trespassers is not objectionably wrong or immoral. God is truth itself.
Jesus wasn’t for child mutilation
And what she is
The word "Mercy" is not in trump's limited vocabulary.
Cry more
The so called 'bishop' simply oozes smugness.
This lady is a DEI agent.
What about mercy for the children who are being trafficked by the illegals? What about mercy for the police officers, women and children who have been attacked, murdered and or raped by illegals, as well as the countless fentanyl deaths? It was a despicable rant in an inappropriate setting. It was supposed to be a prayer service not a political rant! She didn’t quote a single Bible verse and her rant was far from Biblical principles! 😡👎🏻
I wonder how many kids she has corrupted.
This creepy person is exactly why Trump is doing what he is.
The creepy old man in the WH is a convicted felon and insurrectionist. 🤣
A TOTALLY Disgraceful political rant, by someone Who Should Know BETTER ✝️🇺🇸😡😡😡😡😡
THIS BISHOP HAS JUST CLOSED THE DOORS ON HER .....
Imagine being mad that someone asked for mercy… when God looks at you and looks back at your life in your judgement day and realizes you lacked mercy he will also lack mercy on your soul.
Did you listen to her speech? She wants cheap labor to pick her crops and clean her toilets and she wants to indoctrinate kids into being trans.
Not exactly Jesus' message, is it?
She is nothing but RUDE!!! it was not the time nor the place for her personal feelings! She should honestly not be allowed to preach!
Asking for mercy is not a political statement.
Strange that a man that proudly sells Bibles with his name on them doesn't seem to agree with the message found therein.
She is a radical activist
Separation of church and state Bishop it's the law
I bet you don't say that when conservative churches do the same thing...
What a time to be alive. The president thinks billions of dollars are "peanuts," j6 was a minor incident, and asking for mercy deserves an apology.
Since when is asking 45 to be compassionate as Jesus taught us to do being political?!? As far as her preaching to 45 specifically, it was a prayer service for him, specifically! Jesus was political and it got him crucified.
She's basically saying 'love thy neighbor'- y'know, a pretty core value of Christianity- and everyone in the comments is getting so pressed about it wtf 😭
You can tell by the comments that most Christians don’t know much about their religion. Y’all would hate on Jesus if he showed up today.
What dishonest set of statements and this was pray service - she had the offer to pray for grace for our President vs her hate ungodly behavior of “judgement” only has the right to judge us…
Her remarks about the roles of the people she mentioned showed her racist and superior nature. But aside from that, it was neither the time nor the place for her to put her politics on display. She should be ashamed, but I don't think she's bright enough to realize it.
Oh boy MAGA is triggered and is SO SENSITIVE.
Nobody is triggered and nobody cares about a LARPing bishop. In a weeks time her name will be forgotten. As for his name it will go down in the history books and be remembered long after he is gone. Not to mention live rent free in your head for years.
@BeezTheSperg2309 Sounds like denial. Moving on.
@aaronschmidt9753 I'm as happy as I can be. Your the one typing in all caps. You can try to move on, but we all know you won't be able to.
@BeezTheSperg2309 I don't care what you think, actually.
THIS BISHOP SPOKE THE TRUTH! THANKS BISHOP FOR SPEAKING THE TRUTH. CHRISTIAN PEOPLE DON'T ACT LIKE TRUMP,VANCE, & MOST OF REPUBLICAN'S SHE SPOKE THE TRUTH AS GOD WOULD.
TDS is real.
It took courage to say what she said, whether you agree with it or not
Old clout chasing activist and scold. History has repeatedly warned us about the evil of this particular kind of preacher.
Is this a gay station?
Proud of her. Glad to see someone who knows true Christian love and mercy exist. Trump doesn't even need to be President. He's already destroying America.
I am no longer christian as I fell out of faith 10+ years ago, after realizing it was no longer about the good teachings of the father but the interpretation of them by the church. With that said imma just say it, you should not need a whole book to know how to be a good person.
I've seen so many Bible verses touted in the comments, and it saddens me that everybody has forgotten the true golden rule we all learned as kids
"Love thy neighbor and treat others as you'd want to be treated"
Because really all he said was "good people regardless of faith will see heaven one day," and that is somehow controversial
demonic
The bishop was disrespectful and out of line.
And fair
.You can't kill every gay and transexual in the world and you can't judge and accuse every illegal immigrant of being a criminal.
Love like Jesus. ✌️💕
And hate like Jesus too.
But don’t politicize….
She was so rude and disrespectful . Most un-Christian!
As someone who was raised Christian, it's really sickening to see how *hateful* "Christians" have gotten. Jesus spends all his time talking about mercy and forgiveness, makes friends with all the outcasts of society, and never tells you who to hate and even saves a woman from an angry crowd trying to stone her for adultery saying, "Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her."
But the "Christians" of today in this country are so obsessed with punishing all the people they hate. You have to wonder, if Jesus never told you who to hate, where are all these republicans getting it from? 🤔
We need more Christians like this bishop.
Hell No! LET HER GO!!!😂😂😂
She had no right to speak that way, not at the not at the ceremony for him becoming the president that was so wrong
That hate filled political rant clearly violated the separation between church and state. The Episcopal church dhould have their tax exempt dtatus revoked for such an act.
F Trump. ❤ the Bishop.
Bishop? lol
Go away. You are a beta male
The Catholics are taking the Immigrants side. This is a tag team bout and trump fights alone. Makes sense Unite the religions because of stinky aggressive villainy and lack of compassion. Perfect bad guy catalyst Mcguffin. Good move on gods part. Well played. He is setting up his chess pieces. Trust the prosses. Now there will probable be a big event that will test his presidents. As a DM for Dungeons and Dragons that is the way I would play it. 😉
thank you Bishop for standing up for truth and for the defenseless
All these negative comments just show how our country is so divided. She did nothing wrong.
She asked for mercy for the country and the ones scared for an uncertain future rn because having that much power with an agenda can easily become dangerous.
