I can relate to this. When I watched it I needed to have crazier sex with my girl in order to even feel anything. You build a tolerance like with drugs. Once I stopped watching completely, I was able to have regular, healthy intimacy without the crazy, rough stuff being necessary.
Obviously people like that in a relationship occasionally, but if it’s become mandatory in order for you to even enjoy it, there’s something objectively wrong with your brain.

As a dude who used to suffer on pron addiction since pre-puberty I could tell you from experience that is is damaging both mentally and physically.
1) The physical issues, Iam ignorant of it's effects until Im in a relationship and one example is from having a pp that is so unsensitive I couldn't bust after 30 mins of straight s*x amd needing significantly more stimulation than a normal person to even feel anything during the session ( Even at my first time ).
2) The mental issues, In the beginning starts as a desire for mild pleasure, then it gets worse and worse and worse, until you have a really screw up perception of s*x, developed depraved harmful fetishes that puts your partner in a bad spot and re-wiring or fixing the damages that it did is probably the HARDEST to do.

Yeah. An addiction impacts your life. People can be functioning addicts, where they manage to hold down, or even do incredibly well in life in one or more ways. You could be successful at work, or school/college/university, and/or have relationships with people who don't realise that you are struggling with an addiction, because you can be able to hide it. Addicts can be excellent at convincing people that they're doing just fine, or even good. Addicts can make excuses and lie if people pick up on something being wrong. But even if they're managing to put on a front on the outside that doesn't mean that they aren't suffering. Other people struggle so much that they aren't able to function in their everyday lives. Work, school, relationships, and/or basic self-care can be affected.
People's ways of dealing with their addiction vary, too. There's no one size fits all cure. Some of these things might seem absurd from the outside. Some of them might be damaging advice for others, but may still help the people who follow them.
Yeah there's a problem with misinformation related to the human body, and medical misinformation, and therefore you could debunk some of that, but you should still have empathy for the addiction issues in the first place. Not just laughing about it and saying that it's wrong.

the thing is also that after you fapped your dopamine goes down fast it can actually leave you depressed afterwards and wanting it again, even doing it when it hurt, i had a short time when i was 15 when i just couldnt stop not addicted tho i was just severelly depressed and it helped me cope until i kinda got older and didnt like the feeling anymore, the dopamine boosts i got were short but sometimes got me to take a shower or take care of myself. nowadays i almost never do it, i feel awesome and sometimes you need it but if you are always high on dopamine especially when you were low for so long your life becomes just so much more vibrant, literally depression made me see almost in gray scale.
